I was so addicted to processed/fast foods I had bad carb flu this time. I'm older also, years ago doing LC when I was younger was easier.
Then I took a break for a day or 2 and realized how dumb it was.
I still might eat some carb I wish I wouldn't but stay pretty consistent and refuse to touch wheat ever again!!

Welcome Sandy!

When first trying to get down to the 20 grams of carb level, I seem to have slight headaches for a couple of days. Magnesium supplements are good, some salt everyday will help for leg cramps or twitches.

Reading our older posts helps, which has tons of information and tips. To the right of the page, there is a links icon. Click it and you will find even more information that could help you.

I am doing Atkins myself - but I had to go back to the Induction Phase because I was sort of stalled. I will probably stay around 20 grams of carbs until I lose all the weight because I am insulin resistant and weight loss is very, very slow.

Welcome Sandy,

This group is great and has a lot of information to help you get through carb withdrawal. Can broth helped me a lot I would microwave a mug a day for the first week.

I'm new here and I just wanted to say hello to everyone. I just joined SP today and I am following my own LC plan (20-30 net per day). I feel great right now because I just started, and I'm hoping my carb withdrawals will be manageable this time (I had to stop before because I was so ill). I really want to succeed this time. LC is a big change from my normal way of eating......which has helped me gain 79 pounds. Right now my diet is almost all carbs because I'm not a fan of the taste of eggs or meat, but I will do this!!!
