I started this program after I did the walk/jog 5K. That was Nov, 2010. To date, I've done 31 5Ks and 2 Half Marathons. The reason I continue to stay on this team is to help others who are doing a 5K for the first time. I have the utmost respect for those who choose to do a 5K for the first time! I want to help everyone who joins this team. I believe I'm more than comfortable to help find the answers for my teammates here. I am continuously researching to become more effective as a runner. This includes the areas of nutrition, technique, training, clothing, even race environments, you name it! I have written multiple race reports in my blogging so please don't hesitate to ask me anything if you read them.
In the last few months, I've been asked to run for two different running stores and several health businesses. I chose to run for American Running Company (ARC) and train with the run team out of my hometown of Dunedin, Fl. I was also chosen to run for Team Milestones in the Inaugural Best Damn Race Classic 10K in February at Safety Harbor, FL. I must be doing something right so I hope I can help this team as much as called for.

Congrats. to everyone! I've got this determination that is so strong now. I feel like I can do just about anything I put my mind to. Every time I get thrown backwards, I just push harder and I love it. Plus, the comments I hear from everyone I run into really keeps me going!

Congrats! I hope you did well in your race. My favorite part is the self-confidence that I have experienced since I lost weight and started running. It keeps getting better. If you keep doing the best that you can, you will see a world of difference. You will be amazed at who you are!

My favorite part is realizing over time what works for me. I've been working out pretty steadily for the last 6 years and I think I have the recipe for my best overall health...FINALLY

my favorite part? EVERYTHING! Feeling great, ENJOYING being active, learning more about really GOOD nutrition, realizing the power of setting and reaching a goal---learning from others! Congratulations to you! I too have the goal of running a 5K, so far have walked in many, ridden my bike 30+miles, but have not realized my dream yet of running-that too shall happen soon enough!
I've been using SparkPeople for a good three months now and I figured its about time I get to posting and meet you wonderful people! Since August I've lost 15 pounds. 15 more to go! Since I started losing weight about 3 years ago, I've lost about 50 pounds to this point. But as I tried to do it more and more on my own, the weight kept creeping back.. it was hard to know what exactly to do all the time, which is where Spark People has been a HUGE help! I'm running my first 5k this Thanksgiving, and I never thought I'd be a runner! SparkPeople gave me the training plans to help me start off, and I'm just so happy with the skill training and positive encouragement I see in forums all the time. I feel very lucky to be a part of this community, and I would love to hear your story!!
