Hi my name is Sharon I have over 50 pounds to lose. I joined this team because I am tired of being so fat and wanting to hide myself. It is hard walking because I get short of breath and my knees as well as my back hurt. So here I am ready to see less of me...to be a REAL LOSER!!

Hello everyone, my name is Samantha. I have been on and off with SP for years and haven't had much luck and I know I need to focus more. Having an accountability partner I think would help. I can text, fb, SP message whatever. I have over 100 pounds to lose and I want them gone!

Hi everyone, my name is Gwen. I have been up/down on this weight loss journey for many years. I saw Indygirl/Dreeamseeker's blogs about this challenge of losing 60-100 lbs in 1 year; I felt this would be a great team to be a part of. I have between 46-50 lbs to get rid of and I am ready for this challenge!!!!

Hi, all - I'm Amanda. I've been a member of SP since November 2010. I'm usually more active on SP when I'm having success with my weight and overall wellness. I'm excited to meet people on this team and support each other on this wellness journey! emoticon

Hello everyone! I've been a member off and on of SP for many years, without much success. I'm going to get it right this time! I hope getting involved in Sparkteams will help me be more accountable. This seems like a great team that has done a great job. I hope to be encouraged and encourage others as fellow travelers on our journey towards health.

Hi Everyone... I have been a member of Sparkpeople for about a year but kept leaving and coming back. I am here and want to stay here this time. I am trying to be more involved with the Sparkteams and forums in hopes it will keep me coming back more frequently.

I had a rough beginning to my week... after relying on a very unreliable scale I purchased a new one and discovered I was much higher, not only than I thought I was, but higher than I've ever been... and believe me... that was a tough and bitter pill to swallow.

I am trying not to let my new number affect me... I'm trying to stay positive and start from here.

I look forward to getting acquainted with each of you and working with you on our journeys to healthier me's.

Hi team!
I am disabled and living with chronic pain. (41yrs. in a wheelchair due to a spinal cord injury. and suffering with pain since 1985.) This past year I have been home bound and bed ridden.
When I read Beth's story or journey it inspired me to do "something".
I am seeing a new pain dr. and am going to out patient therapy 2 times a week. And am responsible for a third time on my own at home. I sure wish that I could have found this therapist over 30 yrs. ago. But, that is the past and we all have to live in the present - so here I am.
I am looking forward to the interchange of encouragement here in this team.
So, hello team members - new and not so new. We can do this!

Hi! I'm Leslie. I'm 66 years old and have been obese practically my entire life. I weighed 90 pounds in second grade, 202 as a sophomore in high school, 235 when I graduated, and have weighed as much as 272 several times. I'm a classic yoyo dieter and have been a member of Weight Watchers, Diet Workshop, and TOPS. I've also been in therapy several time. When I finally got under 200 pounds, I was in my early 60s, but that didn't last long. I've gotten down to 192, 188, and 180 twice. Right now, I'm around 190 and have vowed, along with another SP member, to be in the 180s by the end of the month. At this time, I'm seeing a psychologist and working with a personal trainer twice a week. I've changed the way I look at exercise, but the nutrition aspect is still a major challenge.

I'm looking forward to be part of this team.

Hello everyone -- My name is Karen -- I was a SP member a few years ago, but left and then regained the weight (actually yo-yoed up and down several times since then). I am back and determined to learn to lose it again and somehow not regain it all. Glad to be here!

Hi, everyone! I think I've been a member of this team before, also - probably under the name of ENERGIZER_BUNNY. As you can see, I'm now ENTIRELYBEVERLY - but you can call me Beverly or EB (a hold over from the energizer bunny age!)!

I dropped out of SP for several months because my mother was in the process of passing away and I was spending all my time and energy on and with her. She is now gone and I find myself having a very difficult time finding ME again! I really missed SP, so here I am again!

I look forward to getting to know each and every one of you! And please feel free to kick me in the behind if I get to sad! I need encouragement sometimes!

And I always love having SP buddies!!!

