Welcome to Spark People! While you'll discover that a majority join SP for the weight reduction support, you'll definitely find plenty of new friends who are maintaining a healthy weight and are here for the same reason that you are. I'l be honest that I had a little difficulty transitioning from having a wonderful support network of Spark friends focused on losing weight to groups that could support healthy eating without focusing on reduction. It may be easier for you because you'll be drawn to groups of maintainers from the beginning. Some "maintenance" groups are much more active than others. I am new to Spark People, but not to weight loss. I've spent this summer participating in a 12-week local healthy weight challenge and with just under 2 weeks remaining, find myself closer than I've been in over 20 years to a 'healthy' weight. To continue my journey, I wanted to find a way to remain accountable and have resources and support available.

I am hoping that my momentum continues as a result of joining this site and that, upon reaching a healthy weight, I am able to maintain it and become a resource to others facing similar weight and health challenges.
