WEIGHT GOALS: Maintain my goal within 2 pounds either way. I have reached my goal of 125 and have been maintaining for over a year now.

NUTRITION GOALS: Eat more veggies and keep drinking my water.

FITNESS GOALS: I work out at Curves 4 times a week on average. I'm 66 years young.

WRITING GOALS: Be able to write interesting blogs. My husband is a published writer and said I write very well and has encouraged me do do so.

WRITING HABITS I HAVE / WANT TO HAVE: Get back to writing daily and publish my blogs and gain readership.

WRITING PREFERENCES: I prefer writing inspirational stories, writing about animals, and also am passionate about music. God has called me to do music ministry and I am a professional alto saxist.

WHAT I WANT TO DO WITH THE WRITERS TEAM: Learn to stay motivated to maintain my weight, and become more involved in writing. I have written many, many blogs here and kept a running blog about my diabetic cat named Thor. I would write as if he were writing it. That was fun. We lost him 4 years ago to diabetes. He was only 7 years young.

Lose about 100 lbs.

NUTRITION GOALS:
Figure out how to eat healthier things while dealing with a lot of allergies to raw veggies and fruits, and living with a vegan.

FITNESS GOALS:

NUTRITION GOALS:
Get rid of junk food—first soda (done), then white flour (done), then chocolate (not done yet)

WEIGHT GOALS:
Lose 10-24 pounds by September 2014. (I started in April 2014.) Then maintain and see how it goes.

NUTRITION GOALS:
Eat three meals a day. Inconsistency hurts: my blood sugar, my metabolism, and my productivity.

"Religious psychological drama" ... sounds exiting to me. In a way, that's what I'm writing too, if you cut out the Biblical part. Oh, it's main characters and basic plots are very inspired by passages in the Old Testament but after initial ideas both characters and plot usually takes a life if their own and in the end only a glimmer of the original is to be found...

I'm interested to hear more :)

btw, while I'm not pre-diabetic (not yet....) diabetics run in my family and I've decided it's time to really start trying to postpone it as much as possible.

20 lbs.

NUTRITION GOALS:
I'm pre-diabetic and am adapting to a high-nutrient, lower-carb, flexitarian diet.

FITNESS GOALS:
I like fairly concrete achievements, so a 25-mile bicycle ride, a 10 mile hike with a 40 lb backpack, and a marathon walk (26.2 miles) are my cardio goals. For strength I'm aiming for 100 continuous pushups and 50 continuous pullups.

WRITING GOALS:
Complete the 4 biblical novels I've outlined.

WRITING HABITS I HAVE / WANT TO HAVE:
Be more consistent in writing, rather than advancing in fits and spurts as I have been doing.

WRITING PREFERENCES:
Religious psychological drama is the best way I can describe it. I've been exploring several biblical narratives and have found that they contain captivating stories of human drama that are often overlooked or oversimplified in religious circles.

WHAT I WANT TO DO WITH THE WRITERS TEAM:
Learn from others who have successfully completed the process in which I am currently engaged. Perhaps in time I might even have something useful to share with someone else.

WEIGHT GOALS: I have lost nearly 90 pounds and kept it off for many years, but most people don't know that. In the past 16 months, I have lost at least 50 pounds from green juicing at kept it off. I still need to lost a substantial amount of weight and still have an obese BMI. My victory has been to get out of the very obese BMI category. Most weight I have to lose was gained nearly 10 years ago. I am 5'8", perhaps medium build. I would love to see 145 on that scale some day.

NUTRITION GOALS: At this time, I am on Day 28 of a green juice fast and have lost possibly 19 pounds. I also have lost nearly 8 inches of stress belly this year from juicing. Following the fast, I plan to go raw vegan or plant-based vegan with very few exceptions. I am working to find exactly what works best for me. Juicing will remain part of that equation, along with organic, locally grown, GMO-free foods. I have severe allergies to shellfish and many food intolerances. My hope is that juicing and a healthy vegan food plan will help to fully heal me. So far it is working! Although I definitely have to be careful about shellfish and penicillin, even today.

