My name is Judy and I've been on Spark for a while and love it! I believe I joined this team after seeing it on Marinemama's page. I'm 43, married since 1995 and we have a DS who is 6 and in 1st grade. I work full time and try to balance the remainder of my nights and weekends as best I can with everything else that needs to get done!

Over the last 8 years I've gained 126 lbs. Partly due to menopause, but also because of eating differently than I had been plus a good bit of stress since 2009 when I almost lost my husband to congestive heart failure. He's still here thank God but he has a severly weak heart, so I tend to stress eat at times, especially in the evenings.
I'm really trying to get my body back down to a size I can be comfortable with. I no longer own a scale but can weigh at the fitness center. My last weigh in I was 257 lbs, from my all time high of 266 lbs, and I really would like to at least get back down to 196 lbs. That would still make me over weight but I'd be a lot healthier than I am now.

Returning Member...

I was a member of sparkpeople a couple times under different user names but since menopause, my thinking gets all screwed up and I let emotions get the best of me. So I end up dropping teams or leaving sparkpeople completely. But I'm back to stay this time, no matter what til I lose this weight.
I've set my goal to lose 100 lbs over the next 22 months. That might be wishful thinking but I feel if I can get my butt in gear, I CAN DO IT!
All encouragement and added support is appreciated.

Hi! I have been on spark for years now and am giving this one last try. I have about 100 to lose to get where I want to be, and am starting out cycling on a stationary bike. Yesterday was my first day back in the saddle again.

I haven't really yo-yoed with my weight. It's mainly been gain. I did manage to lose about 30 pounds about 2 years ago and gained about 15 of that back. I know how to do this, I just have trouble with motivation. Someone once said, like bathing, motivation doesn't last. That's why we recommend it daily.

I downloaded the sparkpeople apps and am mostly keeping track of my food and fitness through them at the moment. Today marks the first day I've signed in to spark since May.

You can't fail if you don't quit.

I've been on sparkpeople for awhile and I'm looking for a team that I can connect with and feel a big part of.
Due to breaking my right wrist 17 days ago and surgery 15 days ago to repair the damage, there are some things I simply can't do right now as I'm right handed. That makes simple chores and cooking a workout in itself. But I'm working to get back down to a weight where I can move more freely and hopefully get off blood pressure pills. Currently my goal is to get down to 200 lbs or less. I won't be thin by a long run but I will be a lot healthier than I am now.

hi I am new.. I feel very alone. not feeling very well these days. I seem to be very unmotivated, you see I have fibro and most days I am in pain, as a result, I get depressed and then I do not feel like doing anything. slow steady and everyday small steps can make a huge difference.
I began this journey more than a year ago
I started with 5 minutes every other day.. when it became easy I increased my time and change the routine slightly..
I have lost 30 pounds total to date and reset my spark page

I'm the heaviest I've ever been in my life and it's time I get back to a weight I know will be healthier for me. I'm working towards getting down to 185 lbs. I won't be thin but I'll be much healthier than I am now.

emoticon Thought I'd better introduce myself, for those that don't know me.
I'm Vicki and I live in Florida.
I'm working towards making the healthiest choices I can when it comes to taking care of myself.
I want to make exercise a top priority as I have a couple of health issues that exercise would improve. Also it would definately give me more energy.
I am basically trying to keep all my nutritional numbers within a set goal I think will work for me. It's not strictly any one specific program. If I had to push it, I'd be more inclined to say it's a lower carb plan.
I'm working to lose about 100 lbs but have no set time to lose it in. I'd love to lose it over the next couple of years, but I tend to be a very slow loser. So I'll take it one pound at a time.

Then in June I started a new realationship (he's a hour away) and school (FT) to become a surgical technologist. Now I am eating poorly, don't get my 8 glasses water or my excerise. Hate it! I would like to do that in the future, but as of right now I am laid up with PF and can not do any walking for a couple of wks. So as of now I'm just riding my indoor bike for cardio, but I miss my walks and can't wait to be able to walk again.

So glad that you have joined. Please feel free to start a thread anytime if you want to add a new challenge to the team...Maybe we could do a virtual walk?? I like to walk and or use my elliptical daily as well...let me know!!

My name is Laura and I joined the team because I like the food challenge! It's just the thing that I need!
I like to walk for cardio, also ride my indoor bike.
Do some strenght training, and toning.