Hi! emoticon
I've been a member of this team before but fell off the wagon and stayed away from SP for quite a while. I'm swedish (that would explain the english, lol), live in Tunisia and I have some 25 kg to get rid of. It's a struggle with this neurological "disorder" I have, some days I can't exercise much, but I know I feel better when I do, even if it's just a little. :)
Hoping to find (and give) motivation here. emoticon

Hi Everyone,
I have been lurking around SP for quite some time now but have never engaged myself. I need to start joining in, that is hard for me. I need to lose around 185 pounds and am struggling with back and hip issues so mobility is a real big problem. I found the chair exercises so I am going to work with those. Thanks for being here, it's really so important to be around folks that are in the same place and also who have broken out of this place. It is possible...

Hi everyone. I'm new to this team. I've been committed to a healthy life style for 3 months now. I am excited that I am still working on my New Years Resolution - that's never happened before! The members of this team seem to be very inspirational and motivational - I love that! I'm 51 years old, Wife, Mother of two, Grandmother of three, and a Nurse - so I wear a lot of different hats. I have decided that I need to take care of me first to ensure that I can continue to care for my family and my patients. I want to lose weight sure, but I am focusing on becoming healthy. I love to exercise to Leslie Sansone DVDs - My favorites are HIIT training Party Songs and Radio Remix. Also I do her Firm 30 DVD. I have so much more energy now that I have lost almost 25 pound and have been eating right (most of the time). I look forward to meeting all of you and traveling on this journey together!

Hi, I'm Vicki and I have about 100 lbs left to lose to reach my current goal. But I'm a work in progress and it's slow going so I'm trying to learn to accept myself more as I am now instead of how I want to be. But I will get to where I want to be. Just watch me and see.
My ultimate goal though is 150 lbs or less.

Hi Teammates,

My name is Patty. I am turning the big Five- O (50) this year. Actually the end of July. I've been on and off Spark People since 2009. I am an insulin dependent type 2 diabetic. Of course I've tried the round of different programs. Some seem to work for a short period of time. But due to my diabetes, eating low carb and staying away from processed foods, seems to work best for me. Within the last month I have come off my meal time insulin. That is 3 shots a day, gone. Now I only have 1 night time shot and my oral meds. I would like to come all of my meds this year. I have read of many people doing that. I hope I can follow in their foot steps. I have been recommitted to my food program since January. I need to lose approx 75 lbs. But my goal is geared to good health. I'm a Jersey Girl, and the north east is suffering a brutal winter this year. I use a Fitbit to help track my exercise and have recently joined a gym taking Zumba classes. I can't really do anything, but its fun music and I just move around.

There are so many success stories here. I hope that we can continue to encourage each other along each of our journeys.

Patty

Hello all, I have been a member on SP for a little bit but officially started using the tools/site etc. 1 week ago. I am a married mother of two, my oldest just turned 21 this past November and my youngest will be 18 this July. I have been married going on 13 years to a wonderful man. My husband is a long haul trucker and gets home roughly once a month if we are lucky. I do not work in the traditional sense outside of the home but I am the office manager for a local non-profit agency here in Indiana. We relocated here in 2006. Since committing myself to starting last week, I have lost 23 lbs. (water weight I am sure). I would love to have a text buddy/work out/SparkBuddy to help with accountability!

Hello everyone! I have been on Sparkpeople for years and even on this team for a while but I have not been active in many months. I am starting a new lifestyle to become the healthiest that I can be. I really need a friend, or friends, someone to talk to along the journey to change my thoughts and actions to become a more confident, happy and healthy person. Someone to share the ups and downs of this process with and to be there for them when the need arises. I am 54, I work as an RN in a large hospital and have been married to the same man for 33 years. No children but 5 rescue dogs to love. I need to lose around 100 pounds.

Hello everyone! My name is Dannielle and I am 32 (33 this April!) and I have an 8, almost 9 year daughter. I'm single, work fulltime, I will be finishing up my last year of school next spring and I am building a business. I have been on my weight loss journey, most of it on sparkpeople, but I have yet to keep myself motivated to stay on the journey. I need to be accountable to someone else so that I don't use any excuses. I find that I do better that way.

