Good Morning! Hello all I'm new here to this group. However I'm not new to this process. I've fallen off the wagon and apparently I realized at my last doctor's appointment that I have gained more weight and am heavier than I've EVER been. I'm slightly depressed about it, but I know that there is only one thing that I can do about it, and that is keep looking forward and ahead. I have to see myself healthier, and sexy. My doctor told me that there are some things because of my family history (diabetes and high blood pressure) that are inevitable. The only thing that is smart for me to do is delay the inevitable. My mom was diagnosed at 47 my father was diagnosed at 62...15 years delay. My mom was the one who ate right, my dad is the one who exercised. I figure my odds are good if I eat right and exercise I wont see a diagnosis until about 80! (sorry so long!)

I've done my first workout of the day. I plan to take a walk after lunch and maybe again after dinner. Have a great day!

I am currently a stay at home mother to my two wonderful children. I have a goal of 70 lbs to lose. I have already lost 20 lbs since March of this year just simply using the products that I sell from home, but since I moved in with my kids father I have found that his diet of pizza and hot wings is starting to stall my weight loss. I am hoping this group along with others will help me get back on track. :)

Hi! My name's Lauren and I'm new to the team as of today.
As for my goals, I just want to become healthier all around. I feel like I'm really out of shape for what any 26 year old should be. I plan to lose roughly 50 pounds overall, slowly but surely so that I can keep it off. I'd like to try to do it about 2 pounds per week - hopefully a little more at first since you usually see results quickly in the beginning.
I think that getting active again will make a huge difference. My favorite type of exercise is group fitness. I have a membership at the local YMCA and really enjoy muscle pump, zumba, and body combat classes. I'd like to try to get into spinning classes and attempt some swimming. The olympics are having a huge effect on my motivation!
If you're losing weight, what are your monthly weight loss goals?
I don't follow a particular diet - I'm way too picky of an eater :) I am trying to stay in my calorie range given by SP though. This team was suggested to my by Spark People when I reset all of my goals to try to "start over" on everything since I'd really fallen off track for the last several months and I'm really excited to be a part of it.

My name is Tasha. I am 39 years old married with 3 nearly grown children. I weight 359.8 lbs. I want to lose 100 lbs within the next year. I am tired of being the way that I am. My highest weight was 390 lbs. I have been married for the past 2 1/2 years and i want to be adventurous with my husband and do things like go riding on go carts and be able to fly and only have to pay for 1 seat. Hi...my name is Debi and I rejoined SP in January but did very well several years ago with being accountable and writing in the journal every day. Well I went on vacation last summer and slacked off and now, a year later I am 25 lbs heavier. I decided to get serious again...I love the way I feel and SP is the best to keep track and to be accontable to myself. So I am back and my 12 month goal is to journal daily, track my food and go to the gym 4 times a week. I know I can do it because I did it...I previously lost a total of 60 lbs and I am ready to get the 25 plus back off

Hi I am new to this team. Have been on spark People for a little while and like active teams. your team seems active and I would like to be part of it.
I have about 50 lbs to lose, I want to be a size 9. i started out as a size 20 and have been working on it since last september. I just this week got it all together and am now living a healthy life style.
My hubby and I are both working to improve are lives. We are retried and have all the time in the world to get fit. I wish I had started at an earlier age, but am getting with it now.
I have lost 6 lbs since June so that makes a total of 19 lost since joining Spark People

What are your goals?
I was successful at dropping 30 lbs on Spark in 2008 but have recently gained some back, so would like to get back on track and back down within my goal range.

Are you planning to lose weight this year or maintain?
I am a Turtle -- because I'm at that time of life when the weight comes off very slowly and also because I know it's the best way for me to make lifestyle changes that will keep the weight off. That being said -- I would like to drop 7 or 8 pounds by the end of 2011 which would get me back into my too-tight pants!

If you're losing weight, what are your monthly weight loss goals?

Do you follow a particular diet?
My diet is pretty healthy, lots of fruits and veggies, whole grains, yogurt, unsalted nuts, chicken, fish, eggs, tofu. But I do enjoy treats of ice cream and chocolate -- my sweet tooth and the fact that I just like to eat a lot are my big challenges.

