I seem to have gotten past the carb flu- just been adding salt to everything. Also have started making bacon in the morning and then adding the fat to whatever I cook for lunch and dinner. Already have lost five pounds!

As EXOTEC wrote, some extra salt helps, but if you want you can just swallow some salt, no real reason to add it to food.

Hi,

You'll like this team- lots of good info and support. Good for you and the DH doing it together. Mine doesn't need to lose an ounce and you ought to see what he can put away! I get fat just making his food, even though he pretty much eats the same things I do, just 3 times as much and I add carbs to his meals.

1. Stop wasting money- Save money

2. Exercise- do something every day

3. Get organized- mise en place

4. Write a letter by hand at least once a week.

Every day this side of the sod is a good day-
not sure who said it

My animals make me happy, some people not so much- a bumper sticker

Hello! I've been LC for a while now and was fine till I went on vacation and blew it- I'm back in carb withdrawal and I feel for you. It'll pass. I'm going to reduce my carbs a bit more to kick start myself again.

Try some bone broth. Or, if you don't have any handy, add a little salt to your food. We metabolize salt a bit differently on LC, and sometimes a lack of it contributes to the "Atkins flu."

Otherwise, make sure you're replacing your lost carbs with good fats - bacon, animal fats, butter, coconut oil... lots of LCers add coconut oil to almost everything (eg - "bulletproof coffee").
I make eggs every morning with butter and coconut oil.

Besides that, just be sure you're getting plenty of liquids and veggies, and persevere! It will pass. So far as carb cravings, remember that eating carbs will make you crave carbs. If you cave, you're prolonging your agony! Be strong!

Welcome ~ and keep us posted!

Hello, I just started Atkins Induction on Monday! I've already lost four pounds but I feel terrible. Any tips on how to deal with the carb withdrawal?
