emoticon ... emoticon on the weight loss.

If you can, try to add lifting light weight/strength training to your exercise routine. You can perform these exercises while sitting down. These exercises, along with your walking, will really help you to continue to shed those pounds, while strengthening your muscles/bones (walking will also help strengthen and tone your lower body and prevent bone loss). Here is a link to a total body workout that you can do while sitting down:

I hope this helps... I wish you continued success. Good luck ~ Dee emoticon

The first couple of weeks it will be that way, then it will start to taper off. Just keep it up and the weight will come off at a steady pace.

I can't believe I've already lost about 6 pounds since Saturday. Is this a fluke or will I continue to lose at this rate?

Thanks for your welcome it is much appreciated.

I wake up every day with the realization that this is it, that there's only one shot at this life and I can either enjoy the ride and live it to its fullest and to my highest potential or I can stay the way I am.

Yes, emoticon to the forum. I too am so sorry for you loss.

Hopefully with the support of this board you will be able to make the transition from Conventional Wisdom to Primal smoothly. Have you read Mark Sisson's Primal Blueprint yet, or logged on the the forum board at marks daily apple? You will find a lot of resources there too.

I just joined this board yesterday but have been primal/paleo for just over a month now. I have done everything under the sun to loose weight, always going up and down. I have found this to be the best "diet" (though it's not a diet it's a lifestyle change) around. And just like the other poster said, don't keep the bad foods in your house. It will take you about a couple of weeks to detox from sugar. So you need not to have those "triggers" at your home.

Ask me if you have any questions. emoticon

Welcome!

So sorry to hear about your loss emoticon

By the time I found Primal, I had pretty much already cut out all the bad for me stuff. It actually was just getting back to my roots, the way we were raised - before there was even a label on this way of eating - ya know before fast food, before processed crap in a box, before frankenfoods - back when we raised, hunted, caught most all our food.... so it was actually pretty easy because I knew good foods and I knew bad foods. I just don't keep the bad ones in my house anymore emoticon

Hi everyone,
This is my first day and I am very excited to be changing my way of eating.
Whole grains and potatoes have been a big part of my diet and meat not so much.

With that being said - I have packed on the pounds. My husband passed away 2 years ago this month and all I have done is eat comfort food.

I weigh more then I ever have in my life. And I am so uncomfortable in all my clothes.

My Doctor raised my blood pressure pills to 2 a day.

I am out of control and need to change. So I begin here..........

I am glad to join your group,
Pattii