What is your favorite type of exercise?
I enjoy walking and because I don't have a car I do quite a bit on a daily basis. I also do a weekly yoga class, play Pickleball once or twice a week, and attend at least one fitness class per week -- just started Zumba and it's fun.

How did you hear about this team?
Must have seen it on someone's page and was intrigued by the 12 Weeks to Christmas challenge -- any chance there will be one this year? I would love to join it.

Anything else you want to share!
I'm a mom and grandma, love animals (have two pet cats) and nature, and just started to do dabble at painting with acrylics (tentatively).

What are your goals?
To lose a bunch of weight but more importantly to get in better health.

Are you planning to lose weight this year or maintain?
I really wanna lose 30 lbs this year but I'll lose till I feel that it's comfortable for me.

If you're losing weight, what are your monthly weight loss goals?
Hoping to lose bout.. a pound to two pounds a week. Just nice and slow and going to try hard to worry so much bout the # and instead on how I feel.

Do you follow a particular diet?
Right now just counting the calories. Fad diets haven't worked well for me and I've tried diet pills and those you lose it fast but gain it back as fast when you go off em.

What is your favorite type of exercise?
Kind of like the Walk away the pounds videos at the moment because of being.. overweight.. makes it a bit easyier on my knees and feet. But hope to get into some Zumba or yoga again.

How did you hear about this team?
Just was scrollin thru the teams and found this one.

Hi just found this team poking about on the site. I have been sparkin for a while. Love the site and just now beginning to connect interact with membrs and learn how it works.

What are your goals? A healthy lifestyle and more energy and I'm gonna like the way I look more than I do already.

Are you planning to lose weight this year or maintain? Lose 24 in 12 months, then pick next goal.

If you're losing weight, what are your monthly weight loss goals? 2 lbs... I'm a slow poke.

Do you follow a particular diet? I am trying to limit sugar, use portion control, eat more fresh foods.

What is your favorite type of exercise? I go to Curves 6 x a week,, do zumba 2 x week, walk 10 mi weekly,, and join challenge teams and do the video workouts. And with all this I cant seem to lose any faster. Oh Well. As long as I'm losing its going in the right direction.

So, I realized that I have been part of this team since it started (or even before if you count the 12 Weeks to Christmas Challenge) and I have never posted an introduction! haha
Anyway, I'm 26 year old Midwest girl. I am married, but no kids. I have been on sparkpeople for sometime... actually I was on for awhile and closed my account then rejoined. I love the support of sparkpeople, so feel free to visit my page and add me as a friend!

What are your goals? I would like to become healthier, but more specifically I'd like to weigh in the 130 pound range.

Are you planning to lose weight this year or maintain? lose lose lose!

If you're losing weight, what are your monthly weight loss goals? I'm not sure, I have trouble actually dropping the weight, I tend to tone up first. Yea muscle! Boo no scale change.

Do you follow a particular diet? I watch my calories and go no sugar (but that's due to hypoglycemia more than choice)

What is your favorite type of exercise? I love cardio (aerobic/circuit training) I'm working on learning to like running though

How did you hear about this team? I was part of the wonderful 12 Weeks team, and found everyone to be great so here I am!!

Hi all-

Been on SP for about 2 months now. The first month I did great and everything felt easy. The last month's been full of ups and downs. I realized today that I was more serious about it and more committed in the first month.

Hi, my name is Candy and I have been with Spark just over a year. I lost weight at the beginning but than vacations came, stress came along, and just plan being busy and I put back on the weight.
I am a grandma that that is the best thing there is. I have 2 children and both are out of the house. My daughter is a member of Spark and we help each other along.
I work outside of my house, I started a Special Olympic team for the company I work for we are working on our 7th year.
I joined this group because I was reading someones blog and at times I go and visit their spark page and see what teams they are on and if they might look good I visit them. I really like the weekly challenge with the exercise. I do better on exercise challenges than the food ones.
I like doing exercises on the Wii, I have different games so I can switch it up I can get bored or unmotivated as I really only have time in the early mornings to exercise.

