woow thank you so much for the info peeps, I been cycling for few years now, I been told that I have to choose the correct carbs to perform better, my friend is on the paleo diet and he told me about it. I guess I just to look at the best choice for me.

The leader, Laura Dolson, is very knowledgable and writes really clearly. If you're not on a particular plan you can read through some highlights of the different varieties. Most people here start off with Atkins, but there are a lot of Paleo/Primal followers, a good number of South Beachers, some folks follow Dr. Bernstein's diabetic diet, and a lot of us do our own thing and gravitate towards the eating style that suits us long-term.
The best primer book for low carb is Gary Taubes' Why We Get Fat and What To Do About It. An exceptional read!
Are you particularly into athletics? You might also want to look into Phinney and Volek's book, The Art and Science of Low Carb Performance.
As for what we do? Mostly we're here for support and to give support. In case you hadn't noticed, there's a TON of misinformation out there about low carb ways of life (this is NOT a "diet" team), and there's also a TON of temptation! So we basically come here to stay sane!

Some of us are doing Atkins. It depends on which lowcarb plan you want to do.
You also can read some of the team's earlier posts to get loads of information about lowcarbing. To the left is a Links icon where you can find out more information. You can get your hands on Atkins books to guide you through your program. You can go on Youtube and watch a really good video about lowcarbing (Atkins style) - just type in Dr. Westman Duke and you should be able to find the seminar he conducted with his patients.

Hi, Johnny! Welcome! We have a few others from down in your neck of the woods. Well, at least as far down as the LA area, which I know is quite a bit farther north than San Diego. And a different culture, too. I lived in Eureka for several years, and got tired of people thinking that Sacramento and San Francisco were "northern California." You probably feel the same about people assuming that you're in the LA area!