I turn 40 in 1 year and my goal is to lose 5 lbs a month this next year for a total of 50-60lbs. I desperately need a texting/accountability/motivating buddy. I cannot log into the message board during the day so I need a quick way to communicate with somebody when I need support! Texting would be perfect! I'd also really enjoy giving the same support to my partner. I am a 39 yr old married woman who has 2 kids and works part time. Life is busy and I am very good at making excuses for myself. Weight has been a lifelong struggle and for the past few years, I am losing that battle!

Hi Everyone! I'm Melanie and I've been a SP member since 2009, but haven't done much on the site over the past few years. I came back yesterday and wrote an extremely long blog post about how my life has been for the past year (not the happiest, that's for sure), so I'm here and ready to make the necessary changes to lose ~170lbs, feel great and have babies! Thank you to Debbie who posted on my page! Indygirl is such an inspiration, if she can do it - so can we! :)

Hi I'm Angela. I have been around Spark for quite a few years. I started after my daughter was born and had some success then. Recently, I have been gaining and losing, gaining and losing. I haven't weighed what I weigh now since I was trying to lose weight after having my daughter seven years ago. I need accountability and I need consistency. I would like a buddy to keep me on track. I prefer communicating through sparkmail. I just really need a kick in the pants. My preferred exercise right now is walking. I plan to incorporate strength exercises using my body weight.

MRSDUCTHER: (from Indygirl team page)

I have found I need to do my own thing as far as exercise goes! I was trying to be a marathon runner, trainer for that when I first started Spark. I got to about 7 miles & was SO bored, I quit! So Now I do an occasional 5 k just keep keep walking quickly, BUT Zumba & I fell in love & I am off & playing there! I also do Shepped Pilates DVD. I think you are on the right path for yourself! Whatever works for each of us, right?

Thanks for your comments!

hello everyone!!!

Today is the beginning of my not stopping. I have discovered that when I tried to over do, I always burn out. I tried to do the Jillian Michaels workouts, but find I do not want to be person anymore...and it almost caused me to quit. I have found the best place for me is walking and light strength training...not crazy hard. I am learning my limitations and going forward albeit slowly

I Believe!

Hi! Everyone! I am SPARKLINGME176
I have been with Spark People 21 months now. I reached my high goal, 51 #'s down. But I keep going up & down with the same 7 #'s. I'm OK with it, I am healthy & happy & have found ZUMBA, Sheppard Pilates & walking! Love being active for the first time in my life!

Feel free to visit my Spark page to learn more! I am VERY blessed & happy to be alive & healthy! I just want to get my head on straight about maintenance. INDYGIRL has been a SP friend of mine for awhile now. I thought I would join the team & help support where i can!

Sparkles to all!

Hi, I'm Lisa. I'm 50 and have somewhere around 75 pounds to lose. I live in Florida with my husband, four dogs, three cats, and a guinea pig. At the moment, my youngest daughter and new son-in-law are living with us along with their dog, cat, and two chinchillas. My eldest daughter and my 20 month old grandson are also living with us. It's rather a full house and is a little high stress at times. I work full time as a secretary, so, even though I workout six days a week, I have a pretty sedentary lifestyle. I've had to tone back my workouts to low impact to keep from constantly injuring myself, so I will have to focus more on my nutrition and getting more activity in my day.

Happiness is not a matter of intensity but of balance, order, rhythm, and harmony....Thomas Merton

Hi,

I have read several blogs of Indygirl so decided this was the team to join. This may just be the motivation that I need.

Hello, I am Sheryl. I have been a member of Spark People off and on for a few years. I am 66 years old, need to lose around 65 pounds.
I know I should move more and need the motivation to do it. My eating is healthy and usually within the range set for me by SP.

Hi, my name is Therese and I'm a returning SP member. I lost 20 kg's 2011-2012 and then let my health problems get the best of me, that resulted in a lot of comfort eating, that in turn of course led to weight gain and more pain. I'm back here now with more experience and knowledge, and this time around I will be more kind to myself.

I'm a stay at home mom from Sweden, we live in Tunisia though since -02. My husband and children are my life, and I feel that I can't be the happy mother I want to be when I don't feel good about myself. So I'm here to change that.

emoticon APACHESTEVE You are so right about this team. There are many active members that are always encouraging each other. Beth, our team leader is always giving very good tips about diet, exercise, food, clothing, etc; very good information to help us succeed in our journey.

