Hello, I was diagnosed with diabetes in November and that was my wake up call to get serious about releasing the excess pounds. Since November I have let go of 47 pounds. I have 70 more to say good bye to. I'm in the gym 5-6 days a week and loving every minute of it. A friend just introduced me to Spark People. I love this site and am looking forward to giving and receiving support. I'm on a roll and I want to get to the finish line (not just close to it), one day at a time. I am still learning the nuances of this site so be patient.

I plan to stay under 1400 calories a day and under 100 grams carb a day. I feel certain I can lose this way as long as I follow thru.

Vicki, I exercise 3 times a week at Curves and at home with my Wii this winter. It did help me feel more energetic and increased my stamina. I had to count calories in order to lose any weight though.

Hi, I'm Vicki and I'm a size where it's hard for me to do things I need or want to do. So I've joined a fitness center with my hubby and we go 3 days a week. I'm hoping to regain lost energy and get to the point where I don't cringe when I look in the mirror. I doubt I'll ever be really thin again but if I could lose enough to get off the blood pressure pills, I'd be very happy. Look forward to chatting with you all.
