Hello everyone,

I am new to the team. This is my fourth time since 2007 starting SP. I am done quitting. I plan to lose the weight and keep it off. My first goal is to lose 60lbs by August 31, 2013. I am approximately 20lbs there. I am working out everyday and on a paleo diet. It is similar to a low carb but I do not consume grains or processed foods. I have celiac and PCOS but I did not join the those teams because I do not want to be defined by my health issues, I want to pursue good health. I wish everyone well on their journeys. emoticon

Hiya, I'm Cyndy M-. I'm a Mex-I-Can and a little white, but claim 100% Chicana. I live out in Houston, not by choice though. I am a widow with 2 doxies. I am majoring in Deaf Education. I love movies and going to the actual theaters (I mean like Broadway Plays and such).

1. WHY ARE YOU HERE ON "SPARKPEOPLE"?
I’m on sparkpeople, to lose weight and get healthier.

2. WHAT'S YOUR MOTIVATION FOR GETTING HEALTHY?
My motivation is this beautiful dress from Torrid… Not to mention, I would like to start dating at some point in the next year or so.

3. WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO REACH YOUR GOAL?
I’m watching what I eat, how much I eat, walk every day and do exercises on certain days of the week.

4. WHAT CAN THE LADIES AT MS. FAT DO TO HELP U DURING THIS JOURNEY?
Team Ms. FAT, I ask for support, encouragement, someone to stand by me when I’m down, to help me find my inner strength to stay on course and to kick my bum when I get off course.


I challenge myself...

To lose 2 pounds a week.

To sleep a full 8 hrs uninterrupted each night.

To go easy this holiday season and eat within my calorie range. I will have treats in moderation only.

To learn something new everyday.

To make time for myself.

To read a book that I want to.

To pay it forward to someone special in my life.

To strength my bond with God and tithe regularly.

Hey everyone, my name's Hannah. I haven't been on the message boards in a long time but I thought I'd give it a try. So far I've lost 60 lbs. I actually lost that like a year and a half ago and took a break. Over the last few months I've gained about 7 lbs of that back but I've lost that. I'm feeling really motivated to get back out there and lose the rest of the weight I want to. It's nice that there are some awesome people on here.

The "new" me is considering plastic surgery to get rid of excess skin from my former thickness-- and to put my boobies back where they go. Hello! my butt and thighs still don't want to fit in my jeans but my girls deflated? God has a strange sense of humor... Doesn't matter. I can fit in an airline seat, keep up with my 9 y.o. friend and make it up the stairs w/o feeling like I'm gonna pass out. Plus my boyfriend still looks at me the way he did when I was 294. Life is good! Still having trouble wrapping my mind around being a size 10 instead of a 26. Mostly I feel like the same person, just able to do more physically. That's a good thing b/c I've always liked who I am. If I can do it, anyone can.

I am going back home to visit in aug2012 and would love to be a size 12 or 14 (current size 16) I love my curves I have an hourglass shape that needs to boost its sexiness up. Greetings lovely ladies! My name is Christina and I live in sunny Southern Cali where on any given day of the year you see people in shorts....except for me I'm the girl dressed in black from head to toe even in the summer :) Thick legs and a booty to match is why I'm here and it's time for me to to shed this blanket of unhealthiness I carry with me every where. Over and over...I start over; win for a bit then I quit. As DivaCreated, change in 2011 was my motto my theme; in 2012 I'm going to just b me. I have discovered my inner being, my peace. Now, I will recreate my outer to spark a new look...a new me. Actually, not new getting back to the old while shedding this new...the new pounds that have safely called my body home. My family, for sure! I want to be around for a long time for them. And I want to be around for a long time for me too. I also want to buy clothes ANYWHERE! I love to buy clothes and it's not fun right now.

I want to be more conscience of what I'm eating and I want to make better choices. I don't want to say I can't have anything because that just makes me what that food even more. I want a life style change, not just drop a few lbs. I'd like in learn to incorperate exercise into my routine as well.

