I'm working on my new goal and plan. Haven't blogged about it yet, so maybe I'll do that. Got my picture, but not sure it shows anything good enough. May retake but up a bit closer. My DH got me in a full length as I asked, but maybe too far away.

I am pulling out all the stops on this one.

Did not really do that much yesterday as it was a nasty day here in my little world. The wind was whipping up a frothy rain and you got wet even under cover. I'm used to that from Seattle but we don't usually get that here.

We went shopping for groceries and got a huge workout. We actually split up and the DH went off to the plumbing department of Walmart while I went to the groceries. We usually start in the dairy department and I did real well there, all by myself, but then I started skipping around, looking at my list, which is not done in any order except as thought of while looking through the cupboards and reading my menu plans. Anyway, did a lot of backtracking and crossing my trail more than once.

It was good exercise, but not a good grocery shopping experience. We usually go isle by isle and get what we need on our list and it doesn't take as much time. So will be going back to that style of shopping again.

Have a great day! emoticon

I understand that one - been there, done that! - but once you start getting out of the comfort zone, your comfort zone enlarges. Look at it this way. You wake up in a tiny cabin in the middle of nowhere. You have no idea where you are, no memory of anything before, no cell phone or any other means of communication. You note that you are alone, so you get up, dress, and wander around in the cabin to see what's there. The pantry is stocked, you realize you can cook and since you are hungry, you make yourself breakfast.

Days pass and that's all you do is make meals and eat and wander around checking out the corners and cupboards. Now you start to get a little bored. You look out the window and there's a picnic table outside, not far from your little cabin. You scan the horizon. There's a lot of snow out there, and a forest beyond the table. You don't see any one or anything that can hurt you and you watch it for days. Finally, you go out there and sit at that table. Nothing bad happens and you decide you're bringing your lunch the next day.

You take your lunch to the picnic table and eat in the sun light and like it a lot. You've expanded your world from the tiny cabin to the picnic table. Now you're comfortable with that.

See where this goes? Eventually you're attempting to explore the near forest and that your comfort zone, expanded more. Same thing is true on stretching an all exercise. The more you do, the better you feel. (I'm writing a blog, here.) It enhances you. Your immune system gets stronger, your muscles get stronger, your balance gets stronger, your mind gets stronger, you forget things less and you use more of your brain. You discover you are eating better because your body is craving better things. It makes your taste-buds "grow up" and you start liking things that as a kid you wouldn't touch with a 20' pole.

Stretch ES! You can do it! It's simple, fun, easy, and really, really beneficial for you and your brain is actually craving it as much as your body. So go slow. Do only a little. Pick up a bottle of water and lock your elbow to your side and lift the bottle from your hip to straight out in front of you, then lower it and do that 10 times. It can be done fast or slow. Fast burns the calories and fat, slow grows muscle fiber. When you do 10 reps for 3 sets, you're done with that exercise until the day after tomorrow.

There are other strength exercises, but when you get your world expanded with the one I gave you, you can go explore the Fitness center at SP and find more. You'll be doing like I do with upper body on Tuesdays, Core on Thursdays, and lower body on Saturdays. You will feel better, I kid you not! Mentally and physically better! It is amazing!

Thanks FG for the ideas. I actually eat celery about every day for lunch but don't eat peanut butter with it. Love it with peanut butter. Well, I just love peanut butter. :) To do lists are my thing. If it is not on my to do list, it is a high possibility I will not do it. Example, paper work I need to do for school. Thought how I needed to work on it yesterday but didn't happen. Will start on it tomorrow since it is now on my to do list. :) Stretching myself, well that is usually something I have to be forced/conned into doing. yep, I like to stay in my normal environment of comfort.

Hi, Zacevetob - we gotta shorten that name. We shorten everone's name here. Makes it so much easier. Let's see. How about Z! Nobody else on the team has that and if we call you Z! we'll have to shorten the next Z to something different than Z! 'cuz it will already be yours. Do you mind if we just call you Z! ??? Anyway, we hope you enjoy the team and get as crazy as I do into it. I really like this place.