FITNESS GOALS: I am recovering from a very serious knee injury, a torn meniscus that does not qualify for surgery. I need to walk as much as possible and be tremendously careful about certain motions that could cause more damage. I also was diagnosed with mild/moderate arthritis in one or both knees. I hope it is a mistake. As a result, my main type of exercise is to walk as much as possible, do Kundalini yoga from dvd nearly daily, and include more and more core exercises again. I hope to return to ocean swimming whenever I am at the ocean and increase my exercise more and more. While fasting, I had to be careful about overdoing it. I would like to do ST but my knee has not tolerated weights thus far. I hope that will change as I lose weight. I used to walk 7 miles per day several times per week and often swam for hours at the ocean, mostly break stroke. I dream of running but the knee injury might never allow that. I do love Latin dancing, Bollywood, etc. and hope to get in some of that fun, too. I loved kickboxing but that could be dangerous for my knee right now. I do want to increase exercise though.

WRITING GOALS: While on the juice fast, I hoped to be writing about my journey this far, lightening up my entire life. I used to work out for hours until I dropped, tried all kinds of ways to lose weight. Nothing worked. I discovered too late that cortisol levels can shoot sky high for very obese people doing strenuous exercise. I just got more of a stress belly and more injuries. Also I was on estrogen for a scary seven years, not realizing that trainers won't accept women on this hormone treatment. It is very hard to lose weight. I went off that, quit coffee, got away from all prescription medications, even OTCs as much as possible. I want to write about getting back my life, the lessons I learned the hard way, but also how I have made so many realizations. Juice fasting changed my life. I saw "Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead" but didn't dare juice right away. I spent a year with green smoothies and a mostly raw vegan diet. It was the juice fasting that really pulled off the weight and the stress belly. So many health problems went away. For me, this was a total game changer. I hope to write about this, about all kinds of travels and discoveries I made, many other issues. I hope to also continue working on fiction projects. I have loved writing my entire life. Now I am getting well enough to focus on this again. I have been writing stories since I was a young child and always seemed destined to be a writer.

WRITING HABITS I WANT TO HAVE: I need to keep the focus and find ways to stay on track, even when obstacles get in the way. I also need to get out there more, submit my work, and become more involved in the wider writing community. For a long time, health issues kept me from being at my best. Now I want to develop great writing habits that will help me to do my best.

WRITING PREFERENCES: I love so many kinds of writing. I love inspirational true stories, learning about the experiences of others on similar journeys. I love a good travel piece, anything about Hawaii, and anything mystical, spiritual, intriguing. I do a great deal of reading on health issues, environmental issues, etc. So many interests! And I do love fiction, although recently I have been reading mostly nonfiction. One of my favorite books is "Wild" by Cheryl Strayed. There are some books that are so powerful. I dream of being a writer with that kind of powerful prose.

WHY I WANT TO BE ON THE TEAM: It would help a great deal to be around other writers. As any writer knows, writing is done in solitude. It is great to have support, feedback, inspiration.

WEIGHT GOALS:
was in maintenance 4 yrs now need to get rid of 22 lbs all gained during a nightmare with my right arm started Dec 23 and still going on. 121 to 143, I am 5' 5" and very fine boned and weight gains show up fast!!

NUTRITION GOALS:
I eat healthy fresh, raw vegetarian unprocessed food, its the salty snack addiction I have to get rid of.

FITNESS GOALS:
I LOVE exercise and do all I can, but being unable to use my arm I am doing only cardio classes and I hike when ever I can, usually getting 2 hrs of motion a day. When they are done with my right arm (waiting for 3rd and final surgery -major reconstruction) I hope to get fit again. I was very fit before, taking 2-3 fitness classes a day.

WRITING GOALS:
mostly blogging, would like to do independent stories for a paper or online magazines, nature or travel Really would like to write about my Mother's fascinating life "Trapper's Daughter" about growing up half Cree half white and being accepted by neither race..I can only type with one finger on each hand due to RA damage and the temporary loss of the use of my right hand is tough. People have told me I should write about my own life, but that would just be one long medical journal :-P


WRITING HABITS I HAVE / WANT TO HAVE:
Writing more concisely as I seem to get long winded at times.
In university I wrote essays that scored near perfect marks -this was before the age of computers, spell check, word processing, would like to get that pure natural feel again.

