I'm Maria(MJ), 35 and from MA. I used sparkpeople years ago and have decided to come back. I lost 20 lbs during the summer and fall, but hit a road block on my journey to becoming healthy and fit. I've been on a rollercoaster ride when it comes to eating and exercising. I've maintained my current weight since losing 20 lbs, but I'm ready to get past that road block and finish what I started.

Hello, my name is Karin, 45 yo, 5' 3". My priority is to tone up and lose about 9 pounds, maybe even 13. I eat pretty healthy but weight has been climbing up these past few years (maybe age, maybe thyroid, maybe metabolism, maybe stress). I felt my best at around 105 but I will be happy with just looking firm and in shape at whatever weight I reach. I'm so glad to have found this team

49 y/o mother of 4 who turns 50 !! in July. I've struggled with eating disorders since 15. I am 5'3" and 124 now and I say I'm perfect. Adult weight range from 105 - 146 (post-baby). I used to think 112 was my ideal weight but I gave that up and I accept my body for what it is. Measurements 35 - 29 - 37 just fine with me. I have been 12 % to 33 % body fat. At the leanest, I admit I looked awful. I tried it all - running, aerobics, kickboxing, biking, weight training, kettle ball, yoga, pilates....Just want to testify I am happier now with a bit of cushion and freedom from obsession. Word of wisdom, if you struggle every day to get to your sweet spot weight, it just may not be worth it. For me, I just want to be healthy and keep kickin' it as an oldish woman. Life is good!

Hello everyone! I am 5'3" and have been on SP a little over a year. A 55+ gal who has worked off 25 pounds (give/take, depending on the day) with another 20 to go, it's nice to find a group who recognizes the unique challenges we face. My "baby" is a college senior, measuring in at a whopping 5' ... and she totally blames me for her stature. So I'm in this for both of us. Looking forward to meeting the group and sharing success stories and suggestions. -Sharon

I'm Lauren, just turned 26. I'm 4'8" and just looking to lose a good 10-15lbs of fat and tone myself up a bit. I've been on SP for quite a while (years) but have only recently made the decision to get in shape once and for all. I'm tired of clothes that should fit being too tight. I'd like to feel comfortable in a bikini (or even tankini!) My biggest problem area is definitely my stomach--muffin top, for sure haha. I just ordered the GoFit Gravity Straps to complete the exercise program in the Petite Advantage Diet book. Hopefully this works, because a half hour a day on the elliptical sure hasn't. My greatest challenge has always been eating right. I have a big sweet tooth and like my carbs waaaay too much.
Anyway, looking forward to kicking my squishy self into shape with you guys!

I''m 5 ft even and 55 yrs. old. I've been here on SP since August of 2011. I'm glad to have found yet another group with whom I share qualities in common.
Being an apple shape, shopping is always difficult because what fits in the waist is usually too big elsewhere. Further, clothing for 5" 4' and under are generally not for the "under" so everything is too long. Maybe I'll learn to sew. (NOT!!!)

Hello! I am 5'2" and are trying to get down to what is healthy for my size.
I live in Baltimore, MD and work with the public school system as a speech therapist. I live with my husband and two spoiled rescue dogs in the city. I've just gotten into running with the C25K program and I will run my first 5k in mid August. I'm also a vegan. :)
It's nice to see a group that talks about the frustrations and difficulties with being such a small frame with such a BIG love for food. :)

Hi there everyone I have been on Sparkpeople now for about 3 weeks now and i am so glad i found it. I am 5'2 in height 40 years old single mom,& my goal is to lose weight be fit for life. So far i am doing power walking and i am adding on jogging i do this for 1 hour. Starting August i am going to be doing Jillian Michael DVDs ripped in 30 and Shred it with weights. I would like to lose 15 pounds in Aug.So I am joining teams now to meet people get advice support and motivation.

I've been on SP regularly since early June of this year. I have struggled with my weight since I was a teenager, I'd lose and be very thin and then regain weight. I began exercising regularly and eating more healthfully in my late 20's and for a long time my weight didn't seem to be a huge issue. As I entered my 40's the pounds began creeping on, then I'd diet, then back on...I just turned 50 this year and decided that I needed to find a better way...I might even have to count calories! Since re-joining SP in June I have lost about 8 pounds. I really like all the resources on the site, it makes making good choices for my health easier.
I joined this team because I'm hoping that I'll find some friends who can relate to the challenges of finding clothes/styles that are flattering to a shorter woman. I'm 5' 2 3/4 (yep, you can always tell a shorter person by the addition of the fraction of an inch!). I've been married to my sweetie for 24 years and we have two children, both are college students, one married. As of a year ago, I 've been a full-time homemaker and am loving it!
I love to exercise at home, my favorites are walking, pilates and yoga, though I'll throw in some TaeBo workout DVD's now and then.
So that's a little bit about me. Hoping to get to know some of you!
