Hi, Lex - SparkPeople can be a great motivator to get us going - lots of helpful tips and useful trackers. If you make small changes, they're easier to tolerate. Instead of saying "tomorrow, I'll run 2 miles" (when you're really out of shape), say "tomorrow, I'll walk around the neighborhood; next week I'll jog 5 blocks", etc.
There are lot's of motivational quotes here - like "fall down 7 times, get up 8" "One step backward, two forward" They acknowledge that we will make mistakes, but the important part is to not quit.
