Hi Sassafrass...welcome!!! I am also new to this site, I've only been using it for a month. I had my one and only child at 35 and he is now 6. I have noticed that since I hit 40, I have the hardest time managing my weight. My son was a non-sleeper as an infant and didn't sleep through the night until he was 4 years old and that was only because he was finally diagnosed with ADHD and placed on medicine to help him sleep. I ate a LOT to stay awake at work and through the night so I gained more than I ever imagined I would. Since joining the site, I have lost 6 pounds and I'm doing it in a healthy way since diets don't seem to work long term for me. I have found the people so encouraging and helpful. If you have a questions or just a need for encouragement, definitely ask! They will respond promptly. Good luck in your healthy life changes.

I'm Sassafrass & I am brand new to this site recommended to me by my physician after I went to her in complete desperation. You see, I've gained 40 pounds in the past 6 years and although I "look" solid because I'm very active & fairly fit, I FEEL horrible and out of sorts....this is NOT the college athlete I once was, although that was 30+ years ago....
I am in my late 40s which doens't help but until recent years I've never had a weight problem because I ate healthfully and worked out regularly...motherhood and life in general has taken away my "me" time but I'm ready to regain it....BEFORE I hit the big 5-0, so I especially want to hear from those of you late baby boomers like me who are having success. I am currently at my ALL TIME high and that includes my weight the day I delivered my daughter, who is now age 7.
I am interested to in hearing from folks who have had success with this program and most of all, I am hoping to see changes sooner rather than later because I am a TYPE A person who likes actions and results...yesterday. ;)
