HI Jenn, My name is Melanie and Im new to this group too...I had a sparkpage before but just recently made a new one. I am going back to low carb. I have tried weight watchers in the past...It was ok and yes I lost some weight on it but my blood work didnt change much at all. I was diagnosed with High Blood Pressure , high cholesterol, high tryglicerides, etc. Heart disease runs in my family so its most likely in my future as well. When I did low carb, I did enjoy it and never felt deprived. The thing that amazed me was that after a week or 2, my BP went down to normal range...no meds needed. I was truley amazed. The doctor wanted to put me on meds before I went low carb, I took the script but never filled it. Im only 34...I dont want all these meds!!!So I went low carb,although I fell off track with the Xmas holidays and moved recently and also got divorced from my alcoholic husband,and all these things contributed to fast food on the run. Gained back what I lost, and I am back again addicted to carbs. SO here I am. I would love to add you as a friend and anyone else who is interested. I have a very positive outlook on things this year and expect this spring to be a great one, full of activity and great food!!!

My name is Jen, and although I have been on Spark for quite awhile, I'm just now switching over to a low-carb diet. I'm not necessarily following any specific plan, but for now just keeping my carbs under 20g and cutting out all pasta, bread, rice, and sugar. There's a little more to it, but I just posted a blog about it, so I don't want to repeat myself here.
