CTEMT94323 - Once you have the ok from your cardiologist, it's just a matter of working up slowly to the distance. If you find that the programs ramps up too quickly for you, then do each week twice.
Find a place you will enjoy walking. Take music or a book on CD with you if you need a distraction. Also taking a little camera can be fun. Looking for interesting things to photograph can make a walk much easier.
Be sure you have good shoes for walking. Technically, walking shoes are slightly stiffer and heavier than running shoes, so I always suggest running shoes. Go to a running store and have them analyze your gait so you get the correct type of shoes. Also get some wicking socks to go with them. When your feet are happy it is much easier to walk distance.
Take care, and keep your doctor informed of your progress and any problems you might have.

I think you need to run it by your surgeon or doctor before you commit to to much walking !
I know they say its the best thing to do ..but only with their permission . I have had a angiplasy wich as you know is a stent in an artery and I have worked up to my exercise over many months .So Take Care my Friend
