Actually I spoke too soon; today is the start of my second week and I did lose that pound that was my goal. My BS's are also under control for the first time in months! You were right , I could do it! emoticon

I still have a ways to go but I actually only want to lose half that much, about 20 #'s. I also decided that 1100 calories makes it too hard to do long term so will change my goal to lose only 1/2 # per week which will be really slow but I think it will be easier to transition to a maintenance diet. I seem to have got my sugars almost under control again and maybe 10 pounds from now I can get off insulin again! We need reachable and realistic goals to keep us going and for me that hopefully will work. If I still can't get off insulin, it isn't really that bad to take it; most people don't realize that giving yourself a shot doesn't hurt any worse and probably not as much as sticking yourself for a blood sugar.

Enough about myself; how are you doing at this start to a new phase in your life?

wow Millifred, you have almost reached your goal. I need to loose 50 # but just started last month on this journey. Seeing that someone is almost there is encouraging!

You're right about taking it back off slowly. I see a lot of people talking about losing 5 pounds the first week and hoping to continue at that rate and that just isn't reasonable; they're just setting themselves up for failure. Good luck

Me name is LeeAnn. I used SP from 2008 to 2010, and had dropped from 260 to 210, but I got too caught up in living life, and changes that under minded my hard work. Now am older, and look even worse than before. Time and a few sprains, and accidents have made work-outs almost impossible. When I have worked out, am sore for days, and have to use a TENS unit. While I have been told I am a boarder line diabetic, my spouse is a diabetic, as well as many of our relatives.

I am hoping to lose a pound or two a week. I put it n slowly, and that's how I want it to come off. I need to tighten and firm every inch of my torso. I know it is hard work, but I am worth it, and there may not be many available chances later. I am looking forward to finding the health and energy levels that I have felt in the past.

I will be starting classes again soon, possible in the summer term. I stopped due to family health issue. I work full time, and those two things have kept me from the things I love most. My nine year old daughter, my sweet hubby, and my family.