I was searching for another team to become active in and this one seems like a perfect fit. I am trying to change from the inside out and to become more active and try new things in the process.

What are my goals? My goals are to lose 55 pounds, 17 of which I have already lost. I want to develop a healthy relationship with food. I want to try new things and become more active.

If you're losing weight, what are your monthly weight loss goals? I have been averaging a half pound weight loss a week. It has been steady but it is so slow. I would like to set a realistic goal so I don't feel like I have failed so I would like to set my goal to increase that by a little bit to 3 pounds a month.

Do you follow a diet? I track calories using sparkpeople. I have an app on my phone so I am able to constantly have access to my food and exercise tracker and the message boards.

What is your favorite type of exercise? I have recently taken up horse back riding and I am loving it. Great exercise, keeps me busy and active, good social outlet for me. I also do zumba two nights a week. It kicks my butt! I was strength training and need to get back into it.

How did you hear about us? I was reading someones spark page and came across it,

Anything else you want to share? I am 41, married, 2 teenage kids, a bichon.

What are your goals? My goal for 2011 is to lose 100 pounds! Get healthier and become a runner!

To gain 1 healthy habit per month and lose maybe 5 ibs a month and drink only water.

I follow the spark diet I use the spark food tracker everyday on my phone. I stay in range for the cals suggested I don't go over.

Walking especially hiking, maybe one day running

What are your goals? to lose weight for health reasons and live a more active lifestyle.

If you're losing weight, what are your monthly weight loss goals? I really don't have a number in mind for the month. I would like to lose at least 50 pounds by next Christmas. My name is Jenete but most people call me Jen.I answer to both - smile.

What are your goals?- My goals are to be healthy and fit with a reasonable healthy looking body.

Are you planning to lose weight this year or maintain? I'm planning to lose 100 pounds and get down to 150 pounds but this number is subject to change depending on how I look and feel as I move towards this goal.

If you're losing weight, what are your monthly weight loss goals? I would love it if I lose 2 pounds per week but my focus is more on losing body fat percentage.

Do you follow a particular diet? No, I stay within the recommended calorie range and use the SP tracker to log my intake. I do however try to break my calories intake in the ratio 45% carb, 30% pro and 25% fat.

What is your favorite type of exercise? Outdoor walking and doing the elliptical.

How did you hear about this team? I saw it on someone's page

Anything else you want to share! I'm 55 - will be 56 in April, live in NJ, have 3 adult children and 7 grand children and has been married for 38 years come August.

Hi everyone! I am new to the team, so I wanted to stop in and tell you a little about myself.

What are your goals?
-My goals are to lose 100lbs (230 to 130) in a healthy manner (no quick weight loss scams for me), drink 8 cups of water per day, and get in some exercise (at least 30 minutes, 4 times a week).

Are you planning to lose weight this year or maintain?
-I am planning to lose weight.

If you're losing weight, what are your monthly weight loss goals?
-Monthly, I would like to lose 8lbs.


Do you follow a particular diet?
-I am pretty short on money, so I do have to be a little selective when it comes to food, so I don't have the luxury of a particular diet. Instead, I will be watching calories, staying within my range, and averaging out with the exercise.

What is your favorite type of exercise?
-Wii Fit exercises, specifically Walk It Out and EA Sports Active.

How did you hear about this team?
-I got a message from GRANPATTIE, suggesting the team to me.

Welcome CHUB33! I know what you mean about the dreaded swimsuit. My daughter is the Aquatics Director at a pool, so sometimes I go there early in the day... but I'm very self-conscious. So walking and cycling and indoor elliptical are my exercises of choice right now!

Hello! I joined this team when I saw DuffyDyer's blog stating that she had lost over 4 pounds the 1st week! I'm inspired!

My goals are outlined in my New Year's Resolutions Blog entry. I want to lose all my weight before the year is up. My aim is for about 8 pounds per month, at least for the first few months. This week, I lost 2 pounds, so I am on track so far.

I don't follow a particular diet, just do what I can with what I've got. Again, you can look at my blog to get a better idea of my plan for attaining the weight loss.