ES - Don't be jealous about my trip to Maine. I'm going to have fun and you will, too, someday. I'll try to share through pix for you. I'm going to a spot I've never been and have no idea what to expect. I will also be going to a few places I've been before so I should have some nice pix for you.

Keep working on those goals, ES. But stretch yourself by adding a goal every month. It's great to keep working on the ones we know we need to reach, but if we don't add one all the time, we don't really stretch ourselves and then we have to go back to square one for the next goal.

Here's another tip - eat celery with the peanut butter - it burns more calories to eat it than what the celery provides in the first place but it adds fiber and a crunch factor if you like crunchy.

Another tip - when you leave your desk - take a not pad and pencil/pen. Write down one or two word reminders for yourself. When you get back to your desk, do not close or hide your notepad but leave it where you can see it. As you accomplish the goals, you can cross the reminder off your list. It will make you feel like you have really accomplished a great deal because it is sitting in front of you. I used to date my pages and keep them for awhile so I could look at it and realize how much I accomplished on specific days. Also you can learn a lot from it on other levels, too. So when you are walking down the hall and you think about almonds, write ALMONDS on your notepad, then you won't forget them when you get back.

Have a great one!

Another great idea. I have a can of them at school but always forget I have them. Actually thought about them today but then forgot about them once i made it back to my room after school.

I am struggling with calories and worried about putting my body in starvation mode. Due to n active job and exercise my number of calories can be 2000 or higher. Thatis really hard to meet hen you are eating healthy of fruits and veggies. Peanut butter is a good idea. I love it and could fill up on it.

Hey ladies...thought I'd join in :)

I dont know if you guys know, but not eating enough calories puts your body into "starvation" mode and actually STORES fat...so try to fill those calories up (with healthy choices of course lol)...maybe like peanut butter or things of that nature...or even drinking an extra protein shake.

Also, what I found that I am not doing...You HAVE to measure. You'd be surprised how off we can be in guesstimating what a 1/3 cup or 1/4 cup is....and that can make a big difference. I especially find this true for my creamer for my coffee...It says 2 tbsp...well I prob use 1/4 cup creamer....which is way more and will TOTALLY throw my cal intake for the day.

Hope this helps...I need to do both of these as well :)

I am trying to not stress like I have done in the past. Learning to walk away to take breaks from work when I can. Of course that only works when I don't have students in my room. :) Second trying to prioritize my time and just accomplish what I can. Instead of stressing about all I needed to do this afternoon I took care of one thing at a time. When it was time to go home, I brought the few notebooks I had home with me and will work on them once I take care of what I want to get done this long weekend.

Tomorrow is my weigh in and I will see if I lost anything these past few weeks. My food choices/calories has been so much better and I have gotten in a lot more exercise. My one concern is that supposedly I need to eat more calories for all the exercise and walking around I get in a day. The past few days I have been logging my food and can not bring myself to eat all the calories it says I need. don't want to be starving myself but I also feel that if I am not hungry I shouldn't be eating.

I am with you looking forward to a new month. Not sure on my goals just yet, may just keep it to making good food choices, log my food and cont/up my exercise.

Jealous of you going to Maine. I have never been and it is on my bucket list of places to go. :) Flying is a pain but also remember how fast you will get there verses driving. :) I am sure you all will have a wonderful trip!

Work wrecks havoc on your life. It gives you a kind of schedule and luls you into thinking you are doing great, but the stress you don't even realize is there will give you problems for the long-term. I worked graveshift for years and now, years after, I am still awake all night long. This morning it was 2 am when I woke up and I didn't go to bed until 10 pm.