Good Day Ladies and Gents, my name is Steve and even after having lost over 50 pounds, I still have over 100 pounds to go on my journey to getting healthier. I love the long range success stories on this team and find them most motivating. Here is a little about me, although feel free to visit my Sparkpage for more bio type data.

The Apache part of my name is not a reference to my heritage but rather the mascot of the school where I am a computer tech. I also am blessed with the privilege of broadcasting the schools football and basketball games on a local radio station. I've led many different career paths: dj, sportscaster, college student, controls systems engineer, electronic design engineer, and finally settled in on a career working with technology in education.

I love St. Louis Cardinals baseball, broadcasting games, reading, music, and my 13 year old Son, not in that order of course. I've been morbidly obese since the age of 15 or so, but for the first time I've been working on the causes of my food binges. My goal is now health and fitness, and I'll let the scale take care of itself. I find being able to wear smaller clothing more motivating than a number on a scale.

Obviously I enjoy talking so I'm looking forward to participating in the team threads.

If you believe you can, or can not, either way you are correct.

Hello everyone,
My name is Jennyfer. I am from Canada but have lived outside of Canada for 4 years now. I have been living in Guatemala for one year now. I'm nearing my goal, probably another 10lbs or so. I wanted to join this team because I find you all so motivating and encourage me to keep working hard. I am 31 years old, 5'9".

Hello again everyone! My name is Stephanie, and I'm on a journey to lose 160 pounds. I have a very long road ahead of me, and I would love to make some new friends so we can encourage each other. I was here a couple of months ago, but I've been struggling a lot, so I've been absent from SP for awhile, trying to wrap my head around getting this weight off and making a true commitment. Having so much to lose is pretty overwhelming, but I'm determined to take it one day at a time. I look forward to getting to know all of you.

Hi team, I'm Beth from west Michigan and I'm working on counting carbs. Over the last year I've gone from pre-diabetic to a glucose level of 82--mainly by eating lots and lots of salads and veggies (sort of like Dr. Fuhrman's Eat to Live book.) Working on controlling emotional eating, which happens once in awhile. Also working on being more regular in working out. I LOVE reading all the success stories here on SP---and a big shout out to Indygirl for her amazing story! I hope in a year (or two) I can be posting pictures about my own 100 lb. weight loss. Looking forward to getting to know all of you better.

Hello, I am Linda from Texas. I am not new to SparkPeople, but new to this team. Indygirl has inspired me over and over again!
I have multiple health issues and am working on a lot of past emotional baggage that I believe is blocking my road to success. Also I have not been brutally honest with myself. I simply do not exercise enough. That is changing!
I have a dear husband and 2 cats and am age 62. I weigh over 215 lb and should ideally weigh 150 to 160 for my height and bone structure.

Hi everyone!
I am a long time sparker...but I am standing in my own way when it comes to permanent weight loss. I am an emotional eater. 40lbs off...40lbs on. My husband and I walk on average 3 to 4 days a week (when our show schedule allows) for 4 miles. We eat lots of fruit and veggies and I LOVE snacks...sweets, salty and everything in between. For my heath, I need to loose at least 100 lbs.

Indygirl is one of my weight loss hero's and I am excited to be a part of this awesome team!

I'm Yvonne, I'm 70 and I've been holding on the same 166 to 172 pounds for too long. I wanted to join a group where weight loss is serious, to motivate me to stop playing around.

I just found my last weigh-in in my Weight Watchers booklet, recorded December 3, 2008, was 167.2 I had started out at 180, and I've never gotten back up that far, but this morning's weight was 169, so I've just been moving around in the same numbers.

I do have a good habit of exercise started; I rarely indulge in junk food, and I eat a very nourishing and healthy diet. I just eat too much, and often when I eat out, I feel empowered somehow to have dessert. Those things have been enough to keep me from losing anything significant.

My weight goal for Weight Watchers was 145, but the charts say I should weight 125 (I've lost 2 inches of height due to age). I really doubt if I ever weigh that again.

I hope to be supported on this team but to be confronted as well, when you can see I'm dealing in fantasy.