WEIGHT GOALS: Ultimately 135, since I've had two kids and am only 5'3" (currently 200+ --won't know till morning how much plus LOL)

NUTRITION GOALS: To stop eating late. I have the tendency to eat fine until dinner nears and then I start to make bad choices because I don't know what I'm making, don't have a lot of energy and just don't feel like doing it most days. My oldest asked if we can start implementing a weekly menu (I thank the Universe for that kid!)

FITNESS GOALS: I'm not sure I have fitness goals yet. I would love to run a marathon someday, do crunches, pull ups and push ups but my muscles aren't there yet.

WRITING GOALS: To be the next Stephen King... or Stan Lee... or Anne Rice... I'm not picky. I would love to be a novelist and screenwriter and make a living (even a meager one) off of my writing.

WRITING HABITS I HAVE / WANT TO HAVE: I don't write every day, but I do write whenever inspiration strikes. I carry a notebook and write down all the ways I find to add to my books or work through problems I have with scenes. I want to be able to carve out some quiet time to write each day but that cuts into my sleep time so I'm waiting for a solution to present itself.

WRITING PREFERENCES: Novels: Fiction, Paranormal Romance, Horror (which is new for me), Suspense and am developing ideas for comic book formats as well as LGBT-centered fiction. I've also recently fallen upon script-writing and have found it's not only quite enjoyable, but really easy.

WHAT I WANT TO DO WITH THE WRITERS TEAM: I would love to find lifelong friends who share my passion, people I can relate to, struggle with, support and gain encouragement from. Totally open to friend requests :)

NAME: Maria

WEIGHT GOALS: Ultimately, I want to weigh 115 (I'm only 5'1") but I really want to be healthy. So if I get there and decide that I'm too skinny or not quite where I want to be, I'll alter my goal weight. Basically, I want to lose around 15 lbs.

NUTRITION GOALS: This is probably the hardest area for me. I eat well for breakfast and lunch but I work late and never eat a regular dinner. My nutrition goals are to keep on with my early morning/afternoon eating habits and eat more well balanced meals for dinner.

FITNESS GOALS: Run a 5K in 30 minutes, exercise 10 minutes a day, work on toning up my flabby areas

WRITING GOALS: Edit/revise/publish my first short story. It's pretty much done but I'm always open to suggestions. If you want to read it, send me a message!

WRITING HABITS I HAVE / WANT TO HAVE: I write in a journal every day, but I would like to build up more of a portfolio so people can see my work and what I'm capable of.

WRITING PREFERENCES: I do a bit of everything; poems, short stories, some articles. I draw from experience and most of my work in nonfiction, but the short story I just wrote is sort of paranormal/thriller-esque.

WEIGHT GOALS: I am European, so I am more familiar to kilograms than pounds. As a result, I want to reach to 65 kilos ( I am 70 now) and I have already lost 9 kilos since last October.


NUTRITION GOALS: As being a diabetic, I pay much attention to my overall nutrition. I want to eat more fruit and veggies, drink much more water and find creative ways to do so.


FITNESS GOALS: Every day movement! Due to my work, I walk like a lot, but I want to maintain a steady program with cardio and strength exercises also at home.


WRITING GOALS: I write already a lot, but this year I started a novel that I love, and I want to work on it. Until now, I have only written short stories and theatrical plays. I want to go beyond that.


WRITING HABITS I HAVE / WANT TO HAVE: One day with no writing at all is a bad day for me. I adore books, I adore expressing my imagination and ideas in writing, and I love to give my stories to friends to amuse and ... trouble them. So I try to write something at least 4 times a week.


WRITING PREFERENCES: I love black humor, humor in general, drama and mystery/horror. I also love comic novels.


WHAT I WANT TO DO WITH THE WRITERS TEAM: To take the opportunity to discipline in my writing too, as I already do with my body!

WEIGHT GOALS: My first goal is to get out of the 170's, and my final goal is to weigh 150 or under. I'm not so much picky about the scale as I am about how I look in pictures. I want to fit comfortably in a size 10-12 again and lose that double chin-chipmunk cheeks look!


