Hi everyone. I'm glad I found this site. Like others, I am new to Sparkpeople, but not new to weight loss. I am doing okay with the diet part. The exercising is a little bit of a challenge due to a knee injury which is what ultimately put me back on the wagon to lose weight.

Hey rachel! I'm nicole, I am in a similar position to you in that I joined this site a couple years back and lost a substantial amount of weight, which I now have gained back. :( I'm looking to lose 30 pounds to get myself back to feeling fit and active :) I am 5'10'' and weigh 179 pounds (however I'm told I don't look it because I have a butt for days HA!) but I really want to get down to 150 before my birthday in December, and the continue on my fitness journey from there :)

Hi! I lost about 60 pounds before joining sparkpeople, and would like to lose another 60! I'm a 21 year old college student, and will be living in a dorm for the first time in September. Buffet style dining halls should be fun... I love food a little too much, and have a very difficult time getting myself to eat better! I have two mini Australian shepherds that I am crazy about (and will miss very much when I go away to school in the fall!), and I also am completely addicted to Zumba, which allowed me to lose those first 60 pounds while continuing to still eat total crap. However, I think I'm finally reaching a point where that may need to change....

I hope everyone is having a good summer!

Good Morning Team!
My name is Nancy and I just became a member yesterday when a friend suggested the site to me. I'm 5'6" and 233 lbs. A few years ago I dropped all this weight and felt fantastic. Now I am back to where I started. Mad at myself for letting it happen....but more motivated than ever to get it back off. Lovin the support here and all the information at my fingertips. Hi,

My name is Sarah, I'm 33, live in the UK.

I was on this site about a year ago, but sadly didnt get very far due to becoming ill with mental health issues (I have depression etc)

But, I am back, and I am raring to go!!!!! I will survive and do this!

I am currently weighing in at 119kgs and want to get down to around 70-75, so have a great deal to lose! But hey, everything takes a little time, I need to accept that, Rome wasnt built in a day! So will be taking each day as it comes emoticon

I also have the added hinderance of being diabetic (am on pills and injections) and having a great deal of insulin resistance to get over emoticon but, I will get there!

Just started Friday! I have lots of zeal today, and hopefully I'll be able to stay in high gear for a long time. This isn't my first weight loss attempt by any means, but I kind of like the idea that I'm on my own, with the back up of thousands of folks with the same problems and concerns. I have type 2 diabetes and have had one heart attack and 2 way bypass surgery. I still have angina issues, and I am afraid of exercising. It has become a real difficulty for me. I know I have to do it, but I'm afraid to walk out of the door. My heart attack happened when I was walking at the park. Most of my exercise is done while shopping--walking around the mall, Target, etc. I hope to resolve this issue and get off my butt.

Hi there,

I just enrolled on Sunday, hoping to find somewhere I could find answers to fitness questions, and people I could relate to. I am 28, and own a business and am managing that while staying home with my 2 year old and taking care of him and the house. I lost 45lbs over the last year or so, and I'd never felt better. I'm 5'5" and WAS down to 137lb...but now I'm gaining it back. Hypothyroidism medication hasn't been working so I've been so tired and groggy I haven't been working out (seriously, passed out while doing expense reports yesterday), instead just getting really down on myself. And eating. (Got new meds today, hoping they kick in soon)


:( I think I'm going to be really happy I found this website. Already I've learned some new exercises to try. Everyone seems very nice. Gaining weight back is just so frustrating. I'm hoping to find some help staying motivated and help getting back on, and staying on, the right path. I did it before, I can do it again.

Hi there,

My name is Cathy and I just discoved SparkPeople on Sunday night. I'm a SAHM with three kids ages 2, 4 and 6. I weigh 229 lbs. and I want to lose 95lbs. I have no real target date but, clearly, the sooner the better... if I could get rid of all this extra weight by next fall I'd be thrilled. It would be nice not to dodge the cameras at Christmas this year!

I'm a bit nervous about tanking but am also looking forward to working through this with y'all.

I just joined today and am trying to figure all this stuff out. I will be 25 on 9/6. I have 2 kids, a girl 4, and a boy 3. I'm about 5'2 and weigh about 155. I would like to get down to at least 130 and work from there. I make attempts to eat healthy, but typically end up going out and getting a crappy lunch.. I am trying to make small changes so that it's something I can stick to in the long run. One step at a time...
Also how do you get the little tracker thing at the bottom of everyone's postings?

Hi everyone! My name is Amy, I have 3 beautiful children, Hayley is 16 and just got her driver's license.. :/, Ryan is 7.5, and Matthew is 4.5. I have recently started back to work after being a SAHM for the last 5 years, and am actually loving it. The being on my feet all day though has pointed out even more, how much better I'd feel if I could just get this weight off! I have been struggling with weight loss off and on since the birth of my daughter. My ultimate goal is to lose about 85 lbs, but I'm setting my first goal for 40, and actually sticking to a diet/fitness plan that is a realistic one that will work for my whole family. I can't wait to make new friends and help encourage everyone here with their goals!

Hi everyone!!

My name is Michelle. I will be 43 on July 29th. I am 4'11" tall and weigh 205 pounds. I want to lose 82 pounds. I was recently diagnosised with chronic pancreatitis, gastroparesis, and gastritis. I am trying to find foods I can eat without causing pain. This is difficult. For pancreatitis I need to be on a low carb, low fat diet. For gastroparesis I need to be on a low protein, low fiber diet. I am on 16 pills for my stomach/digestion daily.

I am hoping along with my doctor's advice, SparkPeople will help me get on the right track to health and fitness.

I look forward to getting to know everyone and making some really great friends.

Hi Everyone! I'm Shelly. I'm 22 and am a full time student. All of that homework combined with working almost full time and attempting to have a social life, has put my health on the back burner. I am currently at my highest weight. Around 237. I'm refusing to dwell on that number and remember that this isn't something I can change overnight. I am hoping to find some support of those days when all I seem able to do is eat chocolate and drink soda. I joined yesterday and am off to a bit of a rough start but am staying positive. I've lost about 35 pounds before by eating every few hours but that seems super hard with my new graveyard work schedule. I'm definitely a work in progress!

Hi!! I'm Christina, I was a member a few years ago, and lost about 20 or 30 lbs, while I was staying home with my daughters, then started working, and just quit with everything. Now, I have gained a lot of it back, and am starting over from the beginning. I am 31yo, 5'9", and weigh 215, hoping to eventually get down to about 150lbs.

My biggest problem, is fast food. I work in a mall, and seem to eat at Chic Fil A every day, instead of packing a lunch. Well, that is stopping now.

Hello, I'm Francis, I just re-joined SparkPeople today. I'm 24, 5 foot 9 inches, and now weigh 189 pounds. I am in a completely different mindset than I was when I lost weight before on here. I know now that there will never be "an end", this is a lifestyle change and I am learning new ways to incorporate exercise and a healthy diet into my current life, which I will continue for the rest of it.

Hi my name is Elise. I was a member of spark before and it was working well for me. I injured my back a stopped the program, big mistake! I gained back the weight I have lost. My name is Amy, I am one of the Team Leaders of this new member team. I have joined SPARK in August 2008. I think this is the most emoticon healthy website there is. I have lost in total over 60lbs.....I have found the more involved and the more I participate the more successful I have been in this healthy journey.
