Thanks everyone! I agree 100% i know this is not a diet but a lifestyle change. I know its not about getting thin, but part of being healthy is being happy in your own skin. You must be mentally healthy as well as physical. I dont need to be stick skinny just not disgusted when I look in the mirror. By far the physical health is more important I know that.
Not directing this to the op, just people in general who struggle. You have to do low carb to get healthy, not thin. That was when I finally got long term success. I said, I was going to stay on plan, even if I gained more weight. I was finally scared for my health. I realized that sugar was sending me to an early grave. I have been on plan since then. Even in my pregnancy, when meat literally made me gag. I would have died for candy, but I knew it was unhealthy for me and the baby.
LIVINMYDREAMS is right -- you have to take this on as a lifestyle, something you're going to do forever. If you approach it as a temporary solution which you can abandon at your goal point, you're likely to end up right back where you started - or worse!
As an overly simplistic example: if you change the oil in your car but then go back to running it hot or not doing maintenance on it thereafter, you haven't accomplished much.
Low and restricted carb is a whole way of living. If you can find your compatible zone in there, it will work for you, both for weight loss and improved health! Best to you in your endeavors!
