Cycle 1: Down 7 lbs. Cycle 2: Nada pound lost! UGH! Cycle 3: Down 5 lbs. Total Lost: 12 lbs.
Cycle 2 was extremely discouraging to say the least. I started using the MyFitnessPal app on my phone to track calories to see if I was somehow fouling things up. I wasn't consuming enough calories! I started exercising and treated Cycle 3 more like a Weight Watchers plan and I stuck to those 1200 calories/day (strayed from the food list a little) and the scale started moving again. Woohoo!
Ready for Round 2!!!

Round 1
Cycle 1 - Lost 8 lbs. Cycle 2 - Lost 6 lbs. Cycle 3 - Lost 2 lbs.
Total: Lost 16 lbs.
And, that's with no exercise as I sprained my foot on day 3 of the diet, and it's still not strong enough to do the treadmill. Cycle 3 was a battle....up, down, up, down. I'm better off sticking to the the more structured cycles--the only reason I lost on C3 was because the last two days I stayed closer to C1/C2 foods than C3. I'm starting C1 a day early, the C3 madness has to stop now! LOL! Overall, though, I'm very happy with the results and am fitting into clothes I haven't been able to wear in a long time! :) It works!

Finished Round 1, and am loving this diet! My results: Cycle 1 - lost 10 lbs Cycle 2 - lost 3 lbs Cycle 3 - gained 5 lbs Total loss = 8 lbs
Cycle 3 really threw me for a loop! I do better when I just "can't have it" then when I have to limit it! But, I'm not giving up. On to round 2 ... looking forward to Cycle 1 and being smarter this time around from lessons learned!

I am just finishing cycle 3 and I have never been on a diet that has been so easy to follow. I never weigh myself but I knew I had gained weight by my clothes. Now, everything fits so much looser......I even went down a size in my skinny jeans!!! Most importantly, I have more energy than I have had in years and no cravings at all!!! I feel younger and sexier than ever!

I also had the same experience as Linda and Fabbymay. Got to Cycle 3 and just went overboard because I had so many new and wonderful choices. I also must confess that at Cycle 3, I also quit using my accompanying 17 DD workbook/journal. To me this was a huge learning experience and I will now just go on to Round 2 and try harder and USE THAT WORKBOOK! The workbook really helps keep me on track. Overall though, I am happy with my weight loss since I don't seem to lose weight on any other diet. This is by far, the best diet I have ever tried. In addition to the weight lost, I did lose nearly 14 inches!

I just finished my first set of 3 cycles and I have to say that I LOVE this diet because IT WORKS! I think that C3 works better for me than C2. The weight seemed to come off quickly at first on C3 for me, but then I had to take some meds that caused me to plateau a bit on the last week. I am still very pleased with my results!

I know we are supposed to just edit if we are multi-cyclers, but I felt I really needed to put this up here as a new post because when I finished round 4 two days ago I was feeling very lost and not sure what to do.
So, this morning I decided to skip cycle 1 and go to cycle 2. I definitely lose more on cycle 1 but i am so sapped of energy because I don't eat land animals. i actually did lose a little weight in the "break of two days" because I only ate food I had made and frozen. but, I was not happy nor well feeling.
so here are the results; R1-c1 L10.2 c2 L4.0 c3 L5.0 break (+.4) r1=18.8 R2-c1 L12.4 c2 L3.6 c3 G(+.2) no break r2=15.8 =34.6 R3-c1 L8.0 c2 L3.8 c3 L 2.6 r3=14.4 =49.0(break +2.2)= 46.8 R4-c1 L8.8 c2 L1.6 c3 L 3.8 r4=13.2 =61 (break -1.2) not sure how I will count that

I was on the same page as Fabbymay during C3. The more food, and wine, I was "allowed", it was almost a license to cheat. If I had a rough day, I'd say, I'm going to have that glass of wine. But it turned into two (and good pours at that). Or I'm finally allowed carbs....oh, I'll have this or that. Thankfully, I did kick up my exercising a bit, so I didn't gain, but losing 15 pounds c1 and 4 pounds c3 was awful, I have alot to lose, so I can only blame myself and get serious again for round 2 which I plan to start tomorrow. Its my son's birthday today and I do want a small piece of birthday cake. I'll be really good most of the day. :)
But it was nice to come here and read that someone else went thru C3 with my same thoughts. I i also need to try and find more time to visit these pages, when I'm on travel. Its so easy to get back into old habits if you aren't reporting to someone.

