Hey, Taryn. I've done three halves and I've used the Hal Higdon training program each time. I'm not sure if you've checked into it or not, but it's a free program that usually spans 10 weeks, I think. I start mine a few weeks earlier so that I can build in some weeks to either rest a little more or back up on the mileage a little. If you're still looking for something, check this out: www.halhigdon.com/training/51131/Hal f- Marathon-Novice-1-Training-Program
This is my first half, so I don't know really what I'm doing :-) I plan on using this one, but I may modify it. There is a "beginner" one on that site, too, but I don't like the fact that you never run over 13 miles before the race. I may require one more rest day (which I will use for XT) than this one provides.

Hi and welcome to the team and to SP! Great job on doing the half marathon, even though it was hard and didn't go like you had planned. Hopefully you will not have any problems this time. I haven't done a half yet, but hope someday to. So I don't have a training plan for you but there are a lot of resources here on Spark and on the internet on sites such as Active.com, search for Jeff Galloway, Hal Higdon, and some others who have written books and are trusted reliable sources. I know you'll find what works for you!

Welcome to the team! Congratulations on finishing a half marathon and good luck with your training. I am sure someone here will have some advice for you on training, I have only done some 5ks myself. You could also check out the Spark running center and see what advice they have. Jacque

Hi, My name is Taryn and I am new to sparkpeople. I have already done a half marathon but I have just signed up for my second. I am a bit nervous because I injured my knee while training for the last one and literally limped across the finish line. I really hope to have this one go much smoother. Any one have a good training schedule you could send me? Thanks!