My favorite type of exercise is swimming, but I am to embarrassed to go to our small town's only pool and let all the people of the town see me in a swimsuit. Instead, I go with my 2nd favorite exercise, walking, or my 3rd favorite, biking.

If you're losing weight, what are your monthly weight loss goals? I'd like to lose 4 - 6 lbs a month but based on my track record, 3 lbs will do.

Do you follow a particular diet?
1200 calories / 32 grams of fat, exercise at least 5x week

What is your favorite type of exercise? Water aerobics

I will be turning 40 in February and started the weight loss journey in June, 2010. I wanted to lose a little over 40 lbs by my 40th b-day but I know I won't be able to achieve that goal...so I'm settling for just being much healthier by my 40th and hopefully by mid-year I'll reach my goal of 135.

What are your goals?
I want to get to a healthy weight that will allow me to stop taking meds for diabetes. I want to be healthy enough to walk and eventually run a 5K with a decent time.

Definitely lose weight.

Hey Team! My name is Sheri and I have some huge golas for 2011...the initial ? is hard to answer. Normally, I would be maintaining my weight, but I have decided to compete in my first figure body building competition later this year (probably August or October)... so, with that goal in mind, I am currently lifting heavy to build muscle and eating a little heavier, but watching the weight. When I am about 16 weeks out from competition, I will begin serious weight reduction but I don't have a target yet (would assume about 15-20 lbs)... so, for now, I have signed up for the losing weight option. I currently don't have a monthly goal yet until the time we get closer to competition. I will be using a cutting diet/clean diet that is very high in protein, no salt, minimal carbs.

I do alot of weight lifting and then tack on jogging for cardio.

I was so glad to stumble on this team through a fellow team mate on another Team Forum. I know that alot of folks on the site are trying to just get started, but I am in a very different place. I don't miss my workouts (5am), i eat healthy, don't smoke, drink my water, etc... so I don't need challenges to just log 10 mins. of workouts daily. So the challenges that Duffy put out there are alot more challenging and just what I needed.

Looking forward to meeting everyone on the team, sharing thoughts and encouragement. Good luck to all.

Hey, my name is Jen and I'm joining this group because I'm sick and tired of feeling sick and tired.
I want to develop healthy habits and become more active.
My weight related goal is to lose 25 lbs and then maintain that weight.
I'm hesitant to decide on a monthly goal at this point because I know if I start to fall behind I will get discouraged.
My mantra is "baby steps." Rather than starting off in full tilt I am easing my way into this so I don't end up burnt out after 2 weeks and quit.
I plan on following the diet and exercise plans on this site however if I have an off day I won't beat myself up over it. I will just start fresh the next day.
My exercise of choice will be walking, hiking and diving. I will also be working on weight training geared towards diving so I don't feel like I've been hit by a bus the morning after every dive.

Hello everyone, my name is Lynn, I'm 46 and live in Va. I have one son--11years old with four legs and furry. He speaks " meow". My long term goal is to lose approximately 130 lbs however I'm a SLOW loser so I'd be tickled pink with one pound per week. I plan to get back to eating clean and local as much as possible and stay between 1200-1500 cals per day. When I find an exercise that I actually like I'll let you know. Hi All,

Hi everyone! I'm Courtney, 25, and live in the western suburbs of Chicago. I'm engaged to be married 10/1/11 and want this to be the year where I STAY committed. I was doing so well these past few months until the holidays reared their ugly heads emoticon

*What are your goals? To get down to a comfortable size 6 or 4 and not become obsessed with the scale as I catch myself doing. It is all about feeling good!

*Are you planning to lose weight this year or maintain? Lose about 20! I'm about 145 and 5'4" so we will see what a good weight will end up being.

*If you're losing weight, what are your monthly weight loss goals? I'm going to try not to weigh myself! It is too disheartening to me.

*Do you follow a particular diet? I've done Atkins and while it got some weight off, it wasn't a good lifestyle. Just eating fresh produce, whole grain products, and watching my calorie intake.

