My goal weight is a continuum. I feel OK if I step on the scales & get a weight at which I have a Body Mass Index lower than 25 & higher than 18.This is the healthy range. If you want to check yours, here is the formula I like.(It's not the only way, but it's easy). Take your weight in pounds. Multiply by 703. Divide by your height in INCHES. Divide the second time by your height in inches. I read that mortality rates increase above 25, but they increase even more below 18. I'm just aiming at a happy medium! Right now, I think mine's 23.9.
If I can get back to 180, I will be VERY happy...that is the smallest I have ever been in my adult life...any smaller and I start looking REALLY "funny/weird", since my chest (the bone structure, not the "girls", UNFORTUNATELY!!!!!) is quite large for a female...
I'm dating myself here...but for all those "kids of the '50's", do you remember the Popeye cartoon where he ends up on an island with a bunch of goon-like creatures...HUGE chests and way narrow waists...and blobs of fur at their wrists and ankles? Anyway, that's what I start looking like...(without the hair blobs, of course....).
25 more pounds and I will BE THERE!!!! WOOHOO!!!!

I don't want to be super thin or anything. I'd be happy at 150 even 160.

My goal weight is 120. I have finally learned that it is going to take me a while to get down to that weight, so each pound I lose is a success. This past week, my exercise was good, but my eating wasn't great. I ate way more than I should have, probably some emotional eating, but when I stepped on the scale this morning for my weekly weigh in, I had lost 1.4 lbs this past week! I was so happy. Now, I think that if I take it day by day, I can actually reach my goal.

When I started my program, I didn't think I could lose the weight because of my age & because I wasn't getting enough exercise. I took 160 as my goal, because at 5'8" tall, this puts me in a healthy Body Mass Index range. But....I am now at 157, so that's a little below goal. So I am going where the road takes me... don't want to be extremely skinny, just as I didn't want to be fat! Just healthy!
