Can you enlist you husband and son's help to not bring junk food into the house while you are establishing your new eating habits? Being pre diabetic is serious and hopefully they can help you get it under control. emoticon

In that case be sure to check out the nutrition tracker for some ideas about what to eat. Be sure to eat enough. I always eat toward the top of my calorie range. You might also like to read the article " How to use SparkPeople When you have Type two Diabetes ". You can find it by entering the title in the search engine on your Spark Start page. The article has lots of good information and links that will help you get started. Good luck to you as you journey toward good health.

Thanks - my current weight is fine but just worried because I gained 10 lbs in 6 months and my doctor has told me, I am pre diabetic. My diet obviously needs to be changed, but it is hard when you have a pantry full of sugar treats (Husband and son). I am worried about the middle age spread that all my co workers have told me is unavoidable.

Are you sure you need to lose weight? Sometimes your body gets to the best weight for health and stays there. What does your doctor say?

Hi
I just turned 42 and would like to slim down. I am 54 and 134 I would like to be 120 to 125. I have one of those expensive NordicTrack treadmills and do 2 to 3 miles 4 to 5 miles a week and cannot lose weight. I need advice on what I am doing wrong. Also let me explain I live with a husband and a 14 year son who are constantly bringing in junk food to eat. I am not able to get rid of junk food because my husband and son are not worry about their weight.
