Hello, all! I am new to the forums, but a long-time Atkins user. The problem is, it's been intermittent over the past 3 years -- which everyone knows won't work!
My husband and I have recently renewed our commitment to this lifestyle, as well as incorporating more activity in our lives. One of the things that's been a downfall for us, in the past, has been dining out. Because that was sabotaging us, we've now come up with a rewards system where we can't dine out except for one Saturday every 2 weeks (the one that falls right after payday); in order to win the right to dine out that day, we have to have each lost at least 3 lbs. in the preceding two weeks.
I tell you, that is the best thing that ever happened for our weight loss program and low-carb lifestyle -- it is working like a charm! This is the best success we've ever had, and we're both highly motivated to get that dining out treat every two weeks... plus neither of us wants to fail, because we have to watch the other person get to eat what he/she wants, while the loser would still have to stick to the plan, lol. Neither of us has cheated at all, since we began doing things this way, and it is really making a huge difference: 20 lbs. lost for him last month (our first month doing it), and 12 lbs. lost, for me. Go, team!