8 lbs in C1
2 lbs in C2 - hit a slumpy plateau - I think my body was hoarding fat & calories.
4 lbs in C3 - broke the plateau and LOVE this cycle! Gonna stick to it since I'm within 10 lbs. of my goal.. yay!!
Might throw a C1 day in a couple days a week to fool my metabolism and shed some weight if needed.

Round 1 Results: C1 - 7.4 lbs C2 - 5 lbs C3 - 0 lbs (+ 4 in the first week, - 4 by the end)
I posted in a few other places, but I had a difficult time doing C3 my first round. I am glad, however, that I had no net gain in the end. It seemed like once the flood gates opened to eat different carbs in C3 I became more prone to cheating. I was much less compliant on this cycle that the last two. But I am learning and I will go on to the next round, woo hoo!

Done with cycle 3 I would not call myself an expert, but I can say I did learn a lot about my body especially on cycle 3. Overall, I lost 19.4 lbs on my first round. I am looking forward to starting again with cycle 1. Thanks everyone for the encouragement and support along the way. Round 3 is history. 14.4 for the round and 49 total on 17DD (more since I had lost @10 pounds before starting- but not in a healthy way).
I credit the holiday 5% challenge with helping me continue to lose despite holidays and more two separate weeks away on vacation.)
Now to introduce some strength training into my activities.
Congrats to everyone who has stuck with it and been able to post here.

I have started C1R2 today. I began in August and have lost a total of 34lbs to date. I am afraid I cannot break it down according to cycles, but I know it works! I am down from a size 20 to a size 16 pants. Look out 14, here I come!

After 103 days (two rounds of Cycle 1-3 + 1 extra day of C3) I've lost a total of 20.5#, and 22 1/2 inches off of everywhere.
Lost one pants size, and my current 16s are getting that stupid just-loose-enough-to-be-annoying fit in the waist, swimming around my thighs (yay, smaller thighs!) and my 14s still fit comfortably.
Face has slimmed down, I will need to buy new bras shortly (band size has GREATLY decreased), and I'm still getting comments on how DIFFERENT I look since September.
I'm still 39 years old, still 5 foot 3 inches tall ;)

Round 1 completed Dec 21 14lbs lost
Cycle 1 start Nov 1 172lbs - end Nov 17 163lbs Cycle 2 start Nov 18 163lbs - end Dec 4 160lbs Cycle 3 start Dec 5 160 lbs - end Dec 21 158lbs
My weight loss stalled during every cycle. What kept me going was averaging my loss per week which in the end was just under 2lbs per week. Doesn't seem like much until you look at the big picture.
Time is going to continue moving on whether I am trying to lose weight or not. If I hadn't started I would probably still be at 172 or higher. I will be back Feb 12 to update my success from Round 2! Yes I am that anal that I know the date!

You will see my results in my ticker. I started c1r3 today.
The biggest change for me during round 2 was that I was not as mindful as in Round 1. The positive of that is I did not stress out as much, the negative is that i felt distant from myself and that overflowed into the rest of my life.
The great news is, i am pretty confident about round 3 when just the other day i wasn't.

In my first "round", I've lost 12.6#, and 18 1/2 inches. There's a breakdown of my measurements on my blog if you're interested.
According to an online generator, I've gone from 51% body fat to 47% body fat; and my BMI has dropped to 31.something (according to Wii).
I'm 5'3", medium frame, 39 years old.

