I wanted to thank you for joining us on our journey to a healthy lifestyle one mouthful at a time. We are not dieting; we are changing our relationship with food. We begin with examining our relationship with food. Then we will learn to make the right food choices. Finally, exercise along with healthy portion sizes, caloric and fat intake, and nutritional values are the only other tools needed for your new healthy lifestyle.
Please post your experiences with food, dieting, healthy recipes and exercise. I am sure we all have a mouthful of experiences and ideas that will help someone else. We are all here to support and encourage our teammates. Input from all team members is appreciated.
My name is Carmen. I have been married for 17 years and have two great children. I have battled with my weight most of my life. Childhood traumas set in motion the chain of events that have lead me to where I am now. I am now in my 40s and my body is signaling to me that it is tired of carrying around the extra pounds. Various medical problems are developing which I need to get under control or it will kill me. I have tried many of the diets on the market and they do work TEMPORARILY. This time I decided that I am not going to diet, but eat healthy. I am making a lifestyle change. I come from a long line of cooks and food in my family is always in the forefront. In fact, baking and trying new recipes is what I do on the weekend. On this journey I am not going to stop what I enjoy by I am going to make better choices. My first personal goal is to lose 30 pounds by the end of November, which is about 5 pounds a month. I will post my progress monthly GOOD or BAD.
