Hi. I've been a member of SparkPeople for about a month. My name is Ronda. I am a 55 year old retired/disabled teacher. I have multiple sclerosis. When I was first referred to as the "lady with MS," I cried. Now, I embrace the term. I am The Lady with MS (the Master's Strength). I enjoy writing monthly devotionals for my church. I live in Deville, Louisiana, which is in the center of the state, near Alexandria, LA. I was excited to discover this team of people who have similar interests.

Hey, everyone. I'm Mary, and I live in far east Alabama, about 8 miles from the Georgia state line. I'm a lawyer, and right now my practice is criminal defense. I mostly represent people who can't afford a lawyer, and I get appointed to represent them by the judges. There's not much money in it, but there are lots of lawyers who want to make tons of money. There aren't many lawyers who concentrate on representing the poor.

My husband and I used to raise Quarter Horses, but the horse market took a dive even before real estate did. We don't ride much anymore, so we have several lawn ornaments. I can't imagine not looking out and seeing my horses, though. I can't remember when I wasn't addicted to the smell and feel. Must be a defective gene.

I'm a published freelance author, although I don't have a ton of articles to my credit. I very much want to write Christian novels, and have two in the works right now thanks to NaNoWriMo.

I'm glad to find this group, and hope to carry on interesting and fun discussions.

Mary Ruth

Hey y'all! My name is Dawn and I live in West Alabama. I am a wife, mother, and soon to be full time college student. I have been writing for a long time, but I'm now trying to get into freelance writing to earn some extra money while I get my degree. My goal is to be an English/Creative Writing teacher and then work towards getting my work published, God willing.

I am 104 pounds overweight so that's on my list to work on as well. emoticon

Hi, my name is Tyanne Palmer. I live in Southern California, and I have been struggling with weight loss and becoming a published writer. I'm sure there are other struggles, but those are the most prominent right now.

I have a masters in English and I teach 9th and 10th grade English in a moderate sized rural high school (1800 students). I've been teaching for 10 years. Before that, I was a newspaper librarian for 3 years and before that I was an executive secretary for 5 years. I've been married to my husband, Chad for 20 years this October, and we have three sons ages 18, 15, and 13. Our oldest is off to Indiana next week to begin is college career at one of the top Christian colleges in the country.

As a writer, I finally finished my first Christian romance in 2009. After it was rejected, I discovered that I made a lot of mistakes in the writer and focused on rewrites. It amazes me how once I start writing, it really does take on a life of its own and becomes what God wants it to be! I finished a third rewrite last Spring. After trying once again to submit with Steeple Hill's Love Inspired, I decided to self-publish with WestBow Press. I am currently in final edits and hope to see it published by the end of the year. I haven't given up on traditional publishing, but I know that it will happen in God's time.

I am looking forward to moving past my weight loss struggles and hope that a support team like this could be one of the answers. I have 80 pounds to loose, and I have been trying for...oh 20 years. :) I was in Jenny Craig when my husband and I met!

That's about it. Faith and prayers to all. Let's make this journey the one that works.emoticon

My name is Diane and I live in London, England.

I have been writing as a hobby for several years now and recently decided to study a degree course in Creative Writing and English Literature; I just completed it this year and am due to graduate in the Autumn.

I have 20 -25 pounds to lose and hope to shed this within the next 6 months. I run and use my local gym 2 to 3 times each week and hope to start swimming just to mix things up a bit. My wardrobe contains so many clothes that I just cannot fit into and it's a case of lose this weight or buy a new wardrobe!

I really want to turn my hand to writing professionally, but I have never been brave enough to submit anything for publication.

Take care and good luck on your weight loss journey.

Hi! I'm Deb Kastner. I write for Harlequin's Love Inspired line, and am currently working on my 19th published novel for them. I live and work in Colorado.

I'm a wife and a mother of three grown daughters, two of whom live here at home with my two beautiful grandchildren.

For my hobbies, I enjoy reading and following the filmographies of various actors who catch my interest, my favorite ever all-time being Dale Midkiff, whom I had the lovely opportunity to meet in California last year. Wonderful man and actor!

I also enjoy live theater, both Broadway (touring) and local. My favorite Broadway actor is Terrence Mann. My oldest daughter is an aspiring actress who works at the Candlelight Dinner Theater, which is the premier Colorado dinner theater.

I have about 30 to 40 pounds to lose and was happy to find SP to help me along. Writing is not only a solitary business, but a SEDENTARY one. =)

Glad to meet you all!

I'm married to a great guy and the mother of 2 college-aged sons, who are still living at home. I work full-time and was taking classes online to become a substance-abuse counselor. All I have left for the degree is an unpaid internship. My mom became ill and had to move in with us, so I had to put that on hold for now.

I love to read and am a sometimes-writer with several stories partially written. I also do cross-stitch and have several things in progress there as well (anyone sensing a pattern?). My hope is to get my somewhat chaotic life into order and, hopefully, encourage someone else along the way. I look forward to getting to know you all better.