I lost 19 lbs on C1 - C3 ... most of it (16+ lbs) in C1 .... I had some issues with C2 and C3 because of my reluctance to add in starches (for fear I'd overdo it) so I stayed with C1 for far too long and plateaued. . . and I have only recently started to exercise with any regularity. Still - I'm far more aware of food choices, I've started eating vegetables I wouldn't have looked at 52 days ago, I'm moving more and sleeping far better than I have in years.... and I have finally started wearing different clothing (the stuff that's been languishing in my closed and FINALLY fits!) ... People at work think I'm getting new clothes left and right - No! I'm finally wearing clothes other than my navy, grey, and black slacks and the 5 tops I wore each week!
This site has been an incredible place of information and support so I'm happy to start C1R2 with my SP anchor in place!
Round one total is 30.2 pounds. I am amazed. I did much better on C3 then I did on C2 but that might just be TOM.
51 days on point I had one planned meal off had 1 slice of pizza, 1 cup caked and a few M&M- of course I ate a big salad first and drank lots of water.
Non scale victories: down 1 pants size but I was really streaching those old ones. stop one med for edema and cut my blood pressure meds in half. My bp had droped to 110/60 over 3 days. I am sleeping better and moving better. I also kicked my addiction to diet coke.
I will be going to cycle 4 for the next 5 days and will start round 2 on Monday.

For me it is tough- with pmy menstrual cycle and depending if something is inflammatory for me- I can go up on the scale a few pounds then drop it again in a few days. All I know is that overall it is working- almost 20 pounds in 51 days - not bad.

My starting weight was 197. I am 35 years old and 5'8".
Cycle 3 was not a disappointment for me even though I didn't lose as much. I know it's because I didn't follow a true Cycle 3 but I did increase my exercise. I'm looking forward to Round 2!

I am happy to report weight loss as well as non scale victories:
R1 C1 8.0 pounds C2 4.0 pounds C3 4.2 pounds
Dropped two pant sizes/my tummy doesn't rub on the steeringwheel anymore and seat has been moved to a more forward position/A1C is 5.6 (the lowest it has ever been) even after dropping one diabetes medication altogether and using only half of another. To be truly fair it is not all because of the 17DD as there has been a total loss of 42 pounds since July 4...however I have not felt this energetic, encouraged, enthusiastic or supported before joining this team. I love this protocol and plan to continue to follow the recommendations "forever"...starting R2 in the morning after a two day planned break this past weekend that was unremarkable. I love, love, love not being hungry, and it kinda makes me feel a little queasy to think about eating any other way (at least right now).
Again, a big thank you to Dr. Mike, SparkPeople, 17DD team leaders and all of you who buoy me up each and every day on this journey to better health!

I finished cycle 3 round 1 yesterday. However I am taking a 3 day break before restarting cycle 1 for round 2 so my numbers in cycle 3 might change.
c1- 10.2 (funny it took me till a few moments ago to realize i kept saying and believing it was 9.2) c2- 4.0 c3- 5.0 total 19.2. i am ok with that. mostly because my stomach feels better and my energy is up. i don't really feel the energy being up, the way i can tell is i just keep going.
i can't find my tape measure to remeasure. guess i will buy a new one.
it is kind of amazing to me that i lost more on cycle 3 than 2. i am thinking that is a very good thing though cause it feels like a more "normal" way to eat.
i still am not doing well on water and green tea intake. i did much better with that on cycle 1. so think i will really try to get that up on my two fake cycle 4 days.

I finished R1C3 last Friday. Here are my results:
Cycle 1- 9.2 Cycle 2-7 Cycle 3-4.8
Total of 21 Pounds!!
It was really hard but I did not cheat once the whole 54 days. I didn't always get in my water and didnt always eat all my servings of Fruit... but I resisted pizza, fast food, carnival food and all kinds of other temptations.
I am going for Round 2 now!

WAY TO GO LIL SPARKGIRL!
I am proud to report that I saw my nutritionist after I finished Cycle 3 on Friday- my fat to muscle ratio is down, meaning more muscle peeking through! Down in pounds, down in all the unhealthy stuff! My BMI went down a point or two- and I am feeling good and she is loving my motivation and dedication... So I wanted to say that I am committed to this lifestyle- and I am committed to doing this for a year- in order to get to goal weight.
THANK YOU LEADERS & TEAM!

