I don't know the answer to that. If you go to my sparkpage and click on COACH JEN you can send her a private message and she will lead you in the right direction to your question.

I see you are doing the couch to 5k. I have a tredmill and it does do a number on the knees. It helps to have it on some kind of incline while you are doing it. I would love an eliptical. I have heard that is a better overall workout.Once you do get outside have you tried the C25K for Ipod? Apple has it and I used the podcast to train for my last race.Going to download another set for a 1/2 marathon.Just look under podcasts c25k. they are free so that is an added bonus too.

Jenn....that is what I'm doing right now for the same reason that the weather is nasty and slippery outside. I looked on the computer for....elliptical Vs treadmill. The elliptical seems to be the overall workout machine that is not hard on the feet and knee joints and gives you a total body workout by using the bars and petals. The treadmill is the closest to walking outside on the pavement kind of workout but tends to work more of the lower body.

I plan on doing my half marathon on the elliptical.

Hope this helps you my friend.

Hello, my name is Jenn and I live in New Hampshire. I began the Couch to 5K program yesterday. It was a success as I did not collapse in heart failure while doing it!

With the weather being as bad as it is here. Can you train using an elliptical machine as well? I do not have a gym membership for a treadmill (have to be ale to go with DH as a guest). With getting dumped on with another 6-10 inches today, the sidewalks are unusable.

Glad to be part of the team!!
