Thanks for the Skype/Grandchildren advice! I have Skype, but unfortunately NOT fast internet...My satellite internet is fast enough to feed the audio... kind of.... but doesn't really support the the video. I'm not complaining, I love living out in the country, but "facts is facts!" There is no FAST internet available! However, Liam is 3 1/2 now, so we can talk on the phone a LITTLE bit. Raleigh, on the other hand, is only 21 months old.... so we're not up to phone conversations yet!
I will check out the goals on the IndyGirl page. Again, THANKS SO VERY, VERY, MUCH for making me feel so welcome!
Welcome Teresa, this is a great team. I hope that you will jump in and get to know us and do some of the exercising and challenges. It really does help to have the support on this journey to a healthier you.
You spoke about not seeing your family as often as you would like. My husband and I use SKYPE there is also another computer program to connect with friends, family etc. Its called Oovoo, but I find it is not as good as SKYPE. My husband has family in Australia and in the USA we connect on SKYPE and it is free, just remember to use the video button and NOT the call or you will get a charge! We are in Mass. right now and our children and grandchildren are in Upstate NY and we also use SKYPE to connect with them. We love it.

Hi Teresa. Welcome to the team. This is a great team. I was born raised and never left CT. It's not that I don't want to, just can't afford to. I keep saying that God forbid when my Mom is gone I am outta here.

I am so glad you came to intro yourself..... Thats awesome! I am a Texas girl born and bred...... but I really love Florida. I have a friend/sister living in south Florida and my husband had several classes in Pennsicola Florida. We had a great time there but of course it sleeted during our last stay. We fished anyway!
It's great to learn where everyone is from. Sometimes we have people right on our back door step and never realize it
from northern Wisconsin....hope you think about us!!!!

welcome teresa.. i am in no way profiting from this but want to put in a plug about skype. my sil uses it all the time to skype with her daughter and gkids that she only sees a couple times a year. they do it just about daily and always for chirstmas and birthdays when she can't be there. something to think about when the grands go further away from you.
I'm a former Indy Girl too. Grew up in Shelbyville and moved to Texas when I was 19. Like you, I lost almost 40 pounds in 2010, slacked off from the site and all but 10 found me again. I know that I have to keep this up or I won't succeed. I'm counting calories and exercising and it works for me.
Keep in touch with us for motivation and you can help us too.
Well, I am a Florida Girl, so I don't think I'll be working out with any of you Indy Gals. I am however, an Indy Girl by birth, and grew up near Fall Creek, on Indian Lake Rd. I lived there all 12 years of my life until moving to Sarasota, Florida in 1975. It seems I only get "home" every couple of years or so when my family has their yearly reunion at the park in Fortville.
I lost 50 lbs on SP about 3 years ago... but gradually the weight "found" me again. I am 50 years old, am a second grade teacher. I would like to be more healthy and slimmer. I am an empty-nester with two grown children and two lovely grandchildren. The "kids" are moving to Fort Lewis, WA (state) from Fort Bragg, NC (army life) and I won't have the luxury of the visits every 2-3 months, that we've enjoyed since their births.
I work long hours and often am not home in time to get outside and ride my bike or walk (my fav forms of exercise). However, spring is here and the daylight is lasting longer! I am tracking calories on SP and basically eat a "Zone" diet..... eating limited carbs, unless they're "good ones" like fruits and veggies.
Good luck to all of you! Thanks, Debbie for the warm welcome! Teresa
