emoticon Hello there and emoticon to Spark People and to our team!

What I love on Spark People is that the support is unlimited! You need motivation, read up on the success stories and/or post a query and someone will be there to help you along. It is always difficult to start something new but Spark People make it so easy for us all to achieve our ultimate goals. Take it step by step: a) study the site, b) incorporate good habits from the beginning, c) start exercising, etc.

As co-leader of this team I recommend that you check out the following link. This will inform you as to what is available to you on Spark People. Very useful ... It will actually help you get set up on SP.

You go girl!!! It sounds like you're on the right track. I have lost weight & improved my general health in the past 4 1/2 years since joining SP, and I'm almost to my goal weight. My biggest need is motivation, and SP has plenty of that. The more time I spend on SP, reading articles, the more motivated I am and the easier it becomes to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Take this first week to familiarize yourself with the tools here. Once you get used to using them, it becomes easier to use them even when you are busy. Personally, I spent my first week learning to use the tools, and just tracking everything I was already eating and doing for exercise. It gave me a baseline to work from. It also gave me a chance to really decide what my goals were, and how to get there.

This site can only provide the support and the tools to reach these goals. You need to put the hard work in. Personally, I end up kicking my own butt every day. Feel free to check out my blogs to see how I kick my butt out the door to get my fitness in. I can tell you, once I am finished with my exercise for the day, I feel great. No more I should do this and I should do that. Instead, I feel accomplished, and able to relax and enjoy the rest of my day.

Hi this is my first week on SparkPeople. Four months ago I quit smoking - quit cold turkey. I was a pack a day smoker and smoked for over 20 years. After getting a chest cold and couldn't breathe I finally realized that I needed to quit smoking, I needed to be around for my girls. I needed to get healthier

That was September 24, 2012 now 4 months later and still smoke free, it's now time to address the weight gain. I'm not sure how many pounds I have put on - truth be told I haven't weighed myself. I'm afraid. I have always struggled with my weight - been on many diet plans - Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, Herballife. They have helped - but it's costly.

After a web search I found SparkPeople. I thought WOW, I know what it takes to loose weight. I need to count calories and exercise - this will help. So far I am surprised how much this has helped me. I am planning my meals, I'm drinking my water, need to do more exercise but I'M MOTIVATED. I'm not thinking in terms of failure but of success.

I'm looking forward to getting back into my thinner clothes. I looking forward to a healthier me. For my girls, my husband for ME.