Jerzy going to the gym in a new state is excellent. Gets ppl watching you and you them and that's when the motivation kicks in. Good you tracking and I would suggest taking advantage of the SP fast tracks they help jump start that change you are looking for.

I am on here to get that encouragement that I need and to know there are others trying to obtain the same goals that I am really helps.

My motivation is that old picture that I keep looking at and I ask myself how could you let yourself go "AGAIN" and my daughter is my motivation. I want to be healthier and fit for her and myself.

3. WHAT R U DOING TO REACH YOUR GOAL?
I am changing the way that I am eating and I have finally started going to the gym after having a membership for 2 months. The eating part of it I am really struggling with because I love bread and potato chips.

4. WHAT CAN THE LADIES AT MS. FAT DO TO HELP U DURING THIS JOURNEY?
Stay on me and make me accountable. I am alone in a new state and I don't have any work out buddies here, another reason I joined the gym, but tracking what I eat and my exercise is really helping me stay focused. I need to stay focused for more than 1 month.

I came on spark people a year or so ago and lost weight. It was a good guide but I fell short... but the good thing is I'm back again with the mindset to stick with it. This time with my husband on my side trying to get his sexy back too. LOL

2. WHAT'S YOUR MOTIVATION FOR GETTING HEALTHY?
NUMBER 1 motivation is myself.... my health, my energy level, my esteem. I am doing this for ME first. Secondly my children and my husband. I have 3 small children (3.4.and 5 yrs old) and I honestly cannot keep up with them. It's not a good thing for a woman my age. My husband doesnt have much to loose but he is 10 yrs older than I and he runs circles around me. Its suppose to be the other way around. So, I've got some work to do and eager to do it.

3. WHAT R U DOING TO REACH YOUR GOAL?
I am starting with a complete lifestyle change... my eating habits and exercise... also trying to work on the ineer me as well,

Hello my sistahs! My name is Gloria and I live in Florida. I'm married (18 yrs and counting) to a wonderful man and we have one beautiful daughter who was diagnosed with a rare kidney disease when she was 11 yrs old (5 years ago). For two years, I had to hook her up to a machine for 11 hours every night. As a result, I didn't take care of myself and I was diagnosed with Type II Diabetes. Life sometimes can be hard and challenging, but God is good!

Y r u on "Sparkpeople"? After watching Dr. Oz , I purchased his book, You On A Diet. There was a mention of a free website designed to help people shed unwanted, unhealthy weight and live longer, healthier lives. It was "Sparkpeople."

What's your motivation for getting healthy? First, to be fit and healthy. Our bodies are the "temple of the Lord." Second, to be here for my daughter and watch her grow and be successful (she's a gifted, artistic child who wants to be a fashion designer/chef/writer).
Third, to "get my sexy back" and to "rock" my husband's world!

What r u doing to reach your goal? First, eating 3 meals and 2 snacks per day, tracking what I eat on spark and using a food journal. Second, drinking water, water, and more water. Third, exercising using Leslie Sansone's Walking Tapes 3 x's per week and strength training 3 x's per week. Fourth, logging in and participating on Sparkpeople. Fifth, getting a least 7 hours of sleep every night (my daughter received a kidney transplant in 2009 so no more waking up every hour on the hour at night!)

What can the Ladies at Miss F.A.T. do to help u during this journey? Prayer, Motivation, Accountability & Encouragement lead to success!

Hello, I'm fairly new to Spark people..... I looked at myself in the mirror the other day and no longer felt FABULOUS.... I want to lose this weight to feel more confident about myself and to be able to do more with my children. I'm starting slow. Trying to avoid temptations such as fast food and chocololate (my weakness). I'm going to challenge myself to do my "walk away the pounds" video (which I love) everyday, take my vitamins and drink water. I'm hoping that through Spark People I can meet others who can keep me motivated to get this weight off! I always start strong and then quit.... and I'm fortunate to have a lot of "skinny" friends who just don't get it.... and a lot of "heavier" friends who just don't care... food is all around me... we celebrate with food, we grieve with food and everything in between is done with FOOD.... I don't want to be the fat, frumpy mom that my kids are ashamed of. I'm ready to be the good looking mama that they are proud of!!