*What is your favorite type of exercise? At my old gym I loved cardio kickboxing and pilates, but it isn't offered at my (much cheaper) gym. I also loved Bikram yoga but can't afford the $125/month fee. But I usually stick to 45 minutes cardio/30 minutes weights and alternate days for upper and lower body.

*How did you hear about this team? Did a search for 2011!

Hi, my name is Linda and I'm 47 years old. I live in California with my husband and two teenage boys.

Do you follow a particular diet? Not really. I have using the tracker on SP which really helps. Lately, I have been reading up more on healthy/clean eating. I just want to feel healthier, so I might include a lot of those ideas/tips.

What is your favorite type of exercise? Right now, it has all been about exercise DVDs. I have been doing the Firm and recently added Cathe Friedrich step DVDs. Both include weights which I like.

Hi, I am Val from California. I am 26 and a teacher. The one weight loss benefit to that job is I get to walk around quite a bit during the day.

My goal in 2011 is to lose weight and more specifically reach my goal weight of about 140. I am not sure I will get there in just one year, but I am still working towards that goal.

I am working on eating more fruit and vegetables and less junk.

I am also working on walking/running more. That is my main source of activity and I really have started to love it.

I'm Julie, new to the team but not to SP. I would like to lose 65 pounds this year, which would put my weight at 150. I need to eat healthier, drink my water and move more. My monthly goal is to lose 6 pounds per month on average. I have followed South Beach and low fat. If I plateau I'll switch up my diet. Hey guys!!! I'm Kate...I'm 26 from Pennsylvania. I work at an engineering firm (desk work is soooo not conducive to weight loss haha) I do like to keep active outside of work though through the gym, attempting to jog and softball.

This year I would love to finally get to my goal weight and stop this yo-yo effect I seem to be stuck in. I have my goal weight set at 140...I ultimately just want to be happy with myself so this number may or may not change as I get closer to it.

Hi everyone! My name is Judy. I'm 51 and have three grown children. Now that I finally have some time for myself, I plan on focusing on my health and fitness. My goal is to lose 60 pounds. I would like to lose 4-5 pounds a week and get much much stronger. I usually do pretty good sticking to healthy habits until I get side tracked by other things in my life. Then I don't pay attention to what I eat or stop caring about it long enough to put on a few pounds (or a lot). But no more! From now on getting healthy is going to be my top priority. I am going to be more consistent and I like all of you to help keep me accountable. Thanks!

Hi all....my name is Nancy, I'm 46 and living in the brisk and wintry Iowa! My large goal is to lose 95 pounds but have decided it may be easier to achieve if I set mini-goals along the way. My mini-goals will be to lose 5 to 7 pounds per month. I've heard slow and steady wins the race....we'll see. :) I have just started this journey even though I've been on Sparkpeople for quite a while. I really don't have a reason for waiting to begin my journey and I don't want to wait anymore. I don't even want to wait until after the holidays - I need to begin now! I quit smoking 5 years ago and I thought that was the hardest thing I'd ever have to do. I know if I quit smoking I can surely lose weight and become fit. Notice I said I want to get fit - not skinny. I believe there is a huge difference in those terms.

My favorite exercise would be a stationary bike and I have been following a low calorie diet incorporating Sparkpeople, Weight Watchers and various other info. Of course logging all this on Sparkpeople has been a huge help for me.

I am excited about my journey and look forward to making a few Spark Friends! :)

Hi Sparklers, I am a 53 year old mother of four grown children, grandmother of six. I have been a SparkPeople loiterer for several years but just got really active in September. I currently weigh just at 200 pounds down from a high three years ago of about 230. I have been overweight since elementary school. The lowest weight I have been in adulthood is about 175 so I am pushing for that for my initial goal. I don't like to set particular pounds per month goals because how my body reacts to the calories I consume and burn is out of my control. What is within my control is what I choose to eat and how much I move so I base my goals on those things. I despised exercise as I was growing up but I have learned to like walking and to tolerate strength training. My greatest purchase was a high dollar treadmill that is in my tv room glaring at me if I try to ignore it. I am happily married for 30+ years but my career keeps my husband and I separated Monday thru Friday. I think that actually makes it easier for me to maintain my nutrition and fitness goals because work is my only distraction during the week. I am excited about this team because I think it will motivate me to keep up the healthy habits I have been adhering to during the TWCC.

