Hi and welcome. I am also diabetic. Luckly my dr kept an eye on me before I had it and we caught it early on.
If you haven't already I would set your account for diabetes. It helps you plan your meals correcly.
If you need help planning, email me at email@example.com I will gladly give you a sample menu :)
Take care of yourself.

If you accept someone else's idea of reality and personal limits, you'll have no control over your own destiny. You can only go as far as that view will let you.
Sorry about your health issues! SP has lots resources to help you regain your health. I hope your doctor / health care provider is also supportive. Get well soon!
So sorry to hear about your being diagnosed with Diabetes. Is it Type 1 or 2? My 14 y.o. grandson (who is far from being overweight is Type 1) and my brother-in-law is Type 2. They both eat very well and have learned to manage this medical condition.
Do check out the following link and join a team that deals with Diabetes. See which team you prefer.
Also every week I receive a newsletter from Spark People which deals with Diabetes. Go to your Start Page. At the top left corner, just under your Spark Name you will see a red link entitled Account/Email Management. Click on it.
When you're on the new page, click on the folder Email. Click.
Scroll down and check mark Diabetes Management.

I am so sorry to hear your bad news but the good news is you just might be able to diet your way out of this. There is so much excellent information on this site and you can sign up for a diabetic meal plan. Use your food tracker to track your carbs and the fitness tracker for your exercise. Let us know how you are doing. You might even want to check out the teams. I am sure there will be one for diabetics. Good luck!

I can't exercise until my foot heals then I have no problem
Problem is I don't know what to eat?
Do I count carbs, GI index, what?
