Hi everyone! I am so excited about this challenge! I have wanted to start running forever, but it has always seemed impossible for me. I have never been able to run without getting winded and having to stop. This plan seems really doable! Last year at this time I was in great shape, probably the best of my life, I was happy with my weight, living an active lifestyle, and doing yoga. Over the past year I have gained a lot of weight and my lifestyle has become very sedentary.
I am as heavy as I have ever been in my life and I feel really bad about myself. None of my clothes fit me and I avoid going out because I feel so bad about my weight. I went shopping yesterday for some running shorts/tops/bras. None of the shorts fit me, but I got a bra and running shoes. I was planning on running outdoors, but I think I will start out using a treadmill and switch gradually to running outdoors once I am in better shape. My mom is giving me her treadmill so I will have it in my apartment. I have about 35-40lbs to lose but I am focusing on losing 10lbs at a time. I think once I lose 10-15 lbs I will feel much more confident and be able to start exercising outdoors and going out more in general.
I am 26 years old and 5' and weigh 145 lbs.