- Debbie

Hello all,
I'm from western NC. I have been a christian for 35 years. I am the widow of a pator/Navy Chaplain. I have three daughters and one adopted son (oldest grandson) whom I am raising by myself. He turns 10 this year.

I have always loved to write ( as well as read). I am currently working on a novel. who knows if I will ever finish it. So many distractions and not enough time. But I am determined to keep at it. Maybe one day I will get something published.

I can do all things thru Christ who strengthens me.

hi, I'm Cynthia--
I guess many areas in my life need more of my attention; more of God's hands at work. I "used to be" an artist (and sometimes still pretend that I am one) but this was just one more ability God removed from my daily life with the strange gift of disability. Due to very aggressive cases of two different arthritic diseases (psoriatic arthritis and Ankylosing Spondylitis) I am able to do very little now, other than still being able to type. And over the past year God has permitted me the blessing of being able to share my story via guest blog posts, my own blogs, and even an article solicited by the ASSIST News Service most recently.

It is great to find a group of Christian writers here in my own beloved Spark backyard. I'd lost 60 pounds last year...and thanks to immobility, steroids, and a raging appetite., I've regained most of what I'd lost. Exercise has become all but impossible for me.

It is lovely to meet you all. How many of you have attended one of the "Write His Answer" Conferences? I was so blessed to be able to go to the Greater Philly Christian Writers' Conference twice....this past August being one of them. If you saw a woman tooling around in a manual wheel chair: that was ME. lol.

God bless and draw us together under His banner.

Thanks for jumping into the role! I need to get back to using SP and especially the Fitness Tracker. When I use it, it's a great motivational tool. I thought I was in the habit of fitness, but when I stopped using the Tracker, I stopped moving for fitness on a regular basis.

Recently, I believe the Lord called me to utilize my writing talents to fight for a balanced Mathematics Curriculum in my local school district. With a friend, I created a blog and have provided most of its content: I have truly enjoyed using my writing talents in this endeavor.

Hi, I am Stephanie, and I am new to SP and to this group! When I saw that it needed a leader, I thought that I might give it a try, since I really need accountability in my use of SP (and in writing!) I hope to continue the mission of this group, fellow fingers in the Body of Christ supporting each other as we wield the pen (its mightier than the sword, remember!) for Him and His Kingdom! We need our bodies to write the stories of our souls, so we should take care of those, too! :) I struggle with all of the above, but I truly feel that I am called to write, so if you do, too, then hopefully we can truly fellowship and encourage each other here. If there is anything you want the group to do, let me know. Like I said, I sort of just jumped into this blindly and don't know exactly what I'm doing! :-D

Hello. I am Carley. I'm from Barrie, Ontario, Canada. I've been on SP since 2008. I love it! I am a new writer. I've been writing blogs for a few years. Currently I have a blog site where I write Christian devotional messages, and I'd love to know what you think about it. I have also started writing my first book. I've taken a challenge on a site called National Novel Writing Month. I am writing my own story. I have a lot of people telling me my story would be inspiration to others. I've accepted the challenge, and I am loving this work.

Hello, I am Ellen and I live in the Sun Valley, ID area. I saw this team on Grits46's spark page. I am happily married and have two children, ages 8 & 5. My DH and I are doing our best by His grace to raise them to know, love, worship and follow Jesus, our savior. I have a Bachelor's degree in English Literature and lots of writing ideas, but not yet the regular habit of writing. I tend to read, read, and read some more. As well, being a wife, mom of two young ones and homemaker, doesn't leave tons of time for writing. But the real stumbling block is not being in the habit of writing and feeling daunted by the mental work and effort required to begin/continue.

Hi all, I am Charlene. I love to write. I am the wife to a retired Air Force Sgt. and Vietnam Vet, mother of seven, grandmother of 30 and greatgrandmother of 11 soon to be 12. I live in Eagar, Arizona. I am a Christian and love Jesus and His word. Without Him, I am nothing.

I love art and do oil painting, pressed dried flower art and other crafts, like crocheting and sewing. I also write poetry and love to sing. I have been given so many talents that I shouldn't have any time to eat at all, much less overeat as I am prone to do too much. I intend to use my creative talents to overcome this excess in my life.

If you're a new member to this group, introduce yourself here and tell us a little about yourself. We don't limit ourselves strictly to Christian topics in our writing for publications but rather we are Christians who write and spread His Light through all our efforts. As Christians, we are also free to write about just about anything that strikes our fancy - including how to remodel a bathroom if you happen to be a woman.

I hope you enjoy our group. I'm hoping over time we will grow and become a close knit group of friends in the faith.

If you have any questions, post them someplace on the forum or write me. I'm undergoing chemotherapy so I may be a little slow in getting back to you but be patient. And there are always others who are willing to lend a hand, too.

Best to you and your work,