NUTRITION GOALS: Portion control, and working on my emotional eating triggers and mindless snacking. Paying attention to hunger and fullness cues.


FITNESS GOALS: To move every day, whether its a short 30 minute walk with my dog or a dance/Zumba workout video.


WRITING GOALS: To move beyond Fan Fiction and Tumblr RP's (blush!) to actual original fiction short stories and maybe even a novel.


WRITING HABITS I HAVE / WANT TO HAVE: To be able to simply share my writing with others in my real life without being embarrassed. Online friends have told me I write well, but no one in my real life has seen my work, because most of it is movie-related fanfic.


WRITING PREFERENCES: I absolutely LOVE cute, romantic comedy stories and what might be called 'chick lit.' Humor and sweet romance with non-conventional heroes and heroines is what I always find myself writing about.


WHAT I WANT TO DO WITH THE WRITERS TEAM: How to balance my writing hobby with exercise and fitness. My love for reading and writing is probably what led to my weight gain the last few years, to be honest!

Pounds lost- 5 since the last time I weighed myself in winter. I started walking a little more since the snow melted and didn't change my eating habits at all, and was pleasantly surprised when I finally faced the scale and saw that 5 pounds gone! So I figure if I make moving a habit and work on my emotional eating and snacking issues, I can DO this! :)

WEIGHT GOALS:
I don't do weight goals.

NUTRITION GOALS:
Right now, they are: track every bite/sip, get 9+ fruits/veggies per day.

FITNESS GOALS:
Right now, my fitness goal is just to track every fitness minute, but in general, I try to get in 60 minutes per day, 6 days per week.

WRITING GOALS:
My writing time is 6-8pm. My goal is to put the butt in the chair at least 6 days per week during writing time.

WRITING HABITS I HAVE / WANT TO HAVE:
I wish to get better at plotting fiction. I am weak in that department, having spent most of my writing life as a poet and journalist.

WRITING PREFERENCES:
I have always written poetry, and I do a lot of grantwriting, copy editing, copywriting, etc. for a living. What I'm working on now is mostly short fiction, and I began a novel a short while ago. Working title is Lucy and Harlan -- I'll probably talk about that a lot here.

WEIGHT GOALS:
Lose 100+ lbs in about two years.

NUTRITION GOALS:
I'm a picky eater, so fruits and veggies are hard; especially veggies. I need to watch junk, and eat things with real nutritional value.

FITNESS GOALS:
I'd like to see myself working out six days a week. Nothing like crazy long sessions, but just going to the gym and being active for a half hour or so.

WRITING GOALS:
Stop being scared. When I won the writing contest (against published authors!) last year, it terrified me. I have real self-esteem issues about my writing, but in a very strange and twisted way. I'd like to see something small published this year, and finish writing the novel I'm carrying around in my head but am too chicken to write.

WRITING HABITS I HAVE / WANT TO HAVE:
The ability to sit and write. To develop that need to pour it out of me. It's happened with other stories, so I'd like to get back there.

WRITING PREFERENCES:
I write longer stories rather than shorts, novella and novel forms.
Putting myself in a genre is hard. I have a talent for smut, so I do write erotica, but my stories are more complicated than that! Sex is a part of real life, so it's a part of writing about a romantic couple, too. I also have some non-romance stories I'd like to write one day.
As for publishing, I think I'd derive a lot of satisfaction from going the traditional route. As for an agent, I think I'd need some real convincing I'd need one.

WHAT I WANT TO DO WITH THE WRITERS TEAM:
Be around other writers, who struggle with the creative process of writing, and the challenges of being healthy while being a slave to the muse!

Life is not fair, or unfair, it is simply what you make of it!

WEIGHT GOALS: I would like to weigh less than 200 pounds. It could be 199 and I would be very happy with that. My setbacks to this goal are as follows: health (I have epilepsy, lupus, and fibromyalgia. Many of the medicines used to combat these also blow me up like a balloon.); diet (although I am a vegetarian, I have yet to fully become vegan. I still suck down soda like crazy and since I CANNOT have artificial sweeteners at all, I have not found too many alternatives that still allow me caffeine.); and movement (I walk regularly, but the cold and rain prevent me from doing much due to constant pain. Anything above walking, some dancing, and swimming when I can ever get the chance is not usually in my repertoire.. thank you lupus.)


