Hi Colette. Welcome. Join us on the main thread. We all had problems with the PP program. Then we had issues with snarky people on the boards, then negative comments got poofed. This is how this team was born. You will find we all do things slightly differently, but we support each other and bounce ideas or issues off each other.
Let me introduce myself. My name is Colette and the group's name caught my attention because I don't like the present point system of Weight Watchers. I joined WW back in 1988 and loved the Quick Start Program because I learned to eat a balance diet with the exchange system. FYI I lost 60 lbs in 6 months.
Later having worked at LA Weight Loss where they too employed the system, I believe in it because it worked well for me. Now I just need to do it!

I followed the Core Plan and lost 40 pounds. I maintained the weight loss for 5 years. Recently, 20 of those pounds found me. I'm ready to go back to what worked for me in the past. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."
I totally agree. From my experience most veggies can be free ( except ones like corn and peas) but most fruits can not. If I give myself free fruits it is either an apple, pear or berries. Fruits with lots of sugar like grapes, pinapple, oranges and so on are so high in sugar they are very bad for weightloss.

Beware of zero point Fruits. The prior plans counted fruits as 1 point. I lost 30 lb on momentum then they switched to PP, with free fruits and other differences and my weight loss stopped. That program is how most of us ended up here. I think it works for some people but it didn't for me. Please join in on our main thread andkeep us up on how you are doing. This is a very supportive group regardless of what program you are following.

Honestly, I'm new to WW, so I have no idea what it used to be like. All I know is that most fruits and veggies are 0 points, they also give you a "weekly" points bank, and you can earn activity points.
