Some days are easier than others but at least we're working together.

Hi, I'm back. Hope to be able to stay involved with sparkpeople this time around. Still having computer issues but will do what I can.
To those that don't know me and a reminder to those that do, I'm Vicki. I'm 57 years old and have about 68 lbs to lose. I only lost 6 lbs in 2013 so am really hoping to do much better this year.
I am married to Bob and he's just had to get a pacemaker/defibrullator in March, and is still adjusting to having a very weak heart (20% heart strength), so I tend to stress over his health a lot, and when I'm stressing out, I tend to eat more than I should. So I will be working on making healthier food choices over time.

Hi Renee (and others, if your'e out there).

I think my relationship with weight is so unhealthy. There are a lot of reasons that I re-gain what I have lost, but the main thing is emotional and stress eating. I use food as a crutch to avoid dealing with things. It's the one comfort when things suck, you know? Not only that, but it's a big focus during good times too- celebrating with a cake (and not just on birthdays!), going out for dinner, drinks, having people over and not wanting to "diet", etc. Depression has been an issue for me in the past as well.

I hope and pray this time is different. But I've said that before. :(

It does help to talk to others who've been there. I've been active on boards before and people had never really had success and jumped from one plan to another, or didn't have much to lose in the first place, so it's hard to find someone who knows exactly what I'm going through.

I know there are people like us out there who've lost, then gained, then lost, then, gained, etc. Hope we find some more, but in the meantime I'd love to chat with you!

Yeah the board gets read, just not a lot of activity..... Oh well this is my little hole that I want to remind myself to stay out of (again)! Leah out of curiosity do you know why you gain it back? I have analyzed why have and I am sure hoping to avoid those pitfalls again. The first time I wasn't ready to see my body make all those changes and my relationship with food helped me with a layoff which cut my salary by 40% when I took a crapier job. Food kept my brain from showing my suffering on the outside and punished myself on the inside. The second time my stepfather died and my coping mechanism again was food and other (mental issues) Most of the depression from that has gone, but it is still hard at times...try working out while crying IT SUCKS! So tell me more about yourself, you can post on my page, email me here...whatever you want. Later.

I hope people are still reading this board. You'd think there would be more of us in this situation! The title of the team is exactly where I fit in.... I've lost significant weight TWICE just to gain it all back, plus more.

I'll save the whole story to see if anyone is out there.

My name is Kitty and I lose weight twice to only gain it back again. The first time was in 2008 and the second time in 2010. Both times I was very successful in losing, but after a time, started gaining the weight back. And thatís where I am today, at 218 lbs. I saw your group and thought this is a group of people who have lost weight and gained it back and know how it feels to have to begin again. So Iím here, Iíve dried by tears and am ready to start my new weight loss journey.

Hello emoticon saw your TEAM name and since it's the title of my page I thought I would check it out!

In 1996 I lost over 100 lbs but.... by 2002 I had put it back on plus another 15 pounds. Then in 2007 I lost over 100 lbs and by 2010 I had put all but, 20lbs back on .... Over the last year I have lost 40 lbs and I plan to lose my remaining 70 this year....I have a new plan that will hopefully keep me from gaining it back yet again!

emoticon You will eventually get there, I myself don't know how the journey will be. I just hope when I finish my house I can focus on me again, and stop the repetative food overeating that I do, like I have the right once I am below 200 to do the same bad eating habits that got me here!

My name is Renee and I have weighed less than 200 pounds twice since I started to seriously lose weight. December 2009, and then again April 2011. The last time April, I have gained back 26 lbs. It started after my final weigh-in, in a competition where I got 8th place out of over 190 people, my reward went from one evening to a week, to 2 weeks, to my relative dying and then that has snow balled to over 2 months and pulling the reigns is hard! I have to see past 199lbs being a goal, I need to focus on my real goal of 135 and continually healthy and athletic! I want this time to be the last time to be in the 200's.