NUTRITION GOALS: I plan to go vegan, and then raw.


FITNESS GOALS: I try to get up and move every day. My ultimate goal is to be able to do so without pain.


WRITING GOALS: To excel at my college term papers.. these aren't always easy.


WRITING HABITS I HAVE / WANT TO HAVE: I am always learning new things. I try to incorporate these things into my writing. My goal is to write more often.


WRITING PREFERENCES: I read a great deal of non-fiction. I prefer to write dramatic fiction and memoir-style stories. I am also working on several cookbooks.

WEIGHT GOALS:
I would like to lose 20-25 pounds and keep it off. This yo-yo dieting craziness has got to stop.

NUTRITION GOALS:
Lately I've been eating my 5 servings of fruits and veggies for breakfast and then I'm desperately trying to avoid the carb cravings in the late afternoon. I've been playing around with how to accomplish the latter and haven't been too successful. My latest attempt has been to log the food as I eat it. This may cause my dinner portions to be substantially smaller but if that's what it takes, then so be it.

FITNESS GOALS:
I'm part of the 100 Days to a New You challenge and so far it's really helped me to put in the time to exercise. I'm committing to at least 10 minutes of exercise per day but often I'm able to get 30 to 45 minutes.

WRITING GOALS:
I feel like I'm cheating a little bit here because technically I'm not a writer. I transcribe from home but I've had to really brush up on grammar, sentence structure and just making it all make sense really. I am currently transcribing the oral history for someone who immigrated to the United States a few decades ago. He wants me to correct his mistakes. Little did I know that I would be restructuring every. single. sentence.

WRITING HABITS I HAVE / WANT TO HAVE:
Transcribe at a faster rate and keep brushing up my English skills so I am at the top of my field.

WRITING PREFERENCES:
I prefer technical projects but oral histories are starting to have an appeal.

WEIGHT GOALS:

WEIGHT GOALS:
Lose 25 pounds by January 2016

NUTRITION GOALS:
Drink more water and conquer my chronic dehydration.

FITNESS GOALS:
Make time to work out 60 minutes per day, even if it is six 10 minute sessions

WRITING GOALS:
To publish the Cozy Mystery Series I have started. “GGB Mysteries”

WRITING HABITS I WANT TO HAVE:
I’m recovering from two concussions, so just want to train my brain that it is OK to wander and daydream. I want the voices to start talking to me again and finish telling me the story. 

WRITING PREFERENCES:
I never considered myself a writer. One day I woke up with a migraine headache and just started writing. This kept up for two weeks and the next thing I knew I had a cozy mystery written. I emailed the rough draft to my mother for suggestions. She read it and shared it with a friend, who emailed it to another friend, and another, etc. About a week later, my aunt emailed a copy to my mother telling her about this great mystery she read. Since I used a pen name, she had no idea the writer was me.

WHAT I WANT TO DO WITH THE WRITERS TEAM:
I would like to learn from the team and avoid the pitfalls you all have experienced. After publishing my series, I would like to help others. I would also like to bounce ideas off members to help decide which ‘path’ my detective will take.
Maybe along the way, learn how to burn extra calories while writing. :)

On the front: “I love cooking my family and my pets”

Because it just sums up my quirky sense of humor.

WEIGHT GOALS:
Lose about 10 pounds, then evaluate and maintain

NUTRITION GOALS:
Gluten and dairy free alternatives, eat more whole foods especially fruits and vegetables, find one "new" veggie or fruit a month (this year) and try it, grow my own fruits and veggies this summer

FITNESS GOALS:
Working with a trainer for a very limited time, go to the gym 2 days a week, walk 12,000 steps a day at least five days a week

WEIGHT GOALS:
Loose 30 pounds in 2014 then re-evaluate.

NUTRITION GOALS:
I'm developing the habit of taking vitamins. I 'm happy with my eating habits at this time.