I didn't lose weight this month, but I didn't really gain either. I am figuring out why I can burn as many calories a day that I eat and still not lose weight. I have re-read the SP Nutrition Reference Guide and for September, I am going to up my calorie intake from 1000 a day to 1200-1500 a day. I will do my 1 mile (at least) walk and my 1 hour pool jogging and strength exercises everyday and I am breaking into doing floor aerobics everyday, too. Not doing the floor aerobics everyday, yet, but getting there.

Anyway, looking forward to a new month in some ways and not in other ways. Getting ready to go to Maine the middle of September and looking forward to it, but think my stomach is acting up already. Flying up - hate flying as you pay a lot of money for it and get treated less than freight. I guess I shouldn't complain as I do get a seat for my money.

I am doing so good at school. Still not eating sugar at home but finding it hard to stay healthy. Usually my day would end around 2 or 3 on a workday. But it has been about 5 or later everyday this week. Then because of errands I don't get home until later. Once school starts with kids next week that will change due to my daughters. I don't last long when I got 2 seven year olds talking to me at school.

That is awesome that you got your exercise in before the rain came in. I am starting to miss the pool. I took the girls a lot this summer and haven't been in over a week now. Will have to go a few more times before they close it for the year.

Have a good one! :)

Good for you for bringing your fruit in expectation of the meeting with the sugar highs tempting everyone. I know it's hard, but it's better going through with it than having the guilts later. I don't know why the guilts get me so down - it just blows an entire day for me. I can't even force myself to track food the rest of the day. For me, it's much better to not get the guilts so whatever it takes.

Yesterday we went to the pool around 4:30pm because on Tuesdays the pool is closed for cleaning during the Coffee Clatch so we would not be able to get to the pool until around 10am. By then I was working and didn't feel like breaking for the pool, then at 4:30 I thought we better go as the sky was getting nasty looking. We got in and managed to get some exercise done with an eye and ear to the sky. I think we might have made our hour when I heard the thunder.

We came home and about an hour later we were eating dinner (taco salad) when I heard what sounded like rain thundering down. Looked out the window and it was so nasty, it was like fog and dark all at the same time. I think the clouds came down with the rain. It was a soaker for sure.

Keep up the great work. I'll talk to you later!

HI FG!

I actually did good at my MIL's that day but succumb to temptation later on. My husbands cousins were staying with us for a week and Cathy brought in a lot of goodies into our house. I caved that week and over did it but as soon as they left I got back on track. :) Well, except for last night where I split a large coke with my husband.

I agree with you on how it makes you feel. I got down in the dumps and and felt really tired when I started putting sugar into my body. Then the cravings and withdrawals of it all when i stopped. That is the worst for me. I found it hard to stop the second time than I did the first time.

Well, I must be going. Will be attending a staff meeting soon where I am sure there will be lots of sugar goodies to avoid. I hope you have a great day and yes, I am going to avoid them. For even if they do not have fruit (not sure since I haven't been up there) I brought my own. :)

Hi, ES - I forgot this thread - sorry. Anyway how did that trip to the MILs house go. Did you do it the way you wanted or cave in on the cake?

Another thing I have discovered about myself, when I eat the sugar stuff now, which is rare, TG, I get real lethargic and have no energy and don't "feel well". It's like one of those days when you don't want to do anything, feel guilty cuz you aren't doing anything, and you just don't feel great but you aren't sick. Sugar does that to us. When you stay away from sugar, you feel better and the longer you stay away from sugar, the better.

The hard part is making sure the stuff you buy from the store isn't loaded with hidden sugar. Just remember all those funny names on the food label are really sugar and I say, if they had to call it all sugar, it would be the number one ingredient on the label.

Also salt is another things that makes us feel off. Plus the sugar and salt in our systems does things, like break down our veins and the tissues. Life is difficult enough without having our tissues and veins falling apart. Makes it a little difficult getting the blood back to the heart to go around again if our veins are full of holes and slumping down to our feet and ankles.

Anyway, all that gory stuff aside, I hope you have a great day and I hope you had SparklingSuccess at your MILs. It is hard, but when you feel better and you know its because you dumped the sugar and the salt, you'll be able to fight the urges a lot easier.

