I apologize for not seeing this earlier...
You can do it! I lost ten pounds (on my way to 50) by just eating healthier and throwing exercise into the mix. I know others who are on SP who have lost in excess of 100 just by creating a healthier lifestyle. Fad diets just don't work long term. They are great for a short term weight loss, but oh, what it can do to your insides. Choosing better food options, throwing veggies and water into that, and beginning an exercise routine...now that is an awesome thing. And I bet you will feel amazingly better after only a couple of weeks.
Please let me know if you have any questions or need any motivation! I still have a long way to go, but I've felt that "oh my goodness, it's working" feeling, and the good habits get easier, you'll begin to miss exercise, and oh, I just can't say enough good things about living healthy!
