Welcome Barbara. We seem to share some similar things. Of course, who doesn't love Indy Girl. LOL She has inspired me from the first day I joined Spark People. I also have fibromyalgia and have constant pain in my hip. I am 65 and have one son who has 2 boys who are the light of my life. I am also married to a wonderful and supportive husband.

Welcome Barbara, I only blog when I am bursting to share. Sometimes that is 3 days in a row and sometimes only once a month. Let your feelings carry you in that regard. I love Indy's team too and follow her blog.

Hi Barbara, I am in a big hurry to get this weight off quickly but I have found that concentrating on one day at a time is manageable. I get up every morning and thing about THAT day ALL day. The time goes by and I inch along. The main thing is that I am still inching a long.....
my name is Barbara and I am new to this team! I have been on SP for a few months and am really struggling right now. When I first came to SP I read Indygirls story and found such inspriation from the story and then other posts of hers I have read. Always wondered how to join her Team, and for some reason never found the way until a day or two ago. I am 72 years old, was a single mother of a boy who has grown up to be a incredible man with 3 lovely children. 30 years ago I married again to a really wonderful man and we have had a good life together. 20 years ago I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and had to stop working. Being exhausted and in pain all the time (oh yeah, I have arthritis throughout my body) limited my my life considerably and I started gaining weight. At first I thought I needed to lose 100 lbs. but reality set in and when I finally accepted the fact that I will never be the person I was in school I set a more reasonable goal of losing 80 lbs. That is still alot and it means I need to find some ways to exercise that don't cause too much pain, along with eating less. The good news is I have lost 10 lbs, but of course I want to lose it faster! I haven't really blogged much on SP because not only am I very private, but I really don't know what to say that would be of interest or encouraging to anyone else. Hopefully on this team I will learn to be less private and more positive! I know that together ! Blessings and to all! B-