Yesterday, we had to go to a specialist for DH. The appointment ended at noon and DH took me to lunch because we wanted to exchange some "rained out" baseball tickets for another game. The ticket booth was closed for an hour and a half lunch. The restaurant next door to the ticket booth claimed to have Home Cooking. It was basically a tiny restaurant that had been there for years and was still pumping out good food. It was clean inside and so we found a spot and looked at the menu killing time to save gas. I ordered country fried steak, mashed potatoes, brown gravy instead of sausage gravy and Italian green beans.

The beans were huge green strinkbeans. They tasted good but looked like they had come from a can. Sure enough they had come from a can, but the rest had been cooked to order, although it came from the kitchen quite fast. Being so small, people came in for the specials and they could have a pile of it cooked and waiting. So okay it tasted good and I couldn't see anything I didn't like so Restaurant Impossible wasn't looming in my mind constantly.

When we were finished, we still had 45 minutes to kill so we sat thre and looked at our choices of desert. Apple pie, Cherry pie, Hersey pie, cheese cake, and something else I can't remember because I eliminated it as the #1 sugar item on that menu instantly.

I finally went with cheese cake with strawberries that the waitress assured me had no sugar added. I asked if they had anything sugar free and she smiled and said, no. I ate the fruit from my cheese cake, took one bite of the cheesecake and found it so sweet I thought my teeth were going to melt. That's what living off sugar does to your taste buds. I'm finding it true when you reduce your sodium intake. Things are far too salty anymore.

I am starting to discover that fat does the same thing. I've been reducing my fat intake and the other day I broke down and had something from McDonalds. OMG! I got sick from the fat. I litterly hurled it up. So I figured my insides are happy without all the gunk coming down and having to deal with it now was just too much, so it was thrown out the fastest way possible, up!

I'm learning, slowly, but I'm learning and I've noticed I down a cup size on my new bra that I bought a year ago. One of those exercise bras you can wear around without anything to cover it - yeah - right. Not me, but at anyrate I put it on last night and it's no longer an exercise bra for me as I can move far too much in it plus it's too large. Rats on the wasted money, but Hooray on the diminishing size.

So my size is getting smaller, I just wish the scale would go down, too. I'm getting very frustrated on that scale.

emoticon I am just like you, egg, milk, salt, etc. it is all the same. I have never noticed how the cholesterol was different. I have seen it different for calories but I just assumed that is because of how you cooked. People tend to put something in their pan to keep the egg from sticking and depending on what you use or how much you use affects its nutrition value.

I just happy to log and stay with in my calories right now. When doing that and not loosing weight, then I will figure out what I need to tweak to get the journey working again.

I agree we all need a break. I was feeling awful yesterday with a terrible headache. I got all down in the dumps and what did I do, eat. Over on calories but I am okay. Today is a new day and one bad day aint going to kill me. Now two or more that is another thing. I just realized I have a shower tomorrow and party next tuesday. Will have to plan accordingly for those but I do expect I will be going over my calorie intake.

I'm for easy in a world of difficult! It gets to a point, sometimes, when you can't help but give up for a little while. I think that's why I have such a difficult time with my food tracker. Like eggs, for instance. If you say you used a fresh egg, the cholesterol and calories are higher than a scrambled egg. My contention is, an egg is an egg. I'm not going to use the shell in anything I make, but if you make cookies, healthy ones or not, you use at least one egg. You don't scramble it first, you just crack it open and use it. At some point, it's cooked in the cookie dough, but now my cookie dough has a higher content of cholesterol than it should. I really don't understand the idea behind the difference in the way you use the egg. To me, and egg is an egg, like milk is milk and salt is salt. How can a hard boiled egg be less in cholesterol than a soft boiled egg? It just drives me nuts so then I get to a point where I just wing it, knowing I'm eating a specific thing and amount and I'm close enough to not worry about how much I got for breakfast or lunch.