SIZESEXYDIVA76...If you are committed to this process and honest, SparkPeople will be the best, free tool ever. I joined in 2006 and went from 243 to 182. I fell off and gained 35 pounds. Let me start off with a brief Intro B4 the answering of Q? ...... My name is Kristie and I'm 31 years old ..... I live in South Carolina and I have 5 Beautiful but Bad (lol) children who drive me crazy everyday of the week!!!

Okay Now the Q?.......

1) Why are you here on Spark?

Well in short ...... to get healthy and lose weight. I've been big as far back as I can remember and its starting to become a problem. I aint tryin to be a size 2 or skin and bones; I just want to lose the fat while keeping some curves ...... being thick is one thing but having rolls is another (lol).

2) Whats your motivation for getting Healthy?

Not to sound vain or shallow .... but looking better is on top of the list (lol). But really, its mostly so I will be healthier, have more energy, and be around longer for my kids!!!

3) What your goals & what are you doing to reach them?

Well my ultimate goal is to lose about 80pounds ..... or somewhere close to that range, but I have mini goals along the way ..... I have to take baby step ... lots and lots of baby steps (lol). As of right now .... I've started eating healthy and monitoring my portions, drinking 8 glasses of water ( which is hard for some reason), walking everyday, exercising, and charting my meals, calories, and workouts.

4) What can the ladies at "Ms F.A.T" do to help you during this Journey?

I'm gonna be real ..... for me Exercising and Eating healthy is difficult. I'm pretty lazy sometimes and I love me some food ..... I mean I was brought up on everything fried, lots of breads and starches, good Southern home cookin ..... Shoot, if you've been eatin that way ur whole life its hard to break out the habit. So what I'm hoping I can find from The "F.A.T" group is the motivation and encouragement to stay on track .... I need someone to hold me accountable ..... to put a foot in my a** when I start slippin. Plus its nice to know I can talk to others who are on the same road ..... I could have just said support and it would have been a lot shorter (lol) .....

hello everyone,how is everyone doing.am here to get help and support,on finishing my journally,i have lost some,but need to take off more and can't seem to do it on my own.i have started seeing a wellness coach throught my doctor,and throught the program .i get to work out with a personally trainer which i go see twice a weekand every two-week i go to her and get weight in.but i need more,so am here seeking help.i use to weight 300pounds.lost fifty.and was at a stand still,and two-week's ago took off only 3,and i was very disappointed with myself .because in my heart i felted i could have and should have done better.that's where i need help at.so i can change things and do better,am trying to get off blood presuure meds.so please help me reach my goal weight.

My name is Sheree, and I have always been a big girl.... I do no want that to change. approx 25 yrs ago I was diagnosed with lupus and went through a horrible state of depression. I thought life was over as I knew it. Very few ppl had reported a quality of life after being diagnosed. So much haschanged but I got to over 350 lbs and I stopped weighing there. I remember my Dr telling me to get on the scale and I told him that when he could pick me up and put me on the scale that I would weigh. I became fearful when I went to Fashion Bug to shop and found myself in the largest size to the store. I remember going home and crying. It took me two years but I lost 140 lbs and was in a size 16W or 18. Three years ago, in April, I had a stroke it took me six months to get my balance back. When you're horrible depression because I was only 41 at the time. I was sedetary and depresed and ate everything that I wanted, and went nowhere. I went back to work. Went back to driving my stick shift. Since then I've gained 80 lbs and have regained a lot of my mobility and would like to lose the weight. I am looking for support and weight loss buddies to help me with this. I am currently using the book "What Would Jesus Eat?" By Don Colbert and is loosely based on Mediterranean Diet. I spoke to my Dr. who had also suggested Mediterranean diet, because of my stroke. I happen to be a Wal-Mart and see a book by Don Colbert called "I Can Do This Diet". My husband has moved my Wii so that I can use it for exercise. This is how I got most of my balance back after the stroke. I look forward to being a member of this team and hope that combines support here to work on my weight loss goals.