Hi, teammates. I'm Ninja - 46, married, 4 kids, 4 cats. I've lost 70 pounds since joining SparkPeople in March.

My goal is to be as healthy as I can be, which includes maintaining a healthy weight, eating nutritiously, and moving regularly.

I have 3 pounds to go to get to my initial goal weight. After that, I will re-evaluate and decide if that is really where I want to be or if I want to lose 5 or 10 more pounds in 2011. My goal for the rest of 2010 is to not gain. For 2011, I'd like to lose very slowly so I can ease into a maintenance lifestyle.

I try to stay within the Spark-recommended calorie range while focusing on eating healthy foods - vegetables, fruits, and whole grains.

I exercise out of necessity. I generally do a variety of cardio on the elliptical while reading. I love ice skating and hiking. I try to move as much as possible and incorporate that into my lifestyle, which directly conflicts with my efficiency tendencies, but I'm a work in progress.

I heard about this team through my friend feed. I think it will keep my motivation going through 2011 and help me develop and maintain healthy habits to keep forever.

Hi! I am 25, married 2 years, no children (except my dog and 3 birds, which are children enough for now!). I am sick of being unhappy with myself, both in weight and attitude. Its time for both of these things to change! I want to be more like the girl my husband met 7 years ago... carefree, silly, and HAPPY!

What are your goals?
I remember back in high school I was about 160 lbs.. seems like forever ago! Now I'm 250, though no one believes me when I tell them that weight. I'd like to lose 100 lbs, getting down to a much healthier weight of 150.

Are you planning to lose weight this year or maintain?
Definitely lose weight.

If you're losing weight, what are your monthly weight loss goals?
I want to lose 4 lbs a month.

Not really, though I am trying to stay in my ranges, drink more water, and eat more fruits/veggies and less junk!

I personally LOVE the elliptical. Unfortunately, I had to sell mine, so I'll mostly be doing workout DVDs.

Hello from VA!

My goals for this challenge are
--to lose at least 1 pound for every week of the year for a total of 52 pounds lost by 12/31/2011 (slower than I'd like, but if I had done it last year, I'd be halfway to goal right now)
--to log into Sparkpeople EVERY DAY. I tend to overcommit to outside projects and fall off the Spark radar because I am away from the computer for days at a time.
--work towards my 40X40 goals. So many have to do with a healthy lifestyle, and will make the other goals (like taking a dance class) so much easier!
--Since the unveiling of the new WW PointsPlus program seems to be so close to what my desired eating plan is, I'm going to try that. I do much better when I am more accountable to a set number, not a range.
--I love the elliptical for cardio, as well as the Wii Fit for both cardio and flexibility (yoga!) but i find that i mostly look forward to weight lifting, probably because it is the one where I don't feel that I am horribly out of shape and sweating like crazy.

Duffy is a great inspiration and a wonderful team leader. She is also super-organized! Thank you for creating this challenge, and I WILL log in tomorrow!

What are your goals?- to develop consistent, healthy habits that I can maintain for life; to achieve the maximum physical fitness and stamina for this 64 year old body!

Are you planning to lose weight this year or maintain? I would like to lose about 30# which would get me to a normal BMI at 144#. I also want to lose inches off my waist and midriff & will monitor measurements as well.

If you're losing weight, what are your monthly weight loss goals? I will be satisfied with 1 lb./week.

Do you follow a particular diet? Not recently, but my plan is to eat mindfully, log food and stay within the SP program of 1200 - 1500 cal, lower fat and limited salt and sweets. Drink 6 C. water/day.

What is your favorite type of exercise? Walking, have a treadmill. I have not exercised recently so I will have to start low and go slow. Don't like strength training, but have a new Total Gym and will do something on it 3X/week.

How did you hear about this team? E-mail from Cheryl.