Gotta go. Have a good one - glad I could give you an idea on how to make it past parties without wanting to run out the backdoor 5 minutes after you walked in the front door..

I so love your idea of the notebook on a string like a dance card. I have to say dance cards were before my time but do know what they are. :) I do enjoy taking photos and notes are always good to help improve my photography. Unfortunately, I never like to dig around for paper. Hanging it off my wrist is perfect.

I also love your idea of the potluck. I have thought about that before how I wish I could say I used up so many calories with out having to figure out eat thing I ate. When you attend parties like that it is just easier to say all you calories are gone in that one meal.

Here's a tip that might come in handy for you, especially when in a dinner or party atmospher with people you haven't seen in awhile. I call it, Camera Hound. Nobody want's to bother the camera person. Except maybe to pose for a picture and ask for a copy. Take your camera, or cell phone with a camera. Take a small notebook or compbook (they have them at quite small sizes these days) and a pencil or pen. Tie a string around the binding, as if it were a dance card, then make a loop big enought to fit over your fist so you can hang it from your wrist. Clip a pen to the string. Now you can walk around taking pictures and not be hassled by people pestering you to try this or that. You have the perfect excuse. I used it a couple of times and carried a glass of water in a wine glass, no ice. It looked like white wine so I wasn't bothered there either. The biggest problem was people asking for pictures, which is why I went to the dance-card style little book so I could write down names and addresses, no email addresses to send the requested picture.

People are so pleased you took their picture and promise to email it to them they don't even think about pestering you and eventually they will compliment your weight loss. It's a plan, which is what you want. Something easily carried off and handy. It really does work. Make sure you make detailed notes to yourself about what picture to send that requester.

We had our Memorial Day Celebration potluck today. I was picky on what I ate. There must have been a ton of food. We had more people than expected and of course everyone had to bring something. It all looked great, but I was pretty picky. I didn't eat potato anything, ate a piece of ham, a bite of a million jello salads that were super good, a pile of fruit.

Since I have put my sweet-tooth to sleep and don't want to wake it up, I stayed away from the sugary frosted sheet cakes they bought for the "party". It was fun to look at, but all I could think of was, "Don't wake it up - you'll be so sorry." I didn't wake it up. I am so happy with myself. Can't possibly track it on the food tracker. I think I'm going to add a recipe to my tracker and call it PotLuck! I'll make sure I put enough garbage on it to add up to 1000 calories and not worry about anything else for the day. I ate very little today and made it work for myself. If I do PotLuck! then I'll remember it was some stuff I can't really account for but did my best to eat healthy in a sea of good looking garbage. Hate to call it that, but healthy wise, I know it was garbage. I have turned into a health snob! Forgive me! I'll try not to be borish and snobbish. But I guess its the way I look at food these days and for me, it is a great change.

Just remember, don't give up, make your plan of action and stick to it and don't let anyone get you to stray. They obviously don't know any better and are well meaning. They can't help it. We are a nation of brainwashed people, thanks to our food processors. Most of us don't know better. We Sparkies do know better and that's why we are working so hard to make ourselves better. I wish you SparklingSuccess in your future fun time with friends.

We can do it! WooHoo!

It is funny that you mention it being hard to figure out rewards before and what your rewards are now. I was the same way. My rewards are usually all practical stuff I/we need around the house. My rewards are a massage, pedicure (both not practical but nice to get done), clothes (only when new ones are needed and goodwill first place to look), exercise gadgets, garden gadgets, healthy foods for the house. :)

I love the idea of your bracelet! I have thought about making a charm bracelet but worry about the cost of making one of those.

In the past I have had people who have pestered me to eat food. I am actually going to go and be with some of those folds this summer for a few days. Even though I am nervous I am hoping to do good. I have been turning down food that people offer me. All have not pestered me about it but the big part was that I didn't regret turning it down. Instead I was proud of my self control.

