Yes, most of the time if they get something they know I like, they wait until I am in bed. The problem is that I am up and down all night and I run accross them without even trying. But they problem is also mine to control......
Hi Audrey. Welcome to the team. It seems like Beth is everyone's motivation. I read a daily spark written by her when I joined and it made me cry. She has been the wind beneath my wings ever since. I talked to her on the phone once and I told her that one day I would meet her and Spark Guy in person and personally thank them for what they have done for me.
I live alone, which I am beginning to think is a good thing. I don't know if I would have been able to do it if I couldn't control what came into the house. If someone eats something I want in front of me, I want it too, especially in the very beginning. I noticed at Christmas I was better able to control that.
You posted that you can hear them after you go to bed. Do they wait until you are in bed. At least they don't eat in front of you. That is a good thing.

Audrey I have difficulties with snacking. BIG difficulties and there are 4 other adults here in my home besides me. I can hear them crinkling in the kitchen and livingroom at night while I am in bed. Every single adult in this house needs to lose weight. 3 of us are actively trying, 1 is half heartedly trying, and 1 wants what everyone else is NOT nibbling on...... LOL
Do not give up what you want the most for what you want at the moment.

Hi and welcome! I know what you mean about your Dad and the cookies - my daughter loves sweets and chocolate just like I do, but she doesn't overeat them like me (I'm an emotional eater). She can have a bag of chocolate candy in her room for days or even weeks and not eat any. There's no way in the world I can do that. I've had her hide her candy from me many, many times! It is tough when others in the home don't need to lose. You hate to "forbid" them to have treats, but it sure is hard to resist when the treats are so close by!
Hang in there - together, we can do this!!!

Welcome Audrey ... I joined this team as well after I had read Indy's (Beth) blog. She is so inspiring to me and if she can do it, hopefully so can I. We both have some disabillities, she has found a way to exercise and lose the lbs, so no I have to do the same !
I've lost weight on Spars before, I had a problem then but could walk on my own at least. Now that my disease has been diagnosed further and worsened, I'm less active so it makes it difficult to lose the weight.
There is great support on sparks and I have no doubt that you will be able to do it..

I signed in today to get my points and track my breakfast and I saw a blog from indygirl. I couldn't not join this team after reading that. I am from Northern Ms. I've been married for 38yrs this Feb have 3 grown crazy daughter, 7 wonderful (ok most of the time) grandchildren, 1 dog & 1 cat. My Dad & brother in law live with us so we have a full house. I have been on this diet roller coaster for at least 33 years (youngest daughter) lol. Our 2 grown daughters & oldest granddaughter are overweight so I am hoping this motivates them. I am trying a new approach this time I have really not cut out any foods just limit the portion sizes and haw often I eat the bad stuff. I love tracking my food because it holds me accountable. I can go back and see how I have done over time with everything. I really look forward to getting to know everyone and learning from you. My main problem is no one in the house really needs to lose weight so it's hard not to have goodies around my dad is a cookie monster.