Anything else you want to share! My greatest downfall is inconsistency. I have good intentions, then backslide to old habits so easily. I joined this team because it is a 12 month challenge.

My Plan:

Weigh in ONLY on the FIRST of each month so I don't depend on the flucuations of the scale.
Aim for 5000 steps/day in January and increase each week.
Aim for 1 mile/day on treadmill and increase each week.
Log all food regardless of what I eat!
Eat 3 F/V daily and increase monthly.

I am looking forward to this team and to achieving my goals in 2011!! emoticon

My name is Chuck and live in Northwest Oregon. I joined SparkPeople on 01/01/10 at 277 lbs. After 11 months I am down to 214 lbs. or 63 lbs gone. It has been a rough road with many hurdles but I manage to get over them. However I have been on a 3 month plateau that I cannot seem to shake...but I will.

My goals: I plan to lose weight and hope to hit a maintenance plan mid year of 2011. I plan to get down to my goal weight of 180 lbs by May 1, 2011.

My monthly goal is to lose 6-8 lbs./month.

My diet is made up on my own with the nutritional guidelines set down by SparkPeople recommendations and from books I have read. My plan has been seen and approved by my doctor. I log in all my food and fitness everyday without fail. It keeps me accountable.
If you would have ask me 11 months ago, "What is your favorite exercise?", I certainly would not have been cardio. Especially running!! I did my 1st 5K last August and plan to do 2 or 3 next year.
How did I hear about this team? DuffyDyer is my SparkFriend from another Team challenge. She is a great inspiration so when I got the invitation there was no doubt I would join. I need the challenge to be motivated.
Anything else you want to share! I am past my 60's+++ and finding more energy than I have had since I was in my 30's. I just wish I had my 30's body and stamina. I used to race dirt bikes in the desert almost every weekend in the Mojave desert.

My name is Cheryl, pretty sure I'm 42, stopped counting after 40. Was diagnosed with a vascular condition after having 2 strokes about 10 years ago. My left side was badly affected. My balance is still sketchy, can't run or ride a bike. My BFF is my treadmill because I can do that really well without fear of falling and I can read and do my computer stuff while on it! I'm aiming on losing 1 to 2 pounds a week. I'm logging food and following Sparks nutrition guidelines. I don't like to do challenges, I think because I get discouraged if I don't meet them. I'd rather say "I'll give it a shot". I am going to try really hard to do this teams goal of 5 miles a day!

I'm planning to lose 50 to 60 lbs. this year.

I'm hoping for 2 lbs a week but I haven't been able to attain that goal yet so I'm shooting for 5. If I can get 5lbs. then I will reach goal in Dec.

I have recently been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes so I'm still trying to figure out how to put my meals together. I'm hoping when I figure this out, the lbs. will start to drop a little easier than before.

Walking- I would like to be able to build up to jogging, then running...we'll just go for walking right now!lol I also like doing Turbo Jam!

My name is Joanne and I am 54 years old. I am reired but just barely and am now taking the time to get healthy. I have lost 40 pounds so far. I am comfortab;e where I am now, but would like to lose another 7 pounds before I consider myself at goal.

So this team will hopefully help me get to goal and then figure out how to maintain that weight.

I am good with the exercise part of the program, but still have trouble eating proper;y. Though I don't binge. I eat the wrong suff still. I need to hold myself more accountable.

I’m 46 yrs. old and have been married 26 1/2 years to my high school sweetheart. We have two grown children who I just adore, and my baby cat Miechi who is so much fun to have around.

My goal for this year is to finally lose the weight that I have been holding onto for way to long. My hubby and I are planning a trip to St. Croix in April, so that is a big motivator to shed some pounds. Also, my 23 yr. old son is leaving on Jan. 9th for the Army and basic training. I would love to go to his graduation 40 lbs. lighter.

I work full time as a receptionist and I am also an elected trustee. I lead a very busy life with work, family, friends and Sparking but I need to start moving more and taking time for ME!!

I like following the Spark diets and I love to walk. My goal is to walk 1111 miles in 2011, but I might just bump up the mileage!

I joined the 12 weeks of Christmas team, but I plan to be more active on this challenge than I have been.

