I signed up for "Run Like a Diva" in Myrtle Beach in April. I hope to run the whole way by then. I'll run/walk it if I have to.

My town does a Thanksgiving 5k (Turkey Race). I think I will sign up for it and make it a yearly tradition. Nothing like 5Ks and Turkeys. I don't know if I'll be able to run but I'm going to try my best. Wait! NO!! I WILL RUN THIS 5K. I'm not going to do that whole "do my best" crap. Because the truth is I'll use that as an excuse to walk and not try as hard. I WILL RUN this race!!!!

Just signed up for my first race...with my hubby. We will do the Grub Run on Thanksgiving Morning!! Let the training begin!

Debating whether to sign up for a race in a college town near me next month, I feel like I would be ready for it, but I don't have a car to get me there, and I'm not sure if my family would be supportive (Not to mention I don't have a lot of spare cash.) I originally planned to just do my 5K on the treadmill or maybe map a run, but now I really wish there was an actual race near me.

To motivate myself, I am signed up for a 5k on Oct 26th (I know it's before the 8 weeks are up). It's a walk/run so if I can't run it all by then I can walk it. Then I'm thinking of signing up for a June 5k with my cousin to give me another goal to work towards.

I signed up for a 5K in the 31th ATHENS CLASSIC MARATHON in Athens on 10 November 2013. So tomorrow I begin the training of the 8 weeks. Last year I did it again, not running but walking. Who knows! Maybe this year it will be running!

It gets easier. When I first started, I had a hard time running from mailbox to mailbox, let alone even run a block. I tried running on the treadmill which helped a lot. My first goal was to be about to run the length of one whole song. The treadmill does some of the work for you but it will still help you find your rhythm and work on your wind.
I found something on youtube called chi-running and that did it for me.

I am not up to running or jogging a race just yet, BUT I can walk one! I have signed up for:
A Run for Maggie's Place in Phoenix, Oct. 6th!! http://www.maggiesplace.org/events/mp9k-arizona/ They have a signature 9K (one for every month of pregnancy) and I plan to walk that one. Maggie's Place is a non-profit organization that helps pregnant women.
The other race that I may try to jog/run is the Hot Chocolate run in Dec.
I just did my first day of week one and it was totally brutal. Does it get easier??

I'm going to do a Sept. 21 Mud Run in WI. I've always wanted to do one! I did a 5k two years ago, but fell off the wagon (again!) and am getting back into running/exercising in general. Super excited for the mud run, though!!

I'll be signing up for the Cincinnati Zoo's annual Cheetah Run next month. I'm going with two friends who've bother done it three years running. I'm working hard on being able to keep up. I KNOW I could walk it easily if that's all I do but I'm following the 5k your way plan and managed to break the 15:00 pace on Tuesday with a 14:43. For me, that's progress considering that a year ago today I couldn't have walked a mile in an hour.
My friend Euphrates who got me Sparking in the first place took me to The Running Spot and I got fit for, and bought some of the most expensive shoes, and socks, I've ever owned. So I'm not one of the 85% wearing the wrong shoes... :)
This is a miracle for me, so I'm really enjoying it.

I ran a 5K, my first, in May 2011. I keep planning to run another but so much "life" has gotten in the way. I finally feel like I will have the time to devote to a plan in the near future. I am recuperating from surgery right now and hope to be cleared on the 16th. I live in Florida, so it's not prime racing weather again until October. This is what I am going to shoot for.

I have signed up for the Fit 4 Duty 5K in August in Windham, Maine. It will be my first real race. I am NOT a runner, at least, not in my brain......I've been working on improving my fitness but I'm not an insane runner like some of my good friends. I apparently haven't found my running mojo.....but I'm trying because I hae 40 pounds to part with and walking is not cutting it anymore!

HI everyone. I just registered for the Color Run Orlando, Sept. 22, 2013! This will be my first "anything like this ever!" I'm both nervous and excited and I can't wait. I registered as a team captain and friends are signing up already. YAY. thecolorrun.com/orlando/ I'm NOT a runner but I am following a training program (5k) and will do my best at whatever way I can accomplish this. :D

I have signed up for the Biggest loser run/walk 5k in Panama City for December 29th. I have 30 weeks to get into shape enough to finish it successfully. I weigh 300 lbs and plan to be significantly lighter (50-60lbs). Hopefully by working out with this plan and going through the plan a few times I can finish without a problem.

Most Running Shoe stores have websites with running event calendars. I live near Lou, KY. I use Fleet Feet, RiverCity Racers, Swags, and Pacers and Racers. Most of those places have the same races listed. But check out running stores in your area online and see if you can find a race calendar on their website.
Hope the info helps.

No official race for me yet. I'm hoping to do this 8 week program - and then start jogging on a regular basis throughout the spring and summer. My goal is really to be able to jog any of the 5k's we do for work charity events - most important to me - The Cincinnati Walks For Kids that we do for Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center each year.
Also - just for an added bonus - I love Halloween and all things scary - so I've always wanted to run in Cincinnati's Run Like Hell each year in a costume - so I'm putting that on my list of 5ks for this year!