I've been a fan of Indygirl for as long as I've been a Sparker.

Hi everyone, I'm Mary and I have been on SP for a year. I did not reach my goal this year, but I'm still moving forward and happy with the progress I have made so far.

I won't tell my "story" here because I want it to stay in the PAST. My future is HEALTHY!!! (The present is a work in progress.)

Why did it take me so long to find the best team on SP???? emoticon

Hello;

My name is Amy and I weigh 498.4lbs. My high weight was about 515 and I'm nearly 6' tall.
I have a loving husband who is about 6'1" and is 420lbs and we have 2 cats. We've been trying to lose weight for years- I have actually always been big. But what I thought was fat in my teens is nothing compared to now.

I would like to get weightloss surgery- and its Dr. recommended but our insurance excludes it and we don't have the money. I currently don't work and thats partly due now to how large I've gotten. There are many occupations blocked to me know because I can't physically do them.

So it's back to Sparkpeople! I've used this site on and off for maybe 4 years- though about 6months ago I got super frustrated and deleted my account. A month or so later I started over.

I'm 33 and my husband is 40- in my 20's I had 3 miscarriages due to Protein S Deficiency(Diagnosed 4 years ago) and my weight. I am not allowed to get pregnant atm- was basically given the choice of an IUD or a hysterectomy. And being so fat, I know it will take a least a couple years to lose enough to have a child.

I feel like time is ticking down- if I don't get fit soon I will lose my chance to have kids ever. So that- as well as wanting to live a long healthy life with hubby- is what is motivating me.

I really like the new start page and the "Goals" section. I am going to make it a point to review that every day to keep motivated. Hubby and I are also trying to remind each other when we want to eat too much- "Would you rather eat that or have kids?".

I would love some help finding exercise videos for really large folks. I can do some activity- but need a less punishing workout than "normal-sized" folks.

I don't have many friends in real life; and I could use a buddy or 2 for mutual support but I have limited text messages... :(

Thanks for listening.

Just trying to make it day by day...

My heart craves to know each of you. I wish we could all have a big party and be together. I hate seeing people lose the will to fight. I want to pick all of you up and tell you that it is just putting one foot in front of the other. You don't need to have the perfect plan or a perfect life, heaven knows I don't. I get up and take it a choice at a time. I drink a lot of water and tea and eat a ton of ice chips, fruits and veggies... next on the list is protein because I try to have plenty of that. I try to stick to real carbs, like whole grains or vegetable based carbs like real potatoes, corn or peas. Eating real food rather than process chips, cakes, cookies, crackers and such really is helpful to me. It keeps my appetite down. The cinnamon and chromium tip from YOU ON A DIET is dead on. I take that everyday and it has curbed my sweet tooth for 8 years. Nectar Sweets by Syntrax is a protein powder I use that is very mixable and helps me keep my appetite in check and get all of my protein
in. If you can't move well, get an arm bike. They do wonders. I suggest the Magnetrainer of Magnetrainer.com. It works for both arms and feet. Anyway, those are my two cents for fighting the good fight, or at least a starting point. Join in on some of the other boards where these things are being discussed.

Thanks Susan - wow a place without cell service - as I provide 4 other family member's cell phones, that sounds good! At least for a minute!

Hi everyone -- I saw Indygirl's great post on stopping a binge and had to dive right in. Saw her page and her team and knew I belonged here. I am retired and an emptynester, my DH and I have a great golden retriever named Gracie. I have lots of motivation right now and want to do everything I can to keep it going, the stronger, the better.

Kat, I'd love to be a text buddy BUT, in the part of Vermont where I moved -- no cell service. If you don't find a text buddy, we could be email buddies or sparkmail buddies, etc.

Susan

Hello - I am not new but have not been on SparkPeople for a while and lost all motivation to "fight the good fight".
Of course, GOD doesn't just leave us in a heap on the road for long and now I am being inspired to start again.

I noticed this says text buddy - i need one please! I am a senior citizen and running an at home business. I will commit to (at least) once a day text with a buddy. Anyone looking for me???

emoticon IRVING666. We have a new co-leader in the team. He lost a lot of weight. He and INDYGIRL can be great role models for your son and you as they are for us.
