I remember those days, when my kids were young. You love them dearly, but you're absolutely right - you also need time for yourself. Remember what they tell you on airplanes: Put your own oxygen mask on first, before helping others. Taking care of yourself will help you take better care of your children. Congrats on taking these first steps toward that.
Good luck! Carol

Ask your doctor if getting off the couch is right for you.
Welcome. It is a great way to get stronger. You may be surprised at how easy it truly becomes. Bring your children when you can. They will enjoy being with you and walking with you. It may take a bit longer to walk, but it is worth it.
On the other hand, if you can get away, it is a great way to regroup and reorganize your thoughts.

Hi! I am new to SparkPeople and wanted to introduce myself. I am a 33 year old mother of two (a daughter with special needs - age 9 and a son - age 5), working full-time plus, and trying to remember what sleep looks like. I need to take better care of myself, and I need help with being reminded of that. So I thought this would be a great place to start. I want to get healthy, take off a few pounds, and really start to be more supportive of me. I am also hoping I can reform my family a bit along the way. Thanks!
