I'm planning to do the April 2012 Dash in North Texas... have been completely consumed by marching band (daughter plays bass clarinet) the past few months, but now I can finally get back to working out and getting stronger...

I'm really looking forward to it!!

Hi! I have signed up for the Warrior Dash in Washington. I am just starting the journey towards an active lifestyle and signed up to help seal the deal. It is less than two months away and I am just getting going on training... God help me!

That might be incentive enough for him. I am going to get stuck with him if Aaron ends up on a fire. At least I will beat someone I guess.

I would really like to, maybe you should enter me and I will try to make it. Remember how I entered all four of us in that last race and no one showed? Although I don' t know if Jake would be my first choice as a teammate...I'll have to design a fishing pole of sorts that can dangle a beer in front of him.

Thanks-that makes me feel sooooo much better. The rappelling really scared me that makes it not sound so bad.

Come to the Oregon one. You can join our challenge. Jake can be your team mate. emoticon

KAT592....the rappelling in AZ was about a 5 foot drop. It wasn't anything at all. It is a bit of slop but they have wooden slats on a board to help you with your footing. If you have ever rappelled before or rock climbed...it is NOTHING like that. I am not sure about the black tunnel things because we were suppose to have that obstacle and they changed it on us and we didn't have anything with a tunnel. :) Hope that helps!!

I'm not sure if I will be running one yet, but if I do it will be the Oregon one, or the NorCal one. I need someone to run it with if I do the NorCal. Anyone else in NorCal? I can say NorCal a few more times if that will help...NorCal NorCal NorCal emoticon

Hi everyone--I am doing the WD in Oregon in September and I am a little worried about the rappelling and the dark challenges. Can anyone tell me a little more about them? How far down do you rappel? What exactly is the dark thing? Any info would be great. Thanks

Hey there!
I did the Warrior Dash in AZ on May 1st. It was FANTASTIC!!! I have "warrior" wounds but they were all worth it. Our dash was 3.4 miles but they all vary and the obstacles vary too. Someone mentioned earlier that there is a lot of start of stops so long distance running isn't so intense. It is usually more than a mile before the first obstacle though. I would HIGHLY recommend working on upper body strength!! I am 5' tall and the obstacles are definitely built for someone that is at least 5'5" so I had to stretch and reach and jump a lot more than the people I ran with...but it was still a blast!!! I have a few pictures of our team after we finished the dash if you are interested in checking them out. If any one has any questions let me know!

Hi. I'm new to SP and I'm glad I found this team. I'm doing the Warrior Dash in TN in September. That gives me alot of time to train, but I need the extra time to get into shape. I'm excited and a bit nervous about the WD.

I'm doing the dash in PA this June.
I wanted to start doing 5 and 10ks to get ready for a triathlon next year (thats my goal, I haven't committed to a race yet).

Frankly, running is boring to me and the warrior dash looked right up my alley, so I'm using at a motivator to get my ass in gear.

Does anyone know how I can convince some of my friends to go? I had a few people interested, but they saw the barbed wire crawl and decided they'd rather do the Spartan Sprint, which isn't until September.

I'm also a first time dasher! I'm soo excited - I really wanted to put some motivation behind my weight loss/fitness/nutrition by having something to work towards like the dash. My boyfriend and I will be competing in the New England dash and we're so excited...

All your life you are told the things you cannot do. All your life they will say you're not good enough or strong enough or talented enough; they will say you're the wrong height or weight or the wrong type to play this or achieve this. They will tell you no, a thousand times, no, until all the no's become meaningless. All your life they will tell you no, quite firmly and very quickly. AND YOU WILL TELL THEM YES!

@Maria4988 - I'm seriously just running as many hills as I can, and then taking over the local playground to rock some monkeybars! I also got Jillian Michaels' new dvd "Ripped in 30" and plan to alternate that, maybe hit the rock climbing gym too!

haha hey there fellow Warrior Dash Veteran!

As far as what to wear- i would recommend being creative!! It is such a fun event, why not make the most of it? Just beware, you will get extremely dirty, and the clothes may be ruined completely (some of mine were). You really can wear anything you want. I wore knee high socks, running shorts, pigtails, face paint.

Anything goes really, i saw men wearing wedding gowns, thongs, bananas, girls dressed as grandma's. But i will as far as event pictures go, you will have an easier time finding yourself in the pictures if you are wearing bright colors, or a costume that stands out. The reason being, once you get muddy, everyone looks the same! lol

I am so happy i found this team. I actually participated in the first Warrior Dash of 2011 in Lake Wales, Fl. Such a great time, i was just going through my pictures this morning. I can't wait to do it again!

I am actually planning on going to Charlotte in August to run the Warrior Dash up there with some local friends.

To all of you having doubts about doing it, DON'T! It isn't as bad as it seems, it is more fun than anything else!
