Welcome to SP & this team! My biggest issue is willpower too. Fortunately for us SP offers plenty of encouragement & motivation. I am almost down to my goal weight, and my health has shown marked imrovement from increasing my physical activity and improving my eating habits. I still have times when I do poorly with both diet & exercise, but SP is always just a couple clicks away with plenty of articles, team involvement, etc. to encourage me again.

Welcome to Sparkpeople. Be sure to take advantage of all the great free online sources available here, such as the nutrition and fitness trackers. Also, the online community is great. We are all here to offer support when you need it, or celebrate your successes with you.

Take this first week to familiarize yourself with the tools here. Once you get used to using them, it becomes easier to use them even when you are busy. Personally, I spent my first week learning to use the tools, and just tracking everything I was already eating and doing for exercise. It gave me a baseline to work from. It also gave me a chance to really decide what my goals were, and how to get there.
This site can only provide the support and the tools to reach these goals. You need to put the hard work in. Personally, I end up kicking my own butt every day. Feel free to check out my blogs to see how I kick my butt out the door to get my fitness in. I can tell you, once I am finished with my exercise for the day, I feel great. No more I should do this and I should do that. Instead, I feel accomplished, and able to relax and enjoy the rest of my day.

Hi and welcome to the team! Take the time to get familiar with this site and to get great healthy ideas and encouragements. Making small changes everyday and setting mini-goals should get you were you want to be!
What I love on Spark People is that the support is unlimited! You need motivation, read up on the success stories and/or post a query and someone will be there to help you along. It is always difficult to start something new but Spark People make it so easy for us all to achieve our ultimate goals. Take it step by step: a) study the site, b) incorporate good habits from the beginning, c) start exercising, etc.

I am turning 40 in a few weeks and so want this 15 lbs gone. I have yoyo dieted since I can remember and just want it off for good. I have no willpower and I love to eat. Everyone at my job is fit and eats healthy, but they like to bring any junk food they don't want, to work and I can't say no to it!! Help!!