Thanks for all the great ideas! emoticon

Losing weight is difficult most of the time. Occasionally, we luck out and without realizing it, do the right thing and discover that we lost weight. But when you realize that you have made changes and then the scale confirms that they are good changes, it makes you feel so much better about yourself because now you have proof the changes you made were the right ones. It seems to make me feel better and not so defeated when I find the scale went up a pound or stayed the same. I don't feel so easily tempted to throw in the towel and feel so humiliated, so defeated that I binge eat.

I think one of the things that keeps impressing me over this journey is the fact that I used to have troubles thinking of rewards for myself that weren't food based. I know I used to think, when I lose the next pound, I'm going to McDonald's or when I get to goal, I'm going to some restaurant I love but haven't been to in a while.

Now I think, the next reward I give myself is going to be a new swim suit, or a pair of shoes I need a lot, or a filter for the refrigerator. I know, they're kind of weird, but they are not food based and it just amazes me that I think like that. I really didn't think I would ever be able to do that.

I want to learn how to make jewellery. I am designing a bracelet that will celebrate my reaching weight goal. I have a ways to go to reach that point, but I have a lot of things to learn yet, too, one of them, jewellery making.

When I can afford to make it, I'll start learning so that when I reach goal weight, I'll be ready to put on the bracelet.

I hope you feel the same about your journey, that you have made changes and they are proving to be the right changes. It makes so much difference and it makes you feel like you can do it, even through the rough spots.

If you ever get someone that seems to not hear you when you say, "No, thank you." and they keep pestering you to take something, or keep offering some food item you do not wish, after you say, "No, thank you," for the more than necessary time, the easiest thing for you to do is to leave the area where the person is. If they follow you, you know for sure they are jealous of what you are doing because they can't do it for themselves. Now comes the hardest part, being nice but still telling them that you do not appreciate what they are doing to you.

I learned in AWANA to say things like, "I like you, I am glad you are here, but I am not happy with what you are doing. You must stop what you are doing (be specific) immediately. Do you understand what I am saying?" This always stopped the person and while it did not crush them, they knew they were wrong. Most of the time, this was done regardless of if someone was around or not. I feel, as adults, things like this can be done in private - why humiliate the other person, warranted or not. You just want them to realize you know what they are doing even if they don't know what they are doing and it's childish and needs to stop.

I don't think you'll have the above situation, but I always want to give a person the idea of how to handle a situation like that because sometimes, when we are in the middle of it, we are so angry at the person we can't think well enough to come up with a nice way to tell them to back off. If you know ahead of time, practice it in your mind, when it happens you'll be able to say it with kindness but firmness and maybe you'll make a friend, or a better friend.

I wish you SpraklingSuccess in your journey. Have a SparklingWeekend and a SparklingHoliday!

That is awesome Florida about your weight loss and you know what it was that help you get there! emoticon

You are right that it is nice to celebrate and feel positive about our accomplishments. By not binge eating the other day, it proved that I don't have to rely on food to get me through rough periods. That I am strong to resist my urges of temptations. I have been offered goodies these past few weeks and have said no. That has made me very proud of myself.

I do have a emoticon to share. I haven't weighed in a month and just weighed this morning. I lost 4lbs. emoticon

emoticon You won another battle! emoticon emoticon emoticon
emoticon and you just proved it to yourself and everyone else that cares to notice!

Doesn't it make you feel so much stronger and have such a positive attitude about everything else, including your can do attitude?

I love it when I feel like that and it's something I try to feel all the time. But at the same time, without the stress and strief, we would never have the wonderful feeling of being positive because of what we accomplished. We would never grow and never change, so embrace the tough times because the light is at the end of the short short tunnel and when you get to it, you will be in the shiny sun again and feeling so wonderful.

