Rats! That makes me so angry!

I had a great post where I was witty and charming and informational. I hit [Post Message] and zip - off it went. It is now hiding somewhere in the twilight zone of the internet - or possibly hiding in a damaged packet on my hard drive.

It's time for me to get some zzzzz's (cute, huh), so I will return to ask my questions tomorrow or Sunday.

The automatic censor doesn't understand foreign words, so that's how I do my cursing. I can curse fluently in Spanish, competently in German and a little in Vietnamese. I also have some foreign hand gestures I can use plus Pig Latin (rated expert) and a couple in Italian and French and a couple in English. No, not American English or Australian English, but Her Majesty's English (Do you have ANY idea what it means when a Brit says "bloody" this or that? - GROSS!).

He's a genius about many things, and not so smart about many other things, kinda like the rest of us!

My name is Della, btw
Oh, and my book needs proofreading, plus I have lost 1 chapter, short though important, and it needs an update.

Yes, I am here! I am also in a poetry forum where I'm a leader. ( there are 2 of us LEADERS, only)

Kewl! So now I know you want to write a book, too.

Mine needs proofread and I have lost a chapter or 2. Out side of that I'm ready!

What kind of stories do you write?

Della

Good evening. My name is Bob (in real life) and I am an addict. I am addicted to reading, averaging 360 + books/year. I have a natural ability to read very quickly (measured at 600+ WPM with 80% retention) which makes what I do a possibility. As you may have guessed by my icon, I am one of the required 99 male members of Spark. I am semi-active on the Sarcastics team, a couple of political teams and am occasionally active on a few more teams.

I am a kind, empathetic person, but I know that women define "kind and empathetic" differently than do men, so please make allowances for me.

I know "Woman Speak" well enough to recognize it if forewarned, but "knowing" it and actually being able to understand and use it takes great deal of effort. I am the Gordian Knot's Alexander.

Many woman look at me after finding out I have been happily married only once (43 years) to the same woman (still am) and feel that I may not be just the usual guy.

I'm not. I don't claim to be better, just ..... different.

I read adventure in any genre, as well as mystery. My favorite reading runs to action adventure, mystery psychology (Kellerman), historical fiction, science fiction, and fantasy.

I have been a member of Spark as long or longer than anyone. There are a few who have been members longer than I, but they can't prove it. They are stuck in this incarnation of Spark and we all have the same start date - when this format was adopted. I've also been here longer than some of the Spark Coaches have been employed. I was one of the six people who formed the "Dealing with Depression" team and was the team leader until it reached 25,000 members - then I had to get help to keep it going. I'm still a member of the team, but I have retired from my position of co team leader. It is now the largest team on Spark with more than a million team mates.

As a writer, I've always wanted (dreamed, fantasized) about being a writer, but have recently decided to actually try it. I sat down and started writing and in 2 days had 12,000+ words down. At that point, my "muse" decided to play tricks with me and every way the story seemed to go was stilted, artificial, and/or cheesy.

I joined this team with the intention of being stimulated and challenged by other team members. Before I could actually get to the introduction forum, my brain stuff started percolating and I just wrote another 6k words (3 chapters).

Members of other teams would tell you that I am prone to long posts (what better way to practice writing), but that I am sarcastic to the point of being funny, less knowledgeable of facts than I think, but I mean well.

For the other chapters in my life, you will have to wait ..... for the Rest of the Story"!

Nice to meet y'all.

Look here at you. I am so glad I have a friend in this. I did kind of feel out of place but since you are here, I don't feel so alone!!! To all, my name is Amy Beth and I love to write stories. Someday I would actually like to publish one. I live in Kentucky and came from Ohio. I hope to get involved in this group, at least a little.

Jesus is my strength for I can do all things through Christ Jesus Who strengthens me.Philippians 4:13
I am not ashamed of Jesus Christ. I serve Him with all of me.
My love for Him surpasses any desires on this earth and it is only because of Him that I live.
I am racing toward the goal. I will not quit or give up.
I love Jesus because He first loved me.

NANDERSON11 Good for you ~ I'm fairly new, 2 months (this time around), November 4th!
I love to write, and though I was rather athletic in school, I need the encouragement to get moving again!

Awesome, I found this team today too! I'm not a technical writer, but have taken a few classes on it to help me with I.T. work I do. I am currently 80% done with my first draft of my first novel. It has been forever in the making..Good luck to everyone here.

I'm also a technical writer who sits all day (and long into the night). I've learned to get up at least once an hour and take a little walk. Been on Spark since April 2013 and found this team today. Glad to be here.

Hi! I've thought about doing some technical writing. My husband is bugging me to give my writing a kick in the butt! I've got several projects going. I hope I'm not spreading myself too thin. I'm working on a christian fantasy/thriller, a nonfiction book, and I have a poem that I'm working on promoting. The poem is about child abuse written from a teacher's perspective. My goal is to have the poem illustrated and publish it with some training on recognizing abuse and how to report it. I belong to a group of writers that is publishing an anthology. This month it will be published and will include the first chapter of my book and my poem as well. Looking forward to chatting!

Hello, fellow writers. I'm a professional technical writer who does a lot of sitting all day. I've been to a few conferences in the past for technical communicators and I've noticed that a lot of them look like me: a bit..ahem...wide. I've been working out three times a week with a trainer for several months and finally I'm starting to not only endure exercise, but also like it. Heck, some days I love it. I know--who would have thought? I want to inspire other people like me (bookworms, people who didn't play sports in school) to find their inner athlete.