Hello everyone, I am a new me!!!! even on my bad daysemoticon I pay more attention to me and what I am doing and not going off the deep end when it comes to eating out that was my problem also along with not working out, now I cook only healthy meals we don't eat out ANYMORE at least not right now maybe in the future. I have gotten stronger in the workout area, I know this is why my weight was not dropping. I love me and I have the most respect for what I want and will accomplish for my future.

Hello my name is Cherry and I am here to lose weight so that I will become healthier, look better, and be a better example for my daughter and for the women that I minister to. I am eating healthier by increasing my fruit and vegetables, reducing my sodium intake, excersing and drinking more water. I believe that the members of Miss F.A.T. will be an excellent group for motivation and encouragement.

Thanks sure will dive right in, I need all the motivation I can get. I accidently hit leave the group and had to rejoin...sorry, I didn't mean to do that, moving a hundred-per as usual. I am 50 something and have type2 diabetes for the last 10 years, but am still managing on oral meds and have not had to go on insulin, and trying to avoid that for as long as possibe, if I can get at least 75 pounds off I will be feeling a lot better, but its seems its getting harder the older i get! So if you are young get at it and stay at it! It's easier when your young, metabolism is much better. If I would of only listened to my doctor 10 years ago and got the weight off since I was over a hundred pounds lighter at the time. Well, since I have been posting online and keeping my food journal, fitness journal I believe I am doing and feeling better already. An example today at the office a gal brought left over goodies from her daughters graduation party and I took one bite out of a cookie and threw the rest in the garbage wrapped in a napkin so no one would see....I still have this thing about wasting food. Anyway if I weren't doing this I was thinking I would of probably ate that cookie and a lot of everything else. This is going to be a good thing for me. I choose Wonderwoman as my pic for now, it gives me strength. I look forward to getting to know you guys. Thanks for the welcome

Hi I have been with Sparkpeople since it all started years ago, but haven't been active for the past years, since I have been busy taking care of sick parents who have since passed on, so now its me time, time to get back into a routine for me.

1. Y R U HERE ON "SPARKPEOPLE"? I need structure. If left to my own devices I will eat until I wobble.

2. WHAT'S YOUR MOTIVATION FOR GETTING HEALTHY? My sparky 9 year old son is my first motivation. He wants me to run, toss, lift and drop just like him. (God help me!) Shopping is my second. If I come across one more mumu dress I will lose my mind. I hate the clothes for Big Girls in Baton Rouge.

WHAT R U DOING TO REACH YOUR GOAL? I really think about what I am putting in my mouth and how much it is going to cost me. Great dessert and bland dinner. Or Great dinner and a graham cracker...choices..choices.

WHAT CAN THE LADIES AT MS. FAT DO TO HELP U DURING THIS JOURNEY? Just knowing somebody else out there has to work at it helps. I know if you can do, I can do it.

Hello everyone, my name is Angelina. I have been visiting Sparks People for about a year now, but didn't really utilized it much. I haven't introduced myself to this forum or any other. I was attending school and it took up so much time driving for 4 years, 3 hours round trip and with the homework and research, I didn't have much time for much of anything. I have graduated and now, I feel that I have time for myself! My knee injury is still healing and I have pain in it, but I have a treadmill and once I get my house in order (so cluttered) I can begin the exercise aspect of my weight loss plan. I bought the Richard Simmons "Sweatin to the Oldies" hopefully I can attempt it also. I have been eating a lot of fiber in bread, beans, flax seed, dairy and lots of water. My weakness is still an occasional coke. I am older and I have to lose this weight to see my youngest daughter marry & have children, one day. I did lose 34 lbs, but my skin is so loose and wobblely, not attractive...When I was in high school, I weighed 125, after the pregnancy & birth of my first born son, I ballooned to 192! Through the years, I gained weight, some because of injuries, some from just over eating and inactivity. In the past 10 years I gained because of some disabilities that have prevented me from doing so much that I used to do. Also, borderline diabetes. I welcome any buddies, I am willing to support others, just as I am willing to receive support. I have been yo-yo dieting all my adult life but I have never really had the support. I appreciate any input! Thanks emoticon to all!
