Hi there, I have been using Spark People since Nov 2013. I've lost 20 lbs so far. I thought this looked like a fun challenge to do. Hoping I lose an additional 5 lbs by 5/14 (my birthday) and then another 25 lbs after that. I know I will be successful because I am doing this for the right reason this time, to honor the body God has given me and because I seek Him and His strength every step of the way! I cannot do this in my own power, only His!

Hello everyone. My name is Trisha and I joined this team in hope of finding the supportive help I need to become more motivated to work on my non-walking days. I have trouble with consistency. I have the figured out the exercise program that I feel comfortable doing and I think that's a good start but, jumpstarting my engine is still a problem. Too many years of living comfortably on my behind and I have fibromyalga as a ready handicap excuse or the snow is still falling and it's supposed to be springtime and flowers. I know I'm supposed to feel better when I exercise but so far all I feel is tired and sore. I want to keep pushing so my body can get stronger than it ever has been and I know I have to work harder to achieve this so I'm hoping this team will help me to be more accountable.

To me HEALTH means Energy. Stamina. Flexibilty. A relatively pain free body. Enjoying healthy food. You are your body, and your weight loss efforts will succeed exactly to the extent that you mange to do the work on behalf of your embodied self. You’ll do much better when you focus on making positive changes to improve your health and well-being, rather than on fighting your bad habits.

Hello all, my name Donna & I joined this challenge for several reasons. one reason of course is to shed pounds, inches, or centimeters lol, whatever I can get. another reason is because I get so overwhelmed with so much information like what to eat, what not to eat, strength or cardio exercises, fat loss or fitness sometimes it's just too much to think about. But with this challenge I don't have to think about it at all, just pick the day and do the exercises and that makes it easier for me. emoticon

Hello all!

I am re-committing to the Sparkpeople program since I found out my blood sugar and A1C levels are in the pre-diabetic range and my cholesterol is officially high enough to go on meds. I think this is the wake-up call I need to get off my lazy behind and get moving and watching what goes into my mouth. I actually exercised yesterday for the first time in months, albeit a short duration on the exercise bike, but today I am relaxing with an ice pack after having my back injected with cortisone in 3 spots.

At 262, I need to lose 112 lbs, but I'm starting with small goals, 10 lbs by the end of this 4-week challenge. Best of luck and kudos to everyone taking on the challenge!

I just finished the Live Healthy Iowa 10 week challenge. I started strong and ended, well, not so strong due to a nasty cold that I think I'm finally recovering from. So, I need a new challenge to get me back on track. I would like to lose 10 pounds by Memorial Day, including the 3-4 that I added back while being sick. :(
I have lots of plans for the spring/summer with updating our home and gardening and t-ball with the kids, etc. I also want to do an obstacle course race sometime! So, I need to get fit, lose this extra winter weight, and have some more energy!

I've been away for several years but am now excited to get started again! My oncologist says I have to lower my weight to 178 in order to get my BMI out of the obese category. I've been trying on my own for a couple years,but have just recently remembered to try Sparkpeople again. Wish me luck! emoticon

Hello All! I am using the first day of Spring to make some changes for myself. I am extremely over weight and very, very inactive. I have a very stress filled life and I crappy job that I hate and it takes up way too much of my day for very little reward. These are all things that I CAN change. If I lost just a little weight I could regain the confidence to change my job situation. The stress and weight are seriously affecting my health. My heart works way too hard. Today is a new day and I am going to be a new me! emoticon

Woke up late today, and I still feel the sting of the pain.
But I brushed my teeth anyway, got dressed through the mess and put a smile on my face.
I got a little bit stronger.

Hi all!

I am new to the team, and would like to share a bit about myself with you! This is just a copy and paste from my profile:

I am a 20 year old student about to graduate and embark into the world of teaching. I have hypermobility syndrome which mainly affects knees, hips and shoulders and so find it tough to exercise at times. I play wheelchair basketball twice a week and love it. I am in the first team and play matches regularly. At first t fitness was so bad I could only go out at 100% for 3 minutes or so at a time and now I can stay on court all game (40 mins). I am also a part time Carer for two lovely boys but the job can be demanding not only physically with long hours and hard graft but also mentally.
In the past I've tried to lose weight and sometimes gone a bit obsessed, but now I'm going at it healthy. Bit by bit. Just over a year and half ago I was 14 stone 4 pound. As of march 2014 I weigh 13 stone 3 pound. Not a lot of difference but I've done it healthy without much hard work due to ill health physically. Now I want to push it and get over this plateau that I've been stuck at for 7 months!

I'm a friendly person who would love to have a few 'online support friends' to help each other through! So drop me a message! :)

Hello all,
Going to retry this again. I am 34, mother of 3, work midnights as a nurse. I am looking to loose 45-55 lbs by the end of summer. I know this seems like a lot. I am horrible about posting in blogs like this as I am always so busy and feel if I am sitting here on the computer I should be up moving doing something else. My current weight is 160.2 lbs and goal weight is 110 lbs by June 21st (my 35th birthday and start to our family Disney vacation). Looking to stay motivated and find time for myself and to be able to keep up with everyone else.

I am Julie. I have been a sparkpeople.com for quite a while. I was a member for a while then I hit a plateau for a really long time --- so I quit. Really quit. I did not just deactivate my account - I deleted every little bit.

Then a year ago - I rejoined and since then I have lost 32 pounds and am just about 13 pounds short of goal. I have not had the best luck with teams. I have found some to be highly inactive, and some to be not encouraging or unmotivating. Finally - I found one team that has been the best fit ever. After 4 months I was asked to be a co-leader. I have been skeptical about joining any other teams because I really get discouraged if I don't have support.

But - I have hit a plateau again. I have been losing and gaining the same 2 or 3 pounds for the last month and a half. So I think I need this Spring Challenge.

I am nearly 50 years old. Together my husband and I are Salvation Army Officers currently appointed to Lake Havasu City AZ. I am looking forward to this challenge.

I am Chrislyn and I have tried on my own to lose 15 pounds since New Years. Spring seems to be arriving with the time change tonight and I am determined that I will be happily sitting on the beach by Easter. Not trying for a bikini body at my age.. but no need to have this middle aged belly either. Hoping that an online community and challenge will help me stay on track.

Hi my name is Kalei and I'm 22 just recovering from my first c section with my third child but first baby girl!! I was using babyfit which is the pregnancy version of sparkpeople for my whole pregnancy. I loved it. So far since using this program I've lost 8 lbs in three weeks by eating right and working out ( with lots of moderations) everyday. I feel great and surprised I can actually get a workout done with a newborn and three year old home all day.

I love to join challenges so this is the first one I picked. I'm almost done with week one and so far love it. I wish the workout videos were longer though but still they work for me. Love coach Nicole!!

Okay, I'm going to really do this! I keep having setbacks both internal and external. I am on my own with no support other than what I can get here in Sparkpeople so please I am asking for help. If you ever have time to send me a note to help encourage me will you please. I am not one who ever asks for help. I'm a veteran, I have been divorced twice. I have eight children with four in their 20's and four still at home. My 5 year old son is autistic. I need to be in shape with better health and energy I have to be there for all of them and myself. We have been through a lot in the last few years. Thank-you for reading this and I am so glad for Sparkpeople.
