Well. I feel that we all eat far too much grain for one thing...
After doing a lot of research on raw milk, I have realized that it is pasteurized skim milk and grain that farmers feed the pigs to make them fat.
There is also a lot of research of the human body and the food that man has eaten for the last 200,000 years. Grain was only introduced 10,000 years ago. Since then, our bones have deteriorated, and modern day disease was born. Cancer, diabetes, heart disease, cavities, etc.
If we look at the obesity epidemic today and the Food Pyramid I feel it's fairly obvious where the problem lies.
Low fat snacks, skim milk and 6-8 servings of grain per day.
I think we can all live a lot better without (or at least a lot less) grain in our diets.
I could go on and on... but you get my drift.
I try to avoid grain, and even started doing the paleo diet. I found that to be a little bit difficult to abstain completely from grain. So, I will call myself a grain minimalist I guess. lol I still like carbs... so that's not it. Most days I don't eat any grain. Some days I may even have 1-2 servings. I just can't imagine eating it 6 times a day! Seems like a lot of pig food to me.