FITNESS GOALS:
I love to walk, hike, swim, chase and crawl around after my17 month old grand daughter! Once I was active in dancing. I look forward to spring.

WRITING GOALS:
In the past, I have had a fairly successful blog. It was not unheard of to receive several 100 comments plus, daily. I deleted the blog in 2007. I had such a 'radical life change', I FELT it was no longer viable.


WRITING HABITS I HAVE / WANT TO HAVE:
I write in fits. At times, writers block hits and it takes a fight to break it. The way I fight it varies.
I want to edit others writings!

WRITING PREFERENCES:
I prefer to write fiction, poetry, and novels.
I have one novel in edit mode, now.

WHAT I WANT TO DO WITH THE WRITERS TEAM:
I am a co-leader of Hopeful Hearts Breaking Free From Hurts Team, and Within the Heart of a Poet team. My desire as a writer on this team, is to gain motivation and help others where I can!

WEIGHT GOALS:
Lose 88 lbs. by February, 2015

NUTRITION GOALS:
Jam as many nutrients into as few calories as possible; increase fresh and colorful veggies. Eliminate added sugar. Reduce grains/legumes.

FITNESS GOALS:
10,000 steps a day and/or 2-3 workouts a week at the gym. Right now, anything is better than nothing. And nothing's pretty close to the truth.

WRITING GOALS:
Finish editing short story collection for re-release on Amazon.
Finish third children's book THIS YEAR (this one's in the illustrator's hands).
Participate in North Texas Book Festival (if third children's book is released).
Write for, and enter, at least 4-5 categories in the 2015 OWFI Annual Writing Contest, and make one of them "screenplay."
Write a poem a month.

WRITING HABITS I HAVE / WANT TO HAVE:
Write every day. Blog at least 3x a week.

WRITING PREFERENCES:
Eclectic. No, really - I just like to play with words. I've written everything from tech manuals to poetry. I'm most comfortable with children's fiction and short stories; I'm least comfortable with screen/stage plays and novel-length fiction, though I'd like to write more of both.

WHAT I WANT TO DO WITH THE WRITERS TEAM:
I need to be more accountable to myself, with regard to all the goals stated above.
I work full time (Customer Experience Professional, formerly Documentation PM) and it is far too easy to go into Scarlett O'Hara mode - "I'll think about that tomorrow!" - when I'm tired (mentally OR physically). I have plenty of motivation; I'm just short on commitment, right now. But I NEED to do this.

WEIGHT GOALS:
Lose about 30 - 40 lbs in 2014, then reevaluate and maintain.

NUTRITION GOALS:
More "freggies" with an eventual goal of 5-7 per day; more higher quality / whole foods, which means I don't want to avoid anything in particular but do want to fuel with real food, made with traditional methods. (Limit chemicals and additives.)

FITNESS GOALS:
LOTS more than I do now. Eventually, I'd like to do daily exercise consisting of resistance / yoga AND/OR walking / running. I love to do calm-water kayaking. I'd like to possibly get into hiking, Zumba and racquetball.

WRITING GOALS:
Maintain and grow my professional blog. (Goal100,000+ hits / 600 subscribers in 2014.)

WRITING HABITS I HAVE / WANT TO HAVE:
Writing EVERY day would be ideal, but I'd settle for five days a week.
I'd like to never skip more that ONE day between writing sessions.
I'd like to go for at least one long, contemplative walk a week.
I'd like to take a weekly "Artist Date" (as recommended in The Artist's Way.)
I'd like to to shorten the length of time it takes to write a blog post.

WRITING PREFERENCES:
I prefer to write long-form fiction; novels rather than shorts.
I write supernatural horror, with stories about ghosts and witches being particular favorites.
I have one novel nearly done, and another started. There are snippets of others around here too.
I'm interested in traditional publishing and will be seeking an agent.

WHAT I WANT TO DO WITH THE WRITERS TEAM:
I am a co-leader of the Writers Team.
I'm freakishly fond of organization and clarity, and I will likely bring as much of that as you'll all tolerate to the team.
I'm most interested in creating and accepting goals, challenges and min-challenges.
I like to read and comment on SP blogs.
I prefer to stay out of chatty threads and game threads.
