The race in October that I was at was the Susan G. Komen Race for the cure. One year it was on what would have been our mother's birthday. She also had breast cancer along with 2 of her 3 sisters (our aunts) and her mother, our grandmother. My oldest daughter was with us on year and you ar right it is fun to have several friends. Our cousin's wife was also there one year. His mother is the only other breast cancer survivor in our immediate family and she is now 96.

I have done a few on my own and a couple that were real" organizes ones to I , my family and I have done the Breast Canser in AR. I think it was for Susan G Komen emoticon . I really like all the people and just geting together. It was a blast! It would be fun if enough of us lived near to do as a SP group, in a walk emoticon

I have done 3 5k Walk/Run Race for the Cure with my sister who is an 11 year breast cancer survivor. Those were the most awesome experiences of my life. Held in October each year in Little Rock, AR with over 40,000 people there, that sea of pink was never fully appreciated until I was a part of it. The were racers, walkers and families with children and some wheel chairs. There were 3 levels of lining up. This is a part of a huge fund raiser for Breast cancer. I am very proud of my T-shirts for these.

Hi. I'm Joni and I am new to SparkCoach and new to the team. I look forward to doing a 5k walk. I do these events a few times a year. The energy of the people, the music and the cheering crowds make for a great time. Not to mention the t- shirt that usually comes after you complete the race which are fun to wear as a badge of honor. Most races are used as fund raisers which also make you happy. Lets enjoy the journey! emoticon
