Take this first week to familiarize yourself with the tools here. Once you get used to using them, it becomes easier to use them even when you are busy. Personally, I spent my first week learning to use the tools, and just tracking everything I was already eating and doing for exercise. It gave me a baseline to work from. It also gave me a chance to really decide what my goals were, and how to get there.

This site can only provide the support and the tools to reach these goals. You need to put the hard work in. Personally, I end up kicking my own butt every day. Feel free to check out my blogs to see how I kick my butt out the door to get my fitness in. I can tell you, once I am finished with my exercise for the day, I feel great. No more I should do this and I should do that. Instead, I feel accomplished, and able to relax and enjoy the rest of my day.

emoticon Hello there and emoticon to Spark People and to our team!

What I love on Spark People is that the support is unlimited! You need motivation, read up on the success stories and/or post a query and someone will be there to help you along. It is always difficult to start something new but Spark People make it so easy for us all to achieve our ultimate goals. Take it step by step: a) study the site, b) incorporate good habits from the beginning, c) start exercising, etc.

All I can say about this site is that if it had not been for being active on Spark People, I would have more than likely gone back to my old habits. Being here and accountable to so many people keeps you on track. It makes you aware of everything that you put in your mouth and how active you remain. Since I feel SOOOO much better than a little over two years ago, I think I will remain here. This is meant to be a long trek to being healthier for the rest of your life.

As leader of this team I recommend that you check out the following link. This will inform you as to what is available to you on Spark People. Very useful ...

If you accept someone else's idea of reality and personal limits, you'll have no control over your own destiny. You can only go as far as that view will let you.

Hi I'm a bit of a skeptic, I've tried eating better, walking different speeds, different lengths of time and such, to no avail. So hoping to do something before I feel hopeless...have good feelings about this, it's working great for a friend of mine.
Blessings
