Welcome SANDYBLUVSFALL,
Like NOWYOUDIDIT I too am a type 2 diabetic. I'm off my medication for over a year now by eating low carb.

I'm committed to eating low carb forever. One thing is that after a few months of low carb eating what you like to eat changes. So it's not like I'm missing mashed potatoes, they are now repulsive to me. Those changes make eating low carb much easier.

Hi Sandy- welcome! I just posted a blog about sneaky carbs. I try to eat LC all the time and for the most part it works, I still eat too much but I'm trying to scale back. I don't concentrate on what I can't eat, only all the GREAT stuff I can eat. Instead of cutting a nice fat laden cut of NY, Ribeye or Porterhouse (when I can afford it), into 3 ounce portions, I eat the whole thing! I LOVE real bleu cheese dressing- don't like LF versions at all. You'll get the hang of it.

1. Stop wasting money- Save money

2. Exercise- do something every day

3. Get organized- mise en place

4. Write a letter by hand at least once a week.

Every day this side of the sod is a good day-
not sure who said it

My animals make me happy, some people not so much- a bumper sticker

I know what you mean Eliz. I tried WW too and found that I was eating way too many carbs. I have high blood pressure, high cholesterol, stomach problems, etc., etc. and I really think losing weight the LC way will be the answer for me. emoticon

That's exactly what I did at weight watchers in 2008. It was my first WW experience and oooh I loved those tasty high carb snacks and desserts! :o(
I lost 40 pounds then but actually felt worse. Now I've lost 19 pounds on LC and feel GREAT!
I started LC for LIFE this time because I have Type 2 diabetes.

Hello everyone, I joined SP with the idea of counting calories and of course, I ate almost all my calories in the form of carbs because they taste so good. However, for my health and life I know I need to eat low carb. So I started LC last night. I know LC works if I stick with it.

I look forward to getting to know all of you. Have a good day, Sandy
