So glad that you found the team and welcome to your second week of Spark People!
Though I'm almost a couple of decades older than you, I can relate to entering education a little after the traditional 22-year-old. I've been teaching ten years now and must say that there are HUGE advantages to starting your teaching career when you're a little more mature.
Having a healthy eating plan is wise as you enter student-teaching. It IS possible to eat healthily without spending an enormous amount of time AND avoiding the super-high-calorie fast food places. I tend to cook several meals at once and then freeze them, so when I'm exhausted at the end of a day, I pull out a fresh meal that just needs to be heated. (My husband and son still haven't figured out that the reason I can get dinner on the table in 30 minutes is because the big things were already cooked and frozen!)
Good luck to you and call on me if you need support!

Oh wow. I am kind of late to this 'class of' feature. I think the clock just ticked over and I'm officially in my 2nd week of SP.
My name is Alana. I'm a 34 year old first time college student studying to teach elementary school. I've made it to my senior year along with 15 extra pounds. I'm hoping to drop 10 of them by the end of the year, and we'll see how I feel after that.
I love cooking and all kinds of really geeky pastimes including tabletop role-playing, costuming, and comic books.
I am seriously looking for support on this website, so please feel free to add me as a friend or whatever. I am on line A LOT and will respond with support in kind. Thank you!
