I would suggest you look through the teams and find a couple that interest you. Some of the teams actually have challenges that keep you more active than you normally would be. The website has so much to offer, but don't get overwhelmed by it. Just take it at your own pace!

For a first post, you picked a slow board...not a lot of activity here, I only check it every couple of weeks. Just warning you. You may not see to replies here.
You have come the right place. This site really teaches us what it is to lose weight and feel better. If you like the social aspect, that abounds here as well. Best advice I can give you is to be honest with yourself and log all of your meals. It can really put it in perspective. You do not have to starve yourself with this plan, they actually encourage to eat, but to eat the right things in the right portions. And one last note, do not get discouraged when you do not lose 50 pounds in the first month, fast weight loss is not sustainable weight loss. This is definitely a journey, not a race.

Hi, guys! I've never posted on a message board before, but I think it's about time I start. I'm currently weighing in at about 200 lbs- a number I thought I'd never see, and a number that I am so ashamed to even look at. My "goal" weight is 135. But if I find that, at 150 or so, I feel and look the way I've always dreamed, I'll be more than happy with that! I have no idea what it's like to be slim-no concept of what it's like to sit down and not have my stomach pour over my pants. Even as a child, I was always "pleasantly plump". There was nothing pleasant about it, though. So anyway...that's why I'm here. I'm here because nothing else has worked. Because if I don't lose weight this time, I don't know if I ever will. I need the support of others who know what it's like to be heavy and who are trying to lose the weight, too. So, here I am, SparkPeople! :)