I am feeling very happy with myself. I got on the scale this morning and was extremely happy to see that I had lost 2 pounds. I know what I did to do that too and I'm moving down the track armed with my new information and proof. Less fat, less sodium! Somewhere along the line, I added sodium and fat to my diet without realizing it and I was stuck there for 18 months. Now, I'm moving again and I am so glad.

emoticon on your accomplishment! emoticon emoticon

I definitely go through periods of wanting to throw in the towel. Today being one of them. But like you said, the more I have dealt with these times I have become stronger. Instead of throwing in the towel and eating cake or muffins I went back to my room to eat my healthy lunch.

Do you find yourself feeling like you just don't care - you're tired of it all and you just sort of ignore it or put on blinders and don't look at it, all the while knowing you need to pay attention because you don't really want to eat that way?

I go through periods like that. Get this snippy and stupid attitude that all the stuff I have learned is not helping at all, then I shake my head and think, "Have you lost your mind?" Then I start working at it again, but there are times when I feel so tired of it and "why haven't I learned how to eat like an intelligent person, a grown up, without having to think about it all the time. When do I grow up?"

I don't know what it is. I know it takes 21 days to learn a new habit and it's the same amount of time to break an old habit by replacing it with a new habit. Going at it on 5 years now so I beat the 21 days a long time ago, or several times over so why do those feelings come back? Little rebelious attitudes of unhappiness? I don't know, but I also think I am getting better at seeing them a lot faster and not letting the sit there for much more than a minute or so. I guess that is another thing I have to work at. Maybe someday I won't get those feelings at all. Maybe it's chemical makeup, which is what I think it really is. I like to analyze things, I like to learn from my mistakes. Analyzing things makes it easier for me to not get into situations that cause me the grief I've already experienced. I think it's all we can do sometimes to sweep up the mess and move on with a feeling of accomplishment, even if we do have to work a little harder tomorrow because we made a mess of the day before.

Sometimes it helps to complain about it, too. Maybe that is how we rid ourselves of the attitude and the chemical imbalance at the same time. We are definately strange creatures, which makes us more special and more unique and wonderful creatures. Keep struggling on! You're growing into the new rose or butterfly.

It could be the change in the seasons, but I find everytime I am in the "dumps" it's because I have been taking in far too many carbs and I can dig my way back to sugar every time. Maybe it's just me, but I don't think so.

I am also learning that if I don't do any exercise, I start to feel bogged down. Exercise is so strange to me. I keep coming back to how it seems to the be the "cure all". I can't tell you how many times, recently, that I have felt ho-hum and wonder what it is, then gone off to do some exercise, like step aerobics (I don't have the step, but that's safer for me as I have a great imagination and I can see the workout step right there on my floor) and when I'm done, I'm sweaty(Yuk) and breathing fast and feeling super good and that feeling goes on for hours and hours and I get more things done and I'm not in the dump any more.

So I actually think a combo of cutting out the sugar and doing some good exercise is the answer. Hope you give it a try.

Have a great one!

Thanks Florida for this topic. And I love I was the first one to get to use it.

It is crazy that you mention sugar for I know I have had way more sugar/processed foods the past few days. Yesterday i felt like I was exhausted and very unmotivated. I figured it was my allergy cold getting the best of me, still a possibility, but the sugar is right on target. I will have to be more conscious of the sugar I am taking in and see how it affects me. I know my husband was not feeling the greatest yesterday and I know we both have been attacking the sodas and sweets lately. Something to truly think about and investigate.

ESMommy13 - You posted a huddle this morning about how you feel down in the dumps. I may be able to help. From personal experience, I have noted that when I consume something with sugar in it, I am unhappy or down in the dumps, nervous feeling, all that. After I stay away from sugar, I am much more peppy and happy. I will suggest you check your sugar usage. Maybe you, like I, think you are not doing sugar but then I forgot about the sugar hidden in the cereal, crackers, bread, etc. So I'm still getting sugar. The only way to get away from sugar, totally, I am convinced, is to make all your own food from scratch and buy only sugar free processed foods. Not easy.

Anyway, I hope you feel better real soon.

FG