Hello, my name is Lise (pronounced Lees)and I am an active 62 y.o. grand-mother of 4 (2 boys & 2 girls). Our daughters both live in Canada with their respective children. A couple of years ago, I weighed 183.7 lbs for a 5'1.5" frame, therefore I was obese. To date I have lost over 30 lbs and feel great again. I intend to get down to a minimum of 120 lbs and depending on how I feel and how I look, I may stay just there or go down to 110 lbs. My monthly goal is to lose 4 lbs a month and should this weight loss continue as it has been going I will reach my goal around August 2011 after which I will maintain.

Since I am Hypothyroid, I have followed a way of eating called Chrono-nutrition by Dr. Delabos. I have been very successful on this regime and it agrees with me. My favorite type of exercise is walking. Then comes Tai Chi, Tae Bo, Turbo Jam, Strength training on our gym equipment, Zumba, Dancing, etc. I vary my exercises regularly.

I heard of Spark People through my sister who challenged me to a Bootcamp which was being held in May 2009. I did the bootcamp and by the end of May I had lost nearly 8 lbs! This truly encouraged me to continue with my workouts because I felt so much better.

I can no longer do without jotting down my food intake, nor keeping track of my exercises. It has become a habit. However, for me, it's always good to have another challenge so here I am! emoticon to all.

Hi, I'm Lucinda. I saw this team on a Slow Fat runner's blog. I have been a member of Spark since Sept. 2009. I have lost 68 pounds. I started my weight loss with the weight watchers program, but now I am maintaining my loss with healthy habits. These healthy habits include running each day and strength training 3 days a week. I also try to get 5 fruits and veggies a day as well as 8 glasses of water. I only drink water. No soda or juice and treats are just that(once in awhile.)
I am 41. I live in New York, and I have two kids (11 & 15). I am married to a great guy. I work part time as a substitute, but work has been slim this year due to buget cuts.
I did not do the 12 weeks till christmas challenge, but I am hoping I can join this team. A lot of the teams I originally joined have calmed down with their challenges. I really could use some fresh challenges to keep me motivated. I'd still like to lose 2 pounds, but I'm not unhappy where I am now. I just don't ever want the weight to come back. I love spark and the great people I've "met" here.

Hello Healthy Habit Team!

I'm Cheryl (aka Duffydyer), your leader!

What are your goals?- My goals are to get back to the healthy body that I had at 50, but foolishly lost and then stay there!

Are you planning to lose weight this year or maintain? I'm planning to lose another 50-60 pounds and get down to 125-130 pounds and then maintain.

If you're losing weight, what are your monthly weight loss goals? I find that 2 pounds a week is really more than I can do.... so realistically I'm looking for 6 pounds a month.

Do you follow a particular diet? I track my food on SP and stay between 1200 and 1500 calories a day.

What is your favorite type of exercise? Walking- need to build up to running again and the elliptical.

How did you hear about this team? Silly question!

Anything else you want to share! I'm 54, live in NJ, have a fabulous 24 year old daughter, a great husband, and an awesome career.

Hi sparksisters! I am ready to get and stay at my goal wt in 2011!
I am 49 yrs old a gma of 4, mom of 3 grown girls, I love playing tennis! Compete at a league player all over San Diego, CA area.
I started Sparks Sept 21st 2010, at 160 pds. I am a shortie, 5'1 but packed with gusto! My goal is to be 135 pds. Today I am 144! I plan to reach my goal by my 50th birthday March 20th, 2011! than work w/sparks to keep the wt off and keep all the good habits I hve learned.

I have 10 daily rules I go by;
1. stay w/i cals. (1000-1500)
2. ex at least 30 min a day 6X aweek!
3. Only F&V's after 8pm
4. At least one fruit and vegi a day!
5. Post daily on teams
6. Blogs, read one, respond to one, write one wkly!
7. Log in cals, ex min!
8. w/i once a week!
9. Do all team commitments (my mod version)
10.do my JEMS daily "Journal, exercise, meals, success's" personal journal!

I am about 90% on doing these all correctly everyday! woohoo!