My slowest losses were 5lbs each on c2 and c3. But hey, 10lbs is nothing to sneeze at,

I did not keep great track of my weight loss per cycle after mid C2. But today - at the end of R1C3 I am 20.7 pounds lighter! I broke through the 200 pound mark this am when I got on the scale ! Did a little dance! I do have to admit that in C3 I did NOT have all the snacks they recommend. I am kindof best at really being consistent with what I eat. I was really afraid to have a fudgsicle or skinny cow - I have not hada a bite of chocolate or ice cream or anything like that in 51 days and I was so afraid to do it in cycle 3. I did however have a spoonful of organic almond butter - no sugar added everyday - luv peanut butter - so maybe for me that is my "snack." I did do all the carb additions they suggested and although I did not have an alcoholic drink everyday - on the weekends I would have 2 or 3 glasses of wine or 2 light beers and I still lost. It worked for me. The only thing I can truly say I miss is pizza! And on this C3 I was so busy between work and flooding I forgot I cold have made a mock pizza with a low car/high fiber pita! I still have time - that will eb lunch today! And all of this with very little exercise in C3. I am a teacher and went back to work 2 weeks ago - also our area in upstate NY was devastated by major flooding - so we have been busy helping friends clean out. Tomorrow I start R2C! and am so excited! I am armed with good recipes - will spend the day today preparing my lunches for the week - luv that chicken peach salsa recipe - and tomorrow after work I will hit the gym! I had bloodwork done - cholestarol 138! My sugar was 107 and I want to get it below 100 - right now I am in the prediabetic range and I want out! I am seeing an endocrinologist this week (I also am hypothyroid AND had a hysterectomy at age 36). I am so excited that my clothes are finally getting big and I am fitting into some of my old stuff!! I feel better and people are finally noticing the loss! YEAH~
For a total loss of 22 pounds and 9 inches all over my body! Woo hoo! I'm really surprised how much I lost on C3. Back to C1 tomorrow, and this time, DH is joining me.

After one whole round, I lost 18# but EVERYONE notices. I have also been getting back into running. I wish I would have measured myself because I can't imagine how many inches I've lost.
I restarted cycle 1 a week ago today and have lost just a few more pounds but haven't been super strict. (I probably should call it cycle 2.)

I'm starting Round 3 today. Here are my numbers so far:
Round 1: Cycle 1 12 Cycle 2 4 Cycle 3 6 Total 22
Round 2: Cycle 1 5 Cycle 2 8 Cycle 3 4 Total 17
39 pounds lost so far, but I did gain back some on vacation. I've decided to restart with Cycle 2 this time. I know it will mean being on the diet longer, but I'm just not in a good head space to do Cycle 1 again right now. If I don't meet my goal weight in these two cycles then maybe I'll do a 1 and a 3 or 1 and jump to 4 if I'm really lucky. I'll see how it goes.

Please only post in this category what you have lost in all three cycles. If you don't know how to do it, just scroll down and look at some of the posts.
I lost 13 pounds total on C1 and C2, and then gained two back on C3. (C3 was hard for me, but I think I've worked out the kinks.) I've been back on C1 for a few days and have already lost those two plus two more. Hurray!

Hi ladies- I feel excited to start this- my own concern is I am pre-diabetic...is this a poor choice of eating plans for someone who has "tricked" their cells and insulin levels into a frenzy?? Are the cycles more of a positive or a havoc-wreaker?? I read a review where it said NOT reccomended for diabetics.
Any diabetics out there?? THANKS JENN!

I can't believe I'm getting to finally post in this thread!! Yea!!!
Round 1 C1=10 lbs C2=9 lbs C3= about 1.5 lbs (My C3 results are very unreliable because of my TOM.)
Round 2 C1=7 lbs C2=5 lbs C3=3 lbs (I only did C3 for 13 days before I decided I needed a dieting break. I took a full week off, ate what I wanted, and gained 6 lbs. PMS probably has the gain a few pounds higher than it should be.)

Yesterday was my last day on C3. Today I will go back to C1 as I still want to lose 15 more pounds. I wanted to post my results. I am amazed with this diet. I have been on Weight Watchers about 5 times, Atkins, etc, and I have never dropped weight like I did on the 17DD. This diet works. Stick to this plan and you will get results. So nice to throw those old clothes in the closet. Here are my numbers.
C1-252 to 231 (21) C2-231 to 219 (12) C3-219 to 215 (4) 37 pounds gone.
Stomach 49" to 42" Thigh 26" to 23" Hips 50.5" to 44" Chest is now 46"
As of 07-14...13 pounds to go to my goal...:))))
